European Film Festival in Opuzen is a weekly event through which we present work and progress of the European and Croatian audiovisual artists, especially film and cinematography.

Festival Europskog filma u Opuzenu predstavlja tjedni događaj putem kojeg se prezentira dosadašnji rad i napredak Europskih i Hrvatskih audiovizualnih umjetnika.

Best films will be awarded in the following categories:
- International Jury Award for best feature and documentary film
- International Jury Award for best short and animated film
- Press Award for Best film
- Human Rights Award, for film that promotes Human rights and equal opportunities
- Audience Award for best feature, documentary, short and animated film

REGULATIONS OF THE OPUZEN FILM FESTIVAL 2015.


Art. 1.

European Film Festival in Opuzen (CROATIA) is a project of the acCULTURation
- Center for Culture and Arts and his main task is to promote new directions and diversity of the European cinematography.


Art. 2.

Professional categories of the festival:
- Feature film
- Documentary film
- Short film (up to 25 min duration)
- Animated film


Art. 3.

The festival will take place in Opuzen (Croatia) in period August, 17th to 22rd 2015.

Film applications must be submitted no later than June, 1st 2015.


Art. 4.

Films must meet the following criteria:

- European feature and documentary film must be in DV, HDV or HDVCAM;
- All films must have subtitles in English;
- Film must be completed 24 months before the start of the festival;
- It is forbidden to promote racism, pornography or any form of discrimination.

Selectors have the right to reject the film due to poor quality of the submitted film copy which may cause problems during the screenings on the festival.


Art. 5.

After completing the application you will need to provide us with DVD or BLU-RAY film disc (PAL, NTSC), press material in digital form on CD (or can be sent by email program@opuzenfilmfestival.com), dialogue list in English is mandatory in PDF, Word or other digital text format) and contact details of the person who would present film at the festival.


Alternatively, you may submit your film through Festhome (www.festhome.com).


All selected authors will be notified with invitation letter about participation no later than July 1st 2015.


Art. 6.

The maximum number of film screenings on the festival is two. All films will be subtitled on Croatian and English. Festival will not pay screening fees for film that has been submitted during the Open Call.


Art. 7.

If the submitted film is selected by the selection jury for the screening at the festival, the festival does not allow the subsequent withdrawal of submissions and requests for removal from the program once film is accepted. If the owner of the film asks that his film does not appear in the festival after July 20th 2015 festival will charge the costs of promoting the film which are formed by printing promotional materials of the festival.


Art. 7.

Copies of selected films must arrive no later than July 20th 2015. at the address specified in the invitation letter. It is necessary to note on the package: "For cultural use only, no commercial value".


Art. 8.

Best films will be awarded in the following categories:
- International Jury Award for best feature and documentary film
- International Jury Award for best short and animated film
- Press Award for Best film
- Human Rights Award, for film that promotes Human rights and equal opportunities
- Audience Award for best feature, documentary, short and animated film


Art. 9.

Representatives, whose films are selected for the official programme of the festival will be invited to be our guests. The festival provides all the necessary accreditation and accommodation for guests of the festival.


Art. 11.

Other requests that are not regulated by this document will be considered by festivals management in accordance with the general rules of business.
