Franzi Shorts is an international short film script competition. The winning script will be fully produced in Copenhagen by Franzi Films, in collaboration with Simple Rent. Writers worldwide can submit a 5–30-minute script or a story treatment. All genres are welcome.

Ten finalists will receive personalized feedback in a creative call. One winner will move into full production, with development support, travel to the shoot or premiere, and festival submissions included.

Participants agree to grant production and distribution rights if selected. Deadline to apply: September 15. Winner announced: September 30, 2025.

MEDIMED 2025 is now accepting submissions for creative documentaries from Europe and the Southern Mediterranean region. The market will take place October 9–12 in Sitges, Barcelona, and targets producers and directors with feature-length or documentary series in development, production, or postproduction.

Selected projects will be presented to international financiers through pitching sessions, one-on-one meetings, and a digital screening library. Submissions should have international appeal and cultural relevance, especially those connecting Europe and the Mediterranean.

Participation is free of charge, and the deadline to apply is June 30, 2025. MEDIMED also welcomes observers, sales agents, distributors, and commissioning editors from broadcasters and platforms.

The ABYCINE LANZA – AMNISTÍA INTERNACIONAL 2025 call supports the production of a short film focused on human rights. It is open to production companies, professionals, and amateurs, with at least one co-producer legally established in Spain. The short film must be in development or pre-production stage, up to 30 minutes long, and in any genre or format.

Projects should address themes such as freedom of expression, women’s rights, migration, climate justice, or armed conflict. The award includes €5,000 in production support and up to €2,000 for promotional activities.

Selected projects will be showcased at Abycine Lanza 2025, and the winning short will premiere in Abycine Cortos 2026, a Goya-qualifying section. Applications are open until June 30, 2025.

Curta Roteiros – 1st Short Film Script Contest rewards unpublished screenplays written in Portuguese, created for independent cinema. Open to professional and amateur writers worldwide, as long as the script hasn't been produced, published, co-authored, or generated using AI.

Submissions are open from June 5 to July 5, 2025, via form (30 BRL) or Festhome (8 USD). Scripts must be PDF, max 30 pages, using Courier New 12, with a cover page including title, author or pseudonym.

Scripts will be judged on originality, structure, coherence, characters, writing quality, technical feasibility, and emotional/social impact. Finalists will be announced July 25, and winners on August 1 during the Curta Cine Sumaré Festival.

Winners receive digital certificates, laurels, and symbolic cash prizes (120, 50, and 30 BRL via PIX). Honorable mentions may also be awarded.

Polish Days 2026 is a film industry platform taking place from July 26–28, 2026, in Wrocław, Poland, as part of the New Horizons International Film Festival. The event is dedicated to the international promotion of Polish cinema and brings together producers, distributors, sales agents, funding representatives, and audiovisual professionals from around the world.

The call is aimed at Polish feature films at different stages of development. Eligible submissions include projects in development for pitching sessions, films in production or post-production for the Work in Progress section, and completed films for industry screenings. No specific genre restrictions are stated.

Application deadlines are April 17, 2026 for projects in development and May 25, 2026 for completed films and Work in Progress entries. The initiative is designed to foster international co-production opportunities, distribution strategies, and festival exposure for Polish film projects.
