The festival seeks films that celebrate alternative visions and sounds, offering a platform that connects filmmakers with one another and our loyal audience, and encourages new ideas in celebration of work that pushes the envelope in style and content.
We are looking for exceptional independent features and shorts in the categories of: Dark comedy, genre, dark sci-fi, cerebral and/or psychedelic horror, unusual documentary, music video, animation, or films that defy description (preferably with a WTF) from all over the world.
Since 2012, BUFF's primary screening venue has been the historic Brattle Theatre in Cambridge, MA. In addition to film screenings, BUFF hosts receptions and parties all over Harvard Square for attending filmmakers, industry guests, audience members, and media.

THE WOMEN ON STAGE FILM EXHIBITION è stata creata nel 2002 con l'obiettivo di discutere, attraverso l'organizzazione di cineforum, le disuguaglianze di genere esistenti nella nostra società e in altre società vicine, riflettendo sulle loro cause e sulle possibili strategie sociali per sradicarle.
Dal 2010, questo obiettivo di sensibilizzazione e visibilità si è aggiunto al sostegno della presenza delle donne nella produzione cinematografica, un'area in cui esiste un grande divario di genere, sfruttando il fatto che ogni giorno ci sono più donne interessate a sviluppare la propria carriera professionale. In questo campo, quindi, uno degli scopi della SEZIONE UFFICIALE WOMEN ON STAGE è la visibilità delle produzioni audiovisive realizzate da donne, e si ottiene dedicando le sessioni serali alla proiezione esclusiva di opere dirette, prodotte o sceneggiate da donne.
1. Brain Film Fest
Il Brain Film Fest (BFF) è un festival cinematografico internazionale dedicato a mettere in evidenza e promuovere la creazione e la diffusione di lungometraggi e cortometraggi su ogni aspetto del cervello, dalle sue incredibili capacità e condizioni alle sue patologie. Il BFF è organizzato congiuntamente dalla Pasqual Maragall Foundation e Minimal Films. Oltre ad essere un concorso cinematografico, il BFF organizzerà anche durante il festival altri eventi sociali, culturali e/o scientifici in presenza e online incentrati sul cervello.
L'ottava edizione del Brain Film Fest si terrà dal 12 al 16 marzo 2025.

Il Festival Internazionale del Cinema e dei Diritti Umani - HUMANS FEST, che si svolge a Valencia dal 2008, è una delle principali iniziative promosse dalla Fundación por la Justicia. From 2019, a new nomination "For the Best Work of Applied Animation" will be introduced, with the aim to introduce new animation forms: performances, interactive media works, applications, installations, advertisements, educational works, works of virtual reality. During the festival we present retrospectives of animation masters, organizing meetings with viewers, animation workshops, Master classes for students and industry employees with famous animation creators from abroad and Lithuania.
This festival is dedicated to all directors in particular, regardless their age and background, and to all filmmakers in general.
The purpose of Directors Awards film festival is to promote the craftsmanship of directing to the position and attention it deserves. The assessment of all the performance in the judging process will also be from the director's point of view.

