FILMS in Class & Beyond

Coruña, Spain

The CINEHasta en las Aulas International Film Festival (FILMS in Class & Beyond) was created to recognize, showcase, and celebrate audiovisual talent generated within the educational and social spheres.
FILMS in Class & Beyond provides a space where teachers, students, people with disabilities, and at-risk communities can share their stories, learning experiences, and perspectives on the world, using film as a pedagogical, artistic, and inclusive tool.
FILMS in Class & Beyond understands audiovisual language as a powerful medium for learning by doing, communicating through feeling, and transforming through creativity.
This festival takes place in person in A Coruña and Madrid (Spain) and throughout Latin America, allowing for open and international participation without geographical or physical barriers.
This initiative originated in Maturín, Venezuela, in 2009 through audiovisual production training provided by a group of filmmaking specialists. This training led to the first "CINEHasta en las Aulas" (FILMS in Class & Beyond) festival, held in 2010, which has had seven editions. Now embarking on its international journey, this festival is supported by the Ibero-American film company Films Austères Europe SL.
