There has been growing interest from film and new media sector in promoting the concept of sustainable development, and film makers are increasing focusing on making films, documentaries and multi-media or interactive installations in subjects in this field. This film festival is founded to promote the concept of SDGs, and to enhance the awareness of films and documentaries related to sustainability, and to encourage starters in media sector to focus further on these fields.

The Central American Film Festival in Vienna, Austria, has firmly established itself as an annual tradition for the city.

Vienna has long been revered as one of the world's foremost cultural hubs, making it an ideal setting to showcase the increasingly diverse and compelling productions emerging from the Central American region.

This year's film festival returns in November, and we eagerly anticipate the continued patronage of our devoted audience as they join us to explore the latest offerings from Central American cinema.

Consistent with past editions, alongside the Feature Film, Short Film, Documentary, and Animation categories, the festival includes parallel non-competitive sections: "Pioneers of Central American Cinema," "Works in Progress," "Guest Film," "Bonus Films," and "Latin American View." The latter features a curated selection of audiovisual works depicting contemporary life in Latin America. Detailed descriptions of these sections are provided in the participation guidelines.

“99.media is a carefully curated selection of documentaries from around the world swooping down into extraordinary lives.” — Rob Alderson, WePresent

99.media is a new kind of documentary film festival: both online and in real life.

It is a free and not-for-profit video platform streaming documentaries in 6 languages (English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German and Italian) + a series of live screenings in different cities where our languages are spoken.

Our objective is to democratize documentaries thanks to multilingualism and to help filmmakers get wider audiences and more impact.

°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

"99.media has embarked on a beautiful campaign to share films with the world. Subtitling my film from Arabic and English into a half-dozen languages opens the door for cross-cultural impact in ways I’ve always dreamed about. Their initiative to share powerful works of art with the world is a noble calling, and I’ve watched as my film has reached new people. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have my film play on their platform."
— Matthew K. Firpo, filmmaker

"99.media translated my documentary into 5 additional languages, ultimately helping the film reach a much wider audience, and become globally relevant. Films are made to be seen, and reaching an international audience like this is invaluable”.
— Lukas Schrank, filmmaker

“My short documentary was translated into 5 languages by 99.media, which helped it gain a lot more exposure and massively increased its global reach. I have a lot of respect for, and trust in the team, who has always dealt with me in a professional and honest fashion and who I believe has a real passion for short film and a lot of respect for filmmakers.”

— Andy Oxley, filmmaker

The goal of Agora Awards and our NFT Awards Festival is to provide visibility to talent worldwide. Everyone can participate in our Awards. The TOP100 finalists of each category will be offered to become part of our NFT marketplace: a curated marketplace of Photography, Art and Video Art. The most voted creation of each category will win $25.000.
The Festival will take place in Barcelona from the 27th to the 29th of October 2022.
Finalists will also be offered to appear with their work on Agora TV: our worldwide digital television with an audience of 30k of daily viewers.

You provide your talent, we give you visibility. We win if you win.

How do we select the finalists?

The Agora Jury is in charge of selecting the TOP100 finalists of each Award. The Agora Jury consists of a mix of Photography, Video and Art experts, who are chosen internally, but also community members that proved their great talent on previous awards. The jury takes into account quality, diversity, artistry and originality. It takes into account that the final selection is from different countries, different ages and with the intention of having gender equity.

What happens if I am selected as finalist?

If you receive an email from us indicating you are an Agora Awards finalist, congratulations! This means your creation has gone through our Agora Jury curation process and been selected as one of the best among thousands of creations. Your creation will then move to the voting rounds, where the entire Agora community votes for the best via our app Agora Awards. As a finalist you will automatically be eligible to appear on our international Agora TV channel. If you succeed in the voting rounds, you will participate in the final round, where the winner is chosen! A fantastic prize of $25,000 is waiting for you. Will you be the lucky one?

The final awards ceremony will take place in Barcelona, from October 27th to 29th in 2022. At this event the best finalists will be exhibited, the awards ceremony will take place, our NFT market will be presented and we will have talks, podium discussion, further exhibitions, meetings and last but no least a big party. The event will be broadcasted on Agora TV.

We are looking forward to celebrate with you!

SPREADING ANIMATION FOR 45 YEARS

CINANIMA is an animation film festival organised by NASCENTE – Cooperative Society with Cultural Purposes, and by the Espinho City Hall. Ever since its first edition, back in 1976, it has been working continuously to promote this form of cinema and its authors. It has been considered a precursor of cultural decentralisation in Portugal, as CINANIMA has won international recognition while not belonging to the main cultural centres of Lisbon or Porto.

The Festival is organized by a non-profit association, it is approved by ASIFA – Association International du Film d’Animation – and is supported by the Ministry of Culture/ ICA I.P. – Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual, the Ministry of Youth/ Portuguese Institute of Youth, the Portuguese Tourism Institute, the Ministry of Economy and the Parish Council of Espinho. It is also sponsored by several private entities, and has formed partnerships with the media for promotion and advertisement purposes.

To many professionals, the opportunity to present a film at CINANIMA represents one of the few opportunities to show the public the result of their work and effort, in addition to the privileges to which the winners are entitled. CINANIMA’s Grand Prize winner for short films is placed on the shortlist for the Oscar© for the Best Animation Short film nominations, as the Festival is one of the events recognised by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Throughout these 45 years of activity, CINANIMA has contributed to creating new audiences for this art form, encouraging the general public to recognize the value of animation cinema, pushing aside the prejudice that animation is only for children and confirming animation as an outstanding artistic and multidisciplinary communication platform.

Besides promoting contact between professionals and the audience, CINANIMA is strongly committed to educating professionals and the general public. In recent years it has been developing an educational programme in the visual arts that also enriches experience of those who visit the Festival.

A festival such as CINANIMA consists of more than just films, it is also composed of numerous exhibitions, workshops, performances and other initiatives that are held during that week. For those who don’t have the time or availability to be at the Festival the whole week, and would prefer to see the best of the competition in one go, Sunday, the last day of the Festival, is surely a good day to come to Espinho and see one of the four screenings dedicated to the winning films. Those familiar with CINANIMA know they won’t be disappointed. If you have never been here before, come and discover the Festival!
