The Diabolique International Film Festival takes place September 19-20, 2014 in Bloomington, Indiana for the premiere showcase of independent genre cinema, featuring horror, sci-fi, fantasy and animation.
The Diabolique International Film Festival began more than 8 years ago. Since 2007 we have screened over 250 films from more than a dozen countries, and from almost every state in the US. We’ve had the honor of hosting visiting filmmakers from around the country, and from around the world. Over the years, we have gained a reputation as a festival that truly values independent genre films and the people who make them. Many of the movies from our past festivals have been picked up by major distributors, and our event has provided numerous networking opportunities.
As a result, we’ve been featured in a variety of national publications, having been recognized by MovieMaker Magazine as one of the “Top 25 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee,” and one of the “13 Horror Film Festivals to Die For.”
The new year brings some big changes to the festival, including a new name, new venue, and new sponsors. We’re particularly excited to announce our partnership with one of the fastest growing genre publications in the world, Diabolique Magazine. The publishers of Diabolique bring their considerable industry connections and marketing reach to the table in a way that we hope will propel this festival forward for many years to come.
In addition to a name change, we’re also excited to announce our new venue, IU Cinema on the Indiana University campus. With state-of-the-art 2K and 4K digital projection (as well as 16mm and 35mm film projection) IU Cinema offers the highest possible projection quality.
True to David Reuben's classic book "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex * But Were Afraid to Ask " we love movies that give us new insights on topics like sexual liberation, erotic fantasies, BDSM, sexual shame, cultural sexual diffrences, the "new" prudery, pornography, the impact of the internet porn on our sexuality and sex activism. The discourse with the filmmakers and actors is very important to us. Therefore we try to invite as many protagonists and directors as possible to our festival and thus offer the audience the opportunity for a dialogue.

FARCUME 2026: il 16° Festival internazionale del cortometraggio di Faro
Dopo cinque anni di crescita senza precedenti, FARO 1540 (Associazione per la difesa e la promozione del patrimonio ambientale e culturale di Faro) è orgogliosa di annunciare la sedicesima edizione di FARCUME. Il festival tornerà nel cuore di Faro, in Portogallo, dal 16 al 18 ottobre 2026, consolidando la sua reputazione di vero punto di riferimento culturale internazionale e cosmopolita.
La nostra missione rimane ferma: fornire un trampolino di lancio per nuovi talenti e portare al pubblico opere di alta qualità che spesso non hanno la promozione tradizionale che meritano. All'interno della nostra tipica atmosfera rilassata e informale, FARCUME rende omaggio alla creatività e alla dedizione di registi, attori e team tecnici che raggiungono l'eccellenza cinematografica con mezzi modesti.
Il tema del 2026: l'umorismo come modo di pensare il mondo
Quest'anno, FARCUME esplora il concetto di risata come linguaggio critico sofisticato. In un'epoca di sovrapposizione di crisi ambientali, sociali e politiche, l'umorismo funge da ponte. Ci consente di:
Decostruire le narrazioni e le norme sociali dominanti.
Colma il divario tra questioni complesse come la sostenibilità e la comprensione da parte del pubblico.
Dialoga attraverso la satira, l'ironia e l'assurdo per svelare le contraddizioni del nostro tempo.
Più che una risata momentanea, stiamo cercando film di finzione, documentario e animazione che utilizzino l'umorismo come strumento di riflessione, opere che rendano il mondo più leggibile e, in definitiva, più umano.

In qualità di ONG ambientalista, FARO 1540 garantisce che FARCUME sia più di un semplice schermo per film; è una piattaforma di valori. Il festival mantiene una posizione etica rigorosa, rifiutando qualsiasi contenuto che incoraggi la mancanza di rispetto ambientale, la disuguaglianza dei diritti umani o l'abuso di animali.
Inoltre, stiamo implementando un piano di gestione ambientale specializzato per il 2026 per ottimizzare le risorse e ridurre al minimo gli sprechi, garantendo che l'impronta ambientale del festival sia tanto responsabile quanto le storie che raccontiamo.

Since its 1st edition in Barcelos in 2008, the ART&TUR Festival has effectively fulfilled its mission of making known to the world the best audiovisual productions in Portugal and in the world.
As a forum for sharing experiences, the ART&TUR Festival has achieved a high international recognition, thanks to the quality and quantity of films that it distinguishes annually, as well as its integration into a worldwide network of similar festivals: CIFFT (International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals) that annually elects the best tourism film worldwide, among all the films that travel the international circuit of 16 festivals.
From 2018, ART&TUR Film Festival rights were transferred from APTUR to Centro de Portugal Film Commission (CPFC). Associated to this change, and thanks to an agreement between the CPFC and the Regional Tourism Entity of Center of Portugal, the ART&TUR Festival will now be held in the Central Region, roaming through the various municipalities of the Center of Portugal.

A touring festival of science fiction films of all sorts: animated, live action, experimental, mainstream, and just plain weird are all welcome! We're working on a three-plus hour touring festival to the Bay Area in October of 2014!

Il Rio Mountain Festival è il festival cinematografico di montagna più grande e antico del Brasile. Si svolge a Rio de Janeiro, che, nonostante sia una città costiera, è circondata da montagne iconiche. Tra queste montagne ci sono il monte Pan di Zucchero, con la sua famosa funivia, il Corcovado, con la statua del Cristo Redentore e l'imponente Pedra da Gávea. Tutti sono rappresentati nel Trofeo Corcovado, assegnato ai film vincitori.
Per cinque giorni, di solito a ottobre, il pubblico si immerge in un programma ricco di film brasiliani e internazionali sugli sport d'avventura, la natura e la cultura della montagna. Il festival offre anche concorsi e mostre fotografiche, presentazioni di libri con conferenze d'autore, laboratori artistici e attività sportive per bambini.

Il Festival Internazionale del Cinema «Prvi kadar» /First Frame è un importante evento cinematografico in Bosnia-Erzegovina, la cui missione è promuovere l'arte cinematografica di autori di tutto il mondo. Il Festival non ha nemmeno un carattere competitivo. I film competono in due categorie: documentari e cortometraggi.
Quindici edizioni del festival, un gran numero di autori interessati al festival, a dimostrazione che il festival è riconosciuto tra gli artisti di tutto il mondo, come un evento cinematografico importante e prestigioso.
Le selezioni dei festival confermano la continuità, in primis l'approccio artistico, su cui è costruita l'intera idea della prima cornice. Nel considerare la relazione tra temi e idee, si pone l'accento sull'atteggiamento dell'autore o su un'idea artistica.
