Short film festival

Feelmotion ESNE International Short Film Festival is organized by ESNE University in Madrid.

Originally conceived as a film festival for designers and university students, the festival celebrates its first edition in 2012, born from the initiative of the students and Raúl San Julián, director of the festival and professor at ESNE. Since then the festival has celebrated a total of eight editions, with more than 1000 participating short films from over 50 universities in 30 countries around the world and a total of more than 5000 university students who have participated or collaborated with the festival.

Thanks to the support of our partners, our finalists have been able to use Feelmotion to give themselves momentum and reach such important festivals as the San Sebastian International Film Festival, the New York International Independent Film & Video Fest or the 3D Wire.
Among the outstanding participants are our alumni Diego Porral, nominated for the Goya Award for Best Animated Short Film 2018 for "Un día en el parque" which was selected as Best Feelmotion Short Film 2017 and currently has more than 40 awards and 200 nominations; and José Herrera, winner of the Goya Award for Best Animated Short Film 2019 for "Cazatalentos".

In each of its editions, Feelmotion has relied on a large team of professionals and volunteers from the student body to organize both the contest and its corresponding awards gala and the numerous thematic events of each edition. In total, more than 200 students from different ESNE grades have collaborated with their efforts to make Feelmotion happen.

Feelmotion has also counted on great professionals from the film industry to be part of the juries that each year choose the winners. Professionals such as directors and screenwriters Borja Cobeaga, Paco Martínez Velasco, Hector Hercé, María Pérez Sanz or Alex Rodrigo; producers and academics Marichu Corugedo, Txepe Lara, José Nolla and Antonio R. Cabal; actors Tristan Ulloa, Natalie Poza, Olivia Molina, Ana Arias or Jon Viar among others; and a long list of journalists, technicians, academics, etc.

In the last edition, Feelmotion had the participation of 204 short films, with 120 from outside ESNE of which half came from outside Spain. Every year Feelmotion takes another step to become a reference festival for new directors and university students.

Welcome to our international film festival, an IMDb qualified event with an annual Awards Gala in the heart of the US Midwest. Celebrating and elevating both union and independent productions that showcase at least ONE of these three "M-L-C components" described in the Awards & Prizes section. MLC stands for Mobster - Latino - Comedy.

We focus on shorts, pilot or TV/web series episodes, Wisconsin and Midwest-made shorts. Last, but not least, we specialize in Westerns. What makes us unique and allow us to keep submission costs reasonable is that even if your film, say, was selected but did not win the Quarterly trophy Best Film in any of our categories, as long as they were selected and no wins/honorable mentions occurred, the submission would remain good throughout 2020 for the other windows.

We also deliver trophies by mail (tropies mailed only within US mainland-only up to $10 postage fee) and email digital certificate every 3 months (every quarter) after we select and privately screen.

And we will eventually have a public screening final gala with more trophies and networking with potential cash prizes at the annual MLC Gala.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:

By the end of March 2020 (and every 3 months thereafter), we will notify contestants entering as of December 1, 2019 about those productions that are officially-selected for the quarterly semifinals. Of note, we have an average 60% selection ratio and those films following the Rules & Terms have bigger chances of being selected.

The first week in April (then again in July, October and January of the following year), our panel of judges will meet for private screenings of all officially-selected productions.

The notification date currently posted is when quarterly awards will next be communicated to the top quarterly winnining films or episodes.

The quarterly winners of each of the main categories explained on the Awards & Prizes section will receive silver-looking trophies like the one in our logo, in the mail, as long as they supply an address (up to $10 postage allowance, and always after the win is communicated) that is physically located in USA mainland (otherwise we will email digital Quarterly Winner certificates). Their quarterly winners' status will change to Finalist and, other than the trophy or digital certificate, they will receive a Quarterly Winner laurel distinction.

