The Inflamável Festival is an annual event dedicated to experimental cinema created on analog film formats. Focused exclusively on Super 8 and 16mm filmmaking, the festival celebrates artistic experimentation, materiality, and the creative possibilities of photochemical cinema.
Part of the Strangloscope Platform, the festival brings together filmmakers, artists, researchers, and audiences interested in the preservation, reinvention, and future of analog moving images. Since its creation, Inflamável has screened hundreds of films from Brazil and around the world, becoming an important meeting point for contemporary experimental film practices.
The 6th edition of the festival will take place from December 10–13, 2026, in Florianópolis, Brazil.
We welcome works that explore the expressive potential of film through experimental approaches, expanded cinema practices, hand-processing techniques, direct animation, found footage, abstraction, personal cinema, hybrid forms, and other innovative audiovisual languages.
