Cada año, a principios de julio, el FIDMarseille —Festival Internacional de Cine de Marsella— propone un programa de 130 películas a aproximadamente 23.500 espectadores, en cines, teatros, bibliotecas, galerías de arte y anfiteatros al aire libre por toda la ciudad. El festival presenta una gran cantidad de películas en estreno mundial, así como óperas primas. Hoy, el FIDMarseille es reconocido como una fuente de nuevos cines, tanto de producción documental como de ficción.

Además, la FIDMarseille organiza

el FIDLab , una plataforma de apoyo a la coproducción internacional
el FIDCampus , un taller de formación para estudiantes mediterráneos
y numerosas proyecciones externas durante todo el año.

The Storylines Lab is designed for narrative feature film projects at an early stage of development, from early concept to treatment stage. The lab is held virtually through online sessions and has a duration of two weeks.

The lab gives independent filmmakers from around the world the opportunity to work intensively on the creative development of their projects in an environment structured to foster professional collaboration and high-quality project development.

The lab is facilitated by a professional in the field with long-standing experience. In addition to the guidance provided by the facilitator through workshop sessions and one-on-one meetings, the lab offers the participants the opportunity to workshop their projects with other international filmmakers, be part of a community of like-minded artists, and access the Cine Qua Non Lab film professional network.

By the end of the lab, participants will have created a portfolio of:

The Cine Qua Non Retreat is a writing retreat specifically designed for alumni of the Cine Qua Non Lab. The program aims to connect alumni from different generations of the Cine Qua Non Lab and provide them with the opportunity to work intensively on the development of their narrative feature screenplays in Mexico, in a structured environment that fosters professional collaboration.

The Cine Qua Non Retreat is a supported writing retreat that offers Cine Qua Non Lab alumni the opportunity to experience — or return to — the Lab’s facilities in Mexico and develop their screenplays in a protected writing environment. Participants benefit from the support of international peers from various Lab generations, as well as from an on-site mentor to help generate ideas. The retreat lasts 10 days.

FILMA BIOBIO will take place as part of BIOBIO CONECTA (The Industry and Market of the Festival) within the 2025 version of the Lebu International Film Festival (CINELEBU), which will be held from April 22 to 27, and BIOBIO CONECTA from April 27 to 30. The filming dates for this call will be from April 22 to 26 of this year.

FILMA BIOBIO is co-organized with Bio Ingeniería Audiovisual Ltda., in collaboration with the following universities: Universidad del Desarrollo, Universidad San Sebastián, Universidad de las Américas, Santo Tomás, AIEP, CEDUC LEBU, Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción, Uniacc, Universidad del Bío Bío, and Duoc-Concepción.

The goal of FILMA BIOBIO is to enhance, promote, challenge, and encourage directors, producers, actors, and technicians worldwide to shoot and film in locations within the Bío Bío Region. This is a fundamental requirement, regardless of whether filming takes place in other cities or whether there is a pre-arranged setup.

Professionals must shoot and edit between April 22 and 26.
