Do you remember the first movie you saw in the cinema when you were a child?
For thousands of Mexican children in vulnerable situations this question has no answer. For this reason and for them, the Churumbela Children's Film Festival was created, which invites all Mexican and Spanish-speaking children to experience cinema in an inclusive, completely playful and entertaining environment.
In its 6th edition, the Churumbela Children's Film Festival will be carried out in a hybrid way where some of the activities, workshops and talks with industry professionals will be held online and others in person with film screenings at the National Center for the Arts, the Museum of Popular Cultures, the A7 film club, the Iztacalco Lighthouse, among others, as well as continuing with the Mission Muhammad program, visiting Community Centers in the CDMX.
The Churumbela Children's Film Festival will take place from Wednesday, November 16 to Sunday, November 20, 2022 with the support of the Trust for the Promotion and Development of Mexican Cinema in Mexico City (PROCINE), as well as in-kind support from the private sector.
Thanks to all the support received, it is possible to bring cinema to all children free of charge so that they can immerse themselves in the wonderful world of filmmaking.
