TerraLenta Film Fest is an international film festival dedicated to environmental documentaries. The Festival is based in Pignola (PZ) in Basilicata, Italy.
The aim of the Festival is to promote independent and author documentary cinema, raise public and community awareness of environmental issues, foster cultural spaces for dialogue and learning, support multimedia research, and encourage eco-sustainable actions. TerraLenta is the intention to bring original artistic forms and offbeat culture, the experimentation of new ways of disseminating environmental issues through art and research. We believe that it is necessary to give space to a different form of divulgation, so critical, innovative and far from formalising; that's the reason why we set ourselves to support subjects with authentic contents and modes of expression.
The Festival was founded in 2024 as the evolution of a long-standing experience in the dissemination of cinema on environmental themes through independent film review in the high mountains (OasiCinema Festival), in order to promote the symbiosis between visual art and environmental research in unusual contexts, deliberately different from urban spaces.
TerraLenta Film Fest will take place in July, from 23 to 27, 2025. This will be its first edition, offering a unique opportunity to explore the world of cinema with a focus on environmental themes. The festival will take place in several fascinating locations, such as the historic center of Pignola (PZ), where the screenings will be held outdoors, and some historic buildings, including Palazzo Gaeta, which will serve as the festival's main headquarters.
In addition to the film screenings, the event will feature important moments of insight, such as seminars and educational workshops centered on the environment and related themes. The guests of the festival will have the opportunity to present their works and engage in discussions with the audience. The official festival program will be made available on May 25, 2025, allowing participants to learn about the scheduled events in detail.
This is an unmissable occasion for film enthusiasts and those interested in ecological and sustainability issues, set in the charming context of Southern Italy.
We screen the best documentaries from around the world at the Roxie Cinema, the oldest art house theater west of the Mississippi. Many of our titles end up with calendared runs at the Roxie later in the year. We get great press coverage in San Francisco, the second largest film market in the country, plus industry reviews.
San Francisco is a very receptive town for documentaries and our fest has built a passionate following over the past 24 years.
LAST YEAR'S PRESS COVERAGE: https://sfindie.com/press-coverage
SF DocFest is an annual festival devoted to documentary cinema. Since 2001, this event has brought the most weird and wonderful aspects of real life to the big screen.
"What makes the scrappy San Francisco Documentary Film Festival a treasure to SF Bay Area filmgoers is its willingness to take that extra step to show films a little more out there than bog standard documentaries." - Peter Wong, Broke Ass Stuart
“Docfest offers a zippy blend of politics, music, social issues and youth-oriented subcultures. The good news is that DocFest promotes documentaries as a vibrant, irreverent form of entertainment to a younger demographic, blasting the notion of educational films to smithereens. There’s no room for anything approximating — watch it, I’m about to blaspheme – the obsessively measured and utterly somnambulant musings of Ken Burns.” – Michael Fox, KQED
“Since its inception, DocFest (May 31-June 15 at the Roxie and the Vogue, with opening night at Alamo Drafthouse) has compiled a colorful scrapbook of genuine characters in contrast to the current events survey, educational seminar or social-issue forum that defines many documentary series… There are one or two people in Off the Charts you won’t soon forget, which could be said about nearly every film in DocFest. That’s one of the pleasures of scrapbooks.” – also Michael Fox, KQED
Michael Fox just loves DocFest, here's another:
"Welcome to SF DocFest, the beloved annual compendium of odd, unusual nonfiction films from every nook and corner of our bizarro country and beyond. Waving off the pedigreed, high-profile docs that premiere at Sundance, get theatrical releases (or these days, national virtual releases) and chart a course for the Academy Awards, SF DocFest’s programmers opt for poignant, intimate works that miss the mainstream by dint of their iconoclasm and/or lack of a marketing hook." -KQED
"This week brings the kickoff to the 20th edition of SF Docfest, the rapidly-becoming-venerable nonfiction showcase that nonetheless continues to put the fun in documentary cinema appreciation. While other such showcases tend to be soberly issue-themed, focusing on the environment, activism, or some such, Docfest pursues—though not exclusively—colorful human interest stories, musician profiles, and other subjects on which there will not be a class quiz afterward." - Dennis Harvey, 48Hills

The Sorihuela del Gualadlimar Film Festival is the First Festival to be held in the County Region of the province of Jaén, which means that it already has a privileged position in the Jaén film scene. This paradise is an unknown place for many filmmakers who, upon discovering its landscapes, its streets or its people and in general all the opportunities it offers them, will choose this wonderful corner of Jaén to make their stories come true and see them on the big screen.
At the same time, we bring culture closer to its citizens so that they experience cinema, give their opinions about cinema and be a jury of the cinema that they are going to see, since one of the prizes will be the "audience prize", which will be awarded through voting. of those attending each session of the Festival, to the short film with the highest score.
One of our objectives is to show the great work that is done at a national level with the short film format and to make these filmmakers coexist with the province of Jaén.

Syncro is a national and international short film festival dedicated to elevating and showcasing the short film format. The festival offers a new approach to viewing short films by programming each film in an individual screening. We firmly believe that short films are not a lesser format or merely a learning stage in filmmaking. On the contrary, they represent cinema in its most potent and compact expression.

PASTURAS aims at raising awareness on the ancestral culture of transhumance through cinema, showcasing fiction and non-fiction films with a focus on this issue, facilitating communication between filmmakers and the audience, and providing learning opportunities to contribute to the development of this culture and the promotion of all audiovisual work around the issue.
