The JIIFF Lab 2026 call is aimed at director-producer duos from Ibero-America developing a fiction feature project. The lab will take place from January 27 to 31, 2026 in José Ignacio, Uruguay, as part of the Working JIIFF industry program.
Participants will receive personalized mentoring from international experts in areas such as directing, screenwriting, editing, and audience design, along with networking opportunities and a final project pitch before a jury.
Projects must be in development, with a maximum budget of US$ 1,500,000 and at least 25% secured financing. Directors and producers must meet minimum experience requirements in short or feature films and festival participation, as well as residency in Ibero-America.
Awards include the Fondo Pfeffer del Sur, offering US$ 50,000 for project development, and the Musitelli Award, providing US$ 50,000 in filming equipment in Uruguay. Submission deadlines are October 31 and December 12, 2025.

JIIFF LAB
Impulso Morelia 12 is an industry platform of the Morelia International Film Festival focused on Mexican fiction and documentary feature films in post-production. The program operates as a Work in Progress initiative where selected teams present their projects to an international panel of experts and industry professionals to receive feedback on completion, promotion, and distribution strategies.
The call is open exclusively to Mexican projects, either directed by Mexican filmmakers or by permanent residents of Mexico. Productions created exclusively for television are not eligible. Submitted projects must be feature-length films with a working cut between 70 and 120 minutes and be in an advanced stage of post-production.
The application deadline is July 22, 2026, at 8:00 PM (CST). Selected projects will be announced on August 25, 2026. Impulso Morelia 12 will take place from October 18–20, 2026, as part of the 24th edition of the Morelia International Film Festival.

Morelia Impulse - FICM
The UNIFEST Film 2025 call for entries includes a “Best Short Film Script” category for writers from Mexico and the United States. Any genre or theme is accepted, as long as the script is original, unpublished, and intended for a short film. Submissions are open from January 31 to July 31, 2025 via FilmFreeway. The prize consists of two days of professional filming equipment rental (4K camera, lenses, lights, sound) and one free day in a studio, to support the winning project’s production. UNIFEST Film – Best Short Film Screenplay
The WIP Latino 10 call from the GuadaLAjara Film Festival (GLAFF) supports feature films by Latinx, Latin American, and BIPOC filmmakers based in the U.S., in the editing or early post-production stage. It aims to boost projects with a rough cut between 60 and 140 minutes that still need at least two post-production processes, providing in-kind prizes, professional services, and a cash award. GLAFF - WIP Latino
In Vitro BOGOSHORTS Film Market (BFM) 2026 is a project development lab within the Bogotá Short Film Festival – BOGOSHORTS, created to support emerging Colombian filmmakers. The program helps first-time filmmakers develop and produce their debut short films through professional mentoring, specialized guidance and a package of production support for the selected project.
The call is open to teams composed of a director, screenwriter and producer who are Colombian nationals and residents of Bogotá. It accepts fiction, documentary and experimental short film projects with a maximum running time of 10 minutes that are in the development stage and intended to be produced in Bogotá. The lab will take place from December 1–8, 2026, during the 24th edition of BOGOSHORTS.
Applications are open from April 9 to August 6, 2026, and the selected projects will be announced on October 23, 2026.
