The Spanish Film Academy opens applications for the 2025-2026 Residency Program, aimed at filmmakers developing audiovisual projects with a strong connection to Madrid.
A total of 20 projects will be selected, providing financial support, personalized mentorship from industry professionals, and a dedicated workspace at the Academy’s headquarters. Participants will also have access to training sessions and networking events organized by the Academy and Madrid City Council.
The program lasts nine months (from October 2025 to June 2026) and is open to both Spanish and international creators.

El Concurso Latinoamericano de Argumentos LATINX 2025, organizado por el Latin American Training Center (LATC), está dirigido a guionistas emergentes, estudiantes y recién graduados de Latinoamérica sin experiencia en largometrajes producidos. La convocatoria acepta argumentos de hasta 3 páginas para largometrajes de ficción o documentales que aborden el tema “Lugares Latinoamericanos”. La inscripción está abierta hasta el 2 de julio de 2025, con distintas tarifas y modalidades, incluyendo descuentos para grupos en situación de diversidad e inclusión, y opción de inscripción social gratuita. Los premios incluyen dinero en efectivo, sesiones de coaching con la reconocida guionista Kate Lyra, licencias del software Final Draft y libros. El jurado está compuesto por destacados profesionales del cine y la dramaturgia de Brasil y Perú. The Rueda Film Academy Program is aimed at emerging or professional screenwriters (individuals), of legal age at the time the application is submitted, of any nationality, whether national or foreign, who present initiatives focused on the development of projects, in feature film format and of any genre (fiction, documentary or animation).

The Unpublished Screenplay Competition of the 46th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana is open to screenwriters from Latin America and the Caribbean with feature-length fiction or animation projects. The competition aims to recognize original, unpublished screenplays that have not been produced, published, or previously awarded, encouraging the development of new cinematic works from the region.
Applications are open from May 5 to August 15, 2026, and the festival will take place from December 4 to 14, 2026, in Havana, Cuba. The final submission deadline is August 15, 2026.

UNPRODUCED SCRIPT COMPETITION – LA HABANA
The Cinekid Script LAB open call launches in March 2025 for writers of children’s feature films or series. A cohort of 12–15 is selected to participate in a six‑month programme (October 2025–March 2026), working on an enhanced script draft with one‑on‑one coaching, workshops at the Cinekid Festival (Amsterdam) and Berlinale (Berlin), plus networking events.
Minimum materials: treatment, character descriptions, motivation letter, link to previous work.
Fees: open‑call writers cover their own participation fees; scholarships are available for writers from “low‑capacity” EU countries. A nomination route also exists, with costs covered by international partners.
