A space where writers can refine their skills, receive feedback, and connect with a community that shares their passion for storytelling. The SFIF Writers Lab also plays a crucial role in the development and success of Icelandic writers by providing a supportive environment for learning, growth, collaboration, and networking. A 3-day Writers’ Room Lab exploring the creative process of storytelling for Film & TV. The goal of the lab is to develop and encourage new languages of storytelling to emerge and build a pipeline of writers telling stories that would otherwise not come to the surface. Our major initiative is to invite writers who are experienced but who need their craft nurtured and work through their market-ready screenplays to pitch them to the industry.

STOCKFISH - WRITERS LAB
Encuentros” es la estrategia de la Dirección de Audiovisuales, Cine y Medios Interactivos (“DACMI”), del Ministerio de las Culturas, las Artes y los Saberes en convenio con Proimágenes Colombia para el fortalecimiento de agentes, proyectos y dinámicas del ecosistema cinematográfico y audiovisual de Colombia y Latinoamérica que busca crear espacios que faciliten convergencia e intercambio de conocimientos entre actores del sector. Durante el 2024, “Encuentros” se llevará a cabo en diversos eventos del país, cada uno con temáticas y enfoques distintos.

The Short Film Project Laboratory will take place in person on April 18, 19 and 24. With the main objective of promoting the production of short films, the Laboratory has the experience of professionals who work in the audiovisual area.

Laboratorio de Proyectos de Cortometraje - CURTACINEMA
La convocatoria “Del papel a la luz” es una iniciativa conjunta del Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara (FICG) y la Feria Internacional del Libro (FIL) que busca vincular la industria audiovisual con la literatura iberoamericana. Está dirigida a empresas, productores y profesionales que desarrollen, adquieran o produzcan contenidos para cine, televisión o plataformas, interesados en adaptar obras literarias.
Los participantes deberán completar un formulario y entregar un archivo PDF que incluya información de la empresa, perfil profesional, experiencia en adaptaciones y objetivos de participación. No se especifican formatos ni géneros, pero se espera viabilidad comercial o industrial del proyecto.
Se otorgarán hasta cinco becas: dos con pasaje (una nacional y otra internacional) y tres con alojamiento, acreditaciones y espacio en el Salón de Derechos de la FIL. Los seleccionados podrán acceder a actividades profesionales, catálogos, y espacios de networking durante la FIL 2025.
La convocatoria está abierta del 6 al 29 de agosto de 2025, y los resultados se publicarán el 17 de septiembre. El programa se realizará presencialmente del 30 de noviembre al 3 de diciembre en Guadalajara.

Our Short Film Fund initiative supports the production of a short film screenplay (20 pages max) or the completion of a short film (under 20 minutes) with a grant of up to £5,000 (approx $6,300), a kit rental package, and in-kind post production services. Filmmakers can apply without a producer – we can help you find one if your project is selected.