The EXTRA CONSIDERATION Subcategories of Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Film Score, Best Editing will receive digital certificates and they do not have to be linked to 4 winning films to be awarded. Laurels will be issued to every one.

Quarterly winner films (now finalists) in the main and extra consideration areas will be privately-invited to our annual MLC Gala in February 2020, where there will be cash prizes (although this might change, if there were any cash prizes, the extent would entirely depend on the number of sponsors on board), gold-looking trophies like the one featured in our logo and plenty of networking among filmmakers, distributors and producers. The Gala winners will see their status change to award winner.

Zoroaster Award (Italian-Azerbaijan Film Festival) aims to promote the past, present, and future of cinema in Italy and Azerbaijan. Organized by IMAGO GROUP and the publisher SANDRO TETI EDITORE, the Italo-Azerbaijan film festival will be held for 5 days in Baku. The festival will open with an anthology of classic Italian and Azerbaijani films, screen a selection of contemporary films from both countries on multiple projections, and culminate with an award ceremony on the final evening.

Many important figures from both countries will be feature prominently in this event. In the leadership positions, First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and president of the Aliyev foundation Mehriban Aliyeva will serve as the Honorary President of the festival, while art direction shall be handled by Italian screenwriter and director Claudio Rossi Massimi. The actor and director Remo Girone, well-known throughout the former soviet-bloc region for his portrayal of Tano Cariddi in the serial “La Piovra”, will headline the festival, and many other Italian/Azerbaijani actors and directors will take part in the screenings. The program will be enriched by workshops, networking events, and commercial exchanges between the film industries of the two countries.

The Oz Indie Film Festival has been conceived to celebrate the very best of Australian and International independent film making. At a time when movies are becoming more and more programmed by market research, demographics and comic books and computer game sales, is has never been more important to discover and foster new brave independent and adventurous visionaries dealing with life in the modern world, be it in a serious thought provoking style or in a satirist humorous way.

It also is of no importance whether your political bend is either left wing or right wing or non-political, your film will be judged on only one criteria – the quality of the work. Art should be open minded and stimulate healthy debate and thought. Proudly, we have no other restrictions on your work. This includes your works premier status, it's age and/or whether your work has been made available online.

Our categories include Australian Feature Film, Australian Short Film, International Feature, International Short, Documentary, Australian Indigenous Work and Music Video.

We are also proud to present a series of screenings of movies made by or about Australian indigenous people.

We look forward to your participation as either filmmakers, actors, musicians, industry judges, sponsors and theatre venues.

The Indy Film Fest exists to celebrate the art of cinema and to create a shared experience around film. We are a non-profit international independent film festival programming both shorts and features and strive to bring the best narrative, documentary, and experimental films the industry has to offer to our community from home and abroad. Our programmers aim to foster new talent and help filmmakers connect with the global industry. We are also dedicated to educating and developing audiences for international and independent cinema in Indianapolis, screening the kind of innovative, visionary work that may not normally achieve distribution in this area.

In 2019 we offered 100 screenings from a slate consisting of 143 shorts and features, with over 95% of films selected from submissions. We anticipate a similar number of selections as well as percentage of films programmed from submissions for our 17th festival in 2020.

Always growing and adapting, the Indy Film Fest began as the three-day Indianapolis International Film Festival in 2004. We quickly expanded to our current 10-day format in 2006, moved our festivities to the summer in 2009, changed our name to the Indy Film Fest in 2014, and since 2018 have been back home to our original spring timeframe. For 2020, Indy Film Fest once again plans to present one of the finest festival-going experiences in the region at our 17th festival running April 30 - May 10.

Alumni of the Indy Film Fest (and Indianapolis International Film Festival) are eligible for a reasonable number of free submissions. Films with significant ties to Indiana are eligible for drastically reduced submission fees. Examples of eligibility include the director or writer being a current Indiana resident or native, or the film being primarily shot within Indiana. Please contact submissions@indyfilmfest.org to see if you are eligible for either of these opportunities.
