Local Shorts

Local Shorts are films created by filmmakers who reside in the DMV area (Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia). These works can be either narrative or documentary in nature and must be Under 30-Minutes in length. We are excited to showcase stories that reflect the unique perspectives and experiences of our local community.

Student Shorts (High School Level)

Student Shorts are films produced by high school students, allowing young filmmakers to express their creativity and storytelling skills. These films must be between 2-15 minutes long and can encompass any genre or subject matter. We aim to provide a supportive platform for emerging talent to share their voices and perspectives.

Narrative Shorts

Narrative Shorts are fictional films that convey a story within a shorter format, lasting between 2 - 30 minutes. These films can experiment with various storytelling techniques, genres, and themes, showcasing the creativity and innovation of filmmakers in a condensed timeframe.

Documentary Shorts

Documentary Shorts are non-fiction films ranging from between 2 - 30 minutes that explore real-life subjects, events, or issues.

These films focus on concise storytelling, offering insights or perspectives on a specific topic while engaging the audience in a meaningful way.
