The Slow Cinema Workshop-Residency is a training initiative within the Ibizacinefest, focused on contemplative and slow-paced filmmaking. Its goal is to help participants develop a personal vision, encourage mindful observation, and explore alternative narrative approaches beyond conventional cinematic pacing. Attendees will learn about framing, composition, camera movement, and cinematic language, while producing their own audiovisual piece, such as a city portrait or self-portrait.
The 2026 edition will take place from February 20 to 28, and is aimed at students and professionals in film, art, photography, and audiovisual fields, as well as anyone interested in experimental and reflective cinema. The workshop includes accommodation, meals, transfers, festival accreditation, and public screening of participants’ works, with a maximum of 15 participants and a total cost of 580 €. The program combines practical and theoretical learning, fostering experimentation and the development of a personal filmmaking style in the inspiring environment of Ibiza.

SLOW CINEMA WORKSHOP-RESIDENCY - IBIZACINEFEST
The FIRE!! LAB call is part of the LGTBIQ+ Film Festival in Barcelona and targets audiovisual projects focused on LGTBIQ+ themes. The Central America and the Caribbean Cinematographic Project Development Workshop is an annual call aimed at supporting filmmakers, screenwriters, and producers from the region in the development of film projects, whether fiction, documentary, or hybrid. Organized by the Ibermedia Program, the workshop offers comprehensive advice in key areas such as script, direction, production, and distribution. Each year, up to 15 projects in advanced stages of development are selected, receiving mentorship from international experts and the opportunity to establish partnerships with other industry professionals. The Atlàntida Mallorca Talents Lab (AMTL) call is aimed at feature films in the development stage, providing support through mentorship, training, and networking opportunities. The 2026 edition will take place from July 28 to 30 in Mallorca, Spain.
Applications are open from December 15, 2025, to February 28, 2026. Projects of any genre or theme are accepted, including fiction, documentary, and animation. Atlàntida Mallorca Talents Lab
Mecal Lab is a professional short film development program held annually in Barcelona, Spain, as part of the renowned Mecal Pro Festival. The lab selects five short fiction projects (under 30 minutes) and provides filmmakers with intensive training and mentoring through seven specialized workshops. These cover topics such as crowdfunding, script doctoring, marketing and distribution, sustainable filmmaking, public funding, AI in cinema, and pitching strategies. Each selected project receives personalized coaching and a €3,000 grant to support the film’s production.
The 2025 edition will take place from June 26 to July 6. Applicants must submit a biography of the director and producer, a motivation letter, a full project dossier, and the short film’s script. The application fee is €15, and the deadline is May 15, 2025.
