NIFF aims to be a statement against non-involvement, disregard and lack of commitment, which is the real disease of this century, where we produce more than we can consume, and happiness is subject to the law of supply and demand.

NIFF was born with the intention of triggering, debating the issues that are hidden under appearances and confronting the public with the social realities that show each individual as a part of those that make us complex, unique and human.

We Make Movies International Film Festival

The We Make Movies International Film Festival celebrates the Do-It-Yourself filmmaking aesthetic. Held in Hollywood every year, WMMINTL serves to highlight DIY filmmakers across the spectrum of the industry in every genre. In 2024, we're also excited to continue our Short Film Screenplay Competition (introduced in 2023), where 5 finalists will hear their scripts read live by professional actors at the festival in Los Angeles.

From horror to drama, comedy to documentary, experimental and underground to video art and music videos, we salute filmmakers who embrace the true indie spirit by making quality art on their own terms. Based on the idea of "making the film that YOU want to see," this week-long festival provides networking and social events, industry panels, a showcase of shorts, features, series, and video art from around the world, live multi-media performances, and an awards ceremony. By bringing filmmakers of all ilks together, we strive to elevate artists and revitalize the industry that we want to be a part of.

Our festival attracts not only brazen storytellers with a distinct point of view, but enterprising creatives who think outside of the box when it comes to the process of filmmaking. We applaud filmmakers who understand the importance of (and know how to wear the many hats required on) a true indie production. We welcome seasoned professionals and veteran storytellers, emerging voices and new talents, and everything in between -- but the filmmakers who challenge the way things have always been done by finding imaginative and unique solutions to common pre-production, production, and post-production problems are our heroes. If you are a filmmaker who takes chances and asserts your authenticity, we are interested in discovering and promoting you because you are the future of film and filmmaking.

WMMINTL is a natural extension of We Make Movies (wemakemovies.org), a film collective with a thriving worldwide community, a service hub for all pre-production, production, and post-production needs, a practical alternative to film school, and a digital branding and marketing agency for businesses, organizations, and indie artists alike. WMM actively bolsters filmmakers by connecting them to a supportive community of like-minded artistic professionals and cost-efficient and dependable resources and educational tools, as well as providing an outlet for artistic expression, collaboration, and evaluation through our weekly labs and annual international film festival.

Our goal is to empower our fellow filmmakers, provide a custom experience tailored to the needs of each project, budget, and artist, and ultimately bridge the gap between the filmmaker and the business of film.

The word AURA has two meanings: it’s the atmosphere and the wind blowing. The name of the film festival was inspired by both of these definitions. Our film festival is an atmosphere of creativity, celebration and art. A whiff of wind is the wind of change and the point of films, as well as the wind from the seas, near which the cities of film screenings are located (the Black Sea, the Baltic Sea and the Sea of Azov).

The screening sessions of the films of the film festival are held in three cities at once. In the south it is Sochi and Rostov-on-Don, and in the Northwest it is the cultural city of St. Petersburg. Film screenings take place in cultural and youth centers, both indoors and outdoors.

We screen both fiction films, documentaries and animated films, as well as social videos from around the world. In addition, there is a competition of posters and photo projects.

Viewers of different ages attend our film festival. After the screenings, there is a discussion with the creators and organizers of the festival.

On the last day of the film festival, an award ceremony will be held, where statuettes, diplomas and gifts from partners will be presented to the winners of the film festival.

AURA Film Festival is a review competition of films received evaluation by the Selection Committee.

The Festival’s aim is to support cinematographers and to contribute to the development and promotion of film industries.

The film festival focuses on a variety of themes and genres.

It is a strong advocate for social change, and encourages cultural diversity and understanding between nations.

We are also including and actively supporting not only the finest examples of classic moviemaking, but works that are experimental, breaking ground in new non-narrative forms and crossing over into the video arts. All films will be reviewed as they are submitted, and the best in each category will be chosen to screen at the festival. Semi-finalist films will not be screened but will receive our festival laurels.

The final decision on the inclusion of the film in the Festival competition program is made by the Selection Committee which reserves the right not to explain the reason for the refusal and not to give any comment.

The winners are chosen by the organizing committee of the film festival.

The winners receive valuable prizes from sponsors and partners, laurels and diplomas.

You can only send an application for entry through the platform festhome.com The final decision on the inclusion of the film in the Festival competition program is made by the Selection Committee which reserves the right not to explain the reason for the refusal and not to give any comment.

Main Program (International competition), which will regularly feature films from all over the world from among a director’s first and second feature films. The idea is to promote new filmmakers who are making a debut or are only just starting their careers.

This program’s goal is to identify and promote relatively unknown filmmakers’ new film stories, giving them a chance at the beginning of their film careers.

The idea for this film festival emanated from the dire need for a wider space to present debut films by many new filmmakers from the region and all over the world.

The International Film Festival KineNova Skopje, therefore, includes activities such as promotion, support, incentives, exchange of experiences, and film awards. It is a venue for new filmmakers to showcase new stories and offer a fresh perspective of humanity and the world we live in.

Corto Circuito was created in Senigallia in 2013 by Confluenze, an environmental organization with a great passion for short films. The collaboration with other festivals has been crucial for the realization of the past nine editions. With the X edition of the festival Corto Circuito is conferimed becoming a competition, with the name "Festival del Cinema di Senigallia".

Chaired by Giancarlo Zappoli, it aims to discover new talents with particular attention to short films (and their authors), reserving also a special section of the festival for productions made in Marche.
The Festival also aims to promote and seek new perspectives, opening up to different visions of cinema.

Welcome to our 60-second short film festival.

Can you imagine telling a story in just one minute? That's what we're looking for in this festival: creativity, wit, and originality in each of the short films.

The idea of creating this festival arose from the need to promote independent cinema and new forms of audiovisual expression. In a world where time is a precious commodity, one-minute short films are an ideal option for enjoying cinema quickly and effectively.

Additionally, this format allows anyone to tell their story, regardless of their level of experience in the film world. The goal of this festival is to give a voice to those who want to tell a story but often feel limited by duration and resources. In this festival, creativity is the limit, and large budgets are not necessary to create a quality short film. We want to give an opportunity to those who want to make cinema but often don't know where to start.

That's why we invite you to participate in our 60-second short film festival. It doesn't matter if you're a film expert or if you've never made a film before. The important thing is that you have a story to tell and want to share it with the world. All stories are welcome! So don't hesitate, film your one-minute short film and send it to us.

We want to see your creativity and originality in every shot. Join us in our 60-second short film festival!
