Bendita Tú is an independent film festival with a gender and diversity perspective. Our main objective is to exhibit hybrid audiovisual, non-fiction, and experimental art of high narrative, technical and conceptual quality. It is a space for disruptive thinking from which to promote and exhibit emerging cinema made by women, trans and non-binaries. As well as breaking with the hegemonic discourses and looking at multiple horizons on the experience of inhabiting the world.

The V Edition of Bendita Tú will take place in September 2021 both in person (Madrid) and online. This edition is going to be very special since, from now on, Bendita Tú is going to become a non-competitive film festival. It is an action that seeks to vindicate the collective and collaborative as feminist principles against traditional hierarchical structures. Therefore, all the short films selected will be awarded in the same category as the principle of brotherhood and sisterhood. The award will consist of a group laboratory for the selected directors with specialized consultancies. A meeting for artistic creation and cultural exchange.

In this way, we open a window to redefine the role of festivals and generate an alliance between the directors over and above rivalry. With the mission of forging an intercultural bridge in the contemporary artistic-audiovisual field with more nuances and fewer limits. And in that union, give visibility to all identities and territories from an intersectional feminism.

In addition, in our desire to create networks and strengthen ties from feminism and equality, this year we will have Mexico as a guest country. From Bendita Tú we encourage all Mexican directors to send risky and innovative audiovisual proposals that make it possible to imagine new inclusive and plural ways of experiencing the present, which is the future that has already arrived.
