The CINELEBU Work in Progress 2026 call, organized within Festival Internacional de Cine de Lebu and its industry section BioBio Conecta, is exclusively aimed at fiction and animation short films that have reached a first cut or rough cut stage. Eligible projects include national productions or international co-productions, with a running time between 5 and 15 minutes including credits, and no thematic restrictions.
Submission is free of charge through Festhome until April 20, 2026. Selected projects must attend in-person pitching sessions during the industry event held in Concepción from May 26 to 30.
The program offers two main awards: an image post-production and deliverables package granted by Chemistry, valued at up to USD 30,000, and an international distribution award provided by Festhome. Awarded projects must include the corresponding logos in their credits and commit the finished short film to premiere or pre-premiere at Cinelebu 2027.

BIOBIO CONNECTS - WIP
Tres Puertos is a workshop with residency-like characteristics for feature film projects in the development stage. Throughout its history, it has held sessions in Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, and Mexico. The workshop focuses on both the narrative, aesthetic, thematic, and conceptual aspects of the projects, as well as on production-related areas and financing circuits. Tres Puertos does not work with thematic modules but rather approaches each project based on its specific needs.

Connections Gramado Film Market
La Burbuja Lab announces its third edition of the Film Residency for Women from Central America and the Caribbean in 2026. This residency is aimed at female filmmakers developing their first or second feature film, whether fiction, documentary, or animation. Over eight days, selected participants will engage in an intensive program of creation, guidance, and collective reflection, designed to strengthen their cinematic projects.
Participants will receive specialized mentorship in directing, screenwriting, production, portfolio design, and pitch preparation. The program also includes masterclasses and opportunities to connect with networks of women in film, fostering professional and creative exchange. The residency will take place at the International Film and Television School (EICTV) in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, from June 22 to 29, 2026. This initiative aims to enhance the artistic and professional development of emerging filmmakers in the region, providing concrete tools to advance their projects toward production and exhibition stages.

La Burbuja Lab
The Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM) 2026 opens the Rough Shorts call, a post-production editing lab for short films. Applications are open until February 23, 2026, with selected projects announced between April 20 and 22. The lab activities will take place from April to June, culminating in the projects’ participation in the BAM from July 6 to 10, 2026.
The call is open to Colombian individuals or legal entities, including directors and producers, and does not accept international submissions. It accepts short films in fiction, documentary, animation, hybrid, or experimental formats, with a duration between 7 and 25 minutes and a completed first narrative cut.
Rough Shorts is part of BAM’s Market Strengthening and Intelligence Path, providing selected projects with specialized guidance in editing, development, and screening preparation.