Women in Film
Women play an important role in filmmaking and there are many talents out there and to celebrate Women in Film we have two categories. One programme is a focus solely on Women directors, the second programme category will focus the work of women practitioners in the roles of writers, actresses, producers and Directors of Cinematography but please note the film lead roles must be female led. If you have a film that has a strong female led role or strong female writer etc and you want to be considered for this sectin of the festival please submit to the Women Practitioners category. Film Directors should submit to the Women in Film (directors category).
General Information.
Established in 1995 the festival is now in it's 16th International Shorts edition. Kinofilm has a unique reputation for showcasing the best short films from around the world, whilst being renowned for seeking out diverse, challenging and groundbreaking new films. We welcome filmmakers that are pushing the boundaries of the short film art form. The festival maintains a high standard with many European & International award-winning shorts featured in the Festival. It includes special programmes in North West Shorts (UK), British New Wave, Euro Cine, International Panorama, Kino Exposed (student and youth shorts), low/no budget shorts, Animation and various themed programmes, giving new and emerging filmmakers the opportunity to have their work screened alongside that of critically acclaimed, established short filmmakers.
Please note for 2019, the festival will move dates to February 2020. We will further welcome short films and animations from Eastern Europe as we extend the Polish festival to include more Baltic countries. This year we welcome films for this section from Romania and Russia.
As part of out 16th anniversary we are introducing a features section called Transitions for those short filmmakers that have successfully made the transition from short film to feature. This section is for previous entrants of Kinofilm Festival and can only be entered if you have previously had a short film at Kinofilm Festival. You must provide the name of the short film and year of the festival it was screened in advance of submitting..
All short films should have been completed since January 2018 to present and be no longer than 20 mins (accept documentaries which can be up to 23 mins including credits). PLEASE NOTE FILMS SHOULD NOT BE ONLINE FOR PUBLIC VIEWING. ANY FILMS THAT ARE SEEN TO BE IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN WILL FACE DISQUALIFICATION.
WE ARE OFFERING STUDENTS (world wide) , GREATER MANCHESTER FILMMAKERS, Youths and community groups, Eastern European Filmmakers and Alumni Filmmakers 20% OF ALL SUBMISSION FEES (please see offers at the top of this entry). The discount is automatically applied when you submit your film to the relevant sections, entry fees start at just $10.00 Please note PROOF OF ELIGIBILITY MUST BE SHOWN in all these categories in advance of submitting the film, you will then receive a code to submit your film.

Please note, if your film is selected for screening in one of the cinema screenings you must be able to provide either a DCP or high-quality Bluray of your film. Please contact us if any issues with this and we will try to resolve it by showing the film in one of the other programmes not requiring either of these formats. If it playing in one of our other venues then we will require a digital version, details supplied if your film is accepted.
REFUNDS GIVEN ONLY IN THE FOLLOWING CIRCUMSTANCES: Please note if you make a genuine mistake and submit your film to us not realising that it does not fit all of the criteria, or you have to withdraw it for other reasons, we will refund your fee if the request is made only within the first two weeks from the date of submission. Films withdrawn later for other reasons such as you wish to withdraw it as your film has been accepted in another festival that requires premier status, will not receive a refund. (Please note that any refunds will be after FFW (8%) and PP (3.5%) commission fees already deducted from your fee, you will only be refunded the net amount that the festival receives).

Urban Lens Film Festival | Bengaluru: 20 – 23 September 2018 | New Delhi: 16 – 18 November 2018
Cities have always been sites of socio-economic, political and cultural churning, and cinema has provided a space to understand and reflect upon these urban experiences. In keeping with its commitment to bringing out multiple, and sometimes contesting narratives that exist around the city, the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) will host the 5th edition of the Urban Lens Film Festival in Bengaluru between 20th and 23rd September, 2018 and in New Delhi between 16th and 18th November, 2018 in association with the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan in both cities. As part of a travelling package, a selection of films will also be screened in Mumbai in association with the Godrej India Culture Lab. If your film speaks to the idea of the city and explores urban questions, please do send in your entry. Films of different genres are eligible to enter the festival – animation, non-fiction, short fiction/feature fiction, experimental and student films.

Please fill out the online form to submit the film to the festival. If an online preview screener is not available, please post two DVD copies to the address mentioned below. Please ensure it is marked “For cultural purposes only. No commercial value”

L'Icon Festival di Fantascienza, Fantasy e Giochi di ruolo si svolge ogni anno a Tel-Aviv (Israele), e dura 3 giorni.
Il programma del festival prevede proiezioni di film, conferenze, panel, workshop, produzioni teatrali originali, l'occasionale marmellata di poesie e concorsi per il pubblico israeliano di fantascienza e fantasia che ama (o curioso) di godere.
Icon è prodotto da un gruppo di organizzazioni senza scopo di lucro. Questi lavorano tutto l'anno per promuovere le fandoms e i creatori di fantascienza, fantasy e giochi di ruolo, e per sforzarsi di rendere questi generi più accessibili al loro pubblico. Montevideo Fantastic Film Festival è il primo festival uruguaiano dedicato alla promozione di produzioni cinematografiche nazionali e internazionali legate ai generi horror, fantasy e fantascienza.
