Curtas Vila do Conde – International Film Festival is one of the most prestigious film festivals in Portugal, reaching its 35th edition in 2027.

The festival will be held from 9th to 18th July 2027 and its main objective is the promotion of audiovisual and film production, selected according to quality criteria, at an event which focuses not only on the discovery of new films and directors, but also on the legacy of cinema.

Fiction, animation, documentary, and experimental films no longer than 60 minutes (unless otherwise noted), produced in 2026 or 2027 are eligible for the various competitions.

Out-of-competition programmes will highlight not only a selection of worldwide contemporary short films but also the relations between shorts and features, music and film, art and cinema.

Brussels Short Film Festival is an exhibition intended for cinema lovers, both audience and professionals. The purpose is to promote and circulate short films and to generate contacts between audience, young directors and professionals.

The winner of the Great Prize of the International competition is eligible for consideration in the Animated Short Film/ Live Action Short Film category of the Academy Awards® without the standard theatrical run, provided the film otherwise complies with the Academy rules. It also automatically qualifies the film for the César Awards, provided that it complies with the eligibility requirements established by the Académie.

GIJÓN/XIXÓN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (FICX) aims to showcase a wide and varied selection of auteur cinema currently being produced worldwide and especially focused on innovative films and emerging filmmakers. The question as to what is meant by the term “extreme” can be understood by looking at the content of our wide selection of fantastic films. “Extreme” is often defined by an explicit splatter aesthetic but it can also be represented by unusual story-telling methods or an exotic visual language.
