BREVE
Bazaar of short and vertical cinema
BREVE invites you to create short films, up to 1 minute long, shot on cell phones in vertical format.
We're interested in social commentary with sarcasm, humor, controversy, unexpected endings, lentils, blackberry juice, and cheesy old-fashioned music.
Invite your family and friends to participate and use your cell phone creatively. Film is a tool, and so is artificial intelligence.
Let's talk about the river, religious double standards, street and mountain sports, garbage, the neighborhood, the pedestrian block, family dramas, rural life, raising children, a life free from violence, machismo, consumerism, xenophobia, and bland soup.
We will accept your one-minute films until February 7, 2026, and the festival will take place at La Bellecera in Piedecuesta, Santander, on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
The 20 best one-minute films will each receive a jar of figs and 500.000 Colombian pesos.

Indy Film Fest was founded in 2004 to celebrate the art of cinema and to create a shared experience around film in Indianapolis. We are a non-profit, international, independent film festival programming both features and shorts. Our all-volunteer staff strives to bring the best films the industry has to offer to our community from home and abroad. Our programmers aim to foster new talent and help filmmakers connect with the global industry. We are also dedicated to educating and developing audiences for international and independent cinema in Indy, screening the kind of innovative, visionary work that may not normally achieve distribution in this area.
Indy Film Fest is looking for the best independent features and shorts no matter the category or genre including: live action, animated, drama, comedy, narrative, documentary, horror, sci-fi, and experimental. Our annual festival spanning over 10+ days typically programs around 25 features and 100 short films, with over 90% from submissions.
Always growing and adapting, the Indy Film Fest began as the three-day Indianapolis International Film Festival in 2004. We quickly expanded to our current 10-day format in 2006, moved our festivities to the summer in 2009, changed our name to the Indy Film Fest in 2014, and since 2018 have been back home in our original spring timeframe. Due to COVID-19 our 2020 and 2021 festivals were primarily virtual and our 2022 - 2025 festivals were hybrid 5-day in-person festivals followed by virtual availability and concluding with award-winner in-person screenings on the final weekend. That format is our goal for the 2026 festival and before selection decisions are made filmmakers will be informed of any changes to dates or format and given the opportunity to request their submission fee be applied to a future festival if those changes are not acceptable.
Alumni of the Indy Film Fest (and Indianapolis International Film Festival) are eligible for a reasonable number of free submissions. Films with significant ties to Indiana are eligible for drastically reduced submission fees. Examples of eligibility include the director or writer being a current Indiana resident or native, or the film being primarily shot within Indiana. Please contact submissions@indyfilmfest.org to see if you are eligible for either of these opportunities.

Award-winning film directors Yuri Maslak & Olga Tugaeva invite you to take part in the Berlin Indie Shorts Festival, which takes place in the cinematic capital of Europe. Berlin is a city where different cultures and nationalities meet, a city where the spirit of freedom and creativity reigns. It is a magnet for talented actors, directors, screenwriters and other industry professionals seeking to contribute to the development of cinema. It is a true centre of cinema, where new ideas are born and the most ambitious projects are realised.
The festival organisers are the creators of films that have won more than 100 awards at international film festivals. We know how difficult it is to start a career in cinema. We have travelled this path and are committed to helping a new generation of talented filmmakers. We believe that young filmmakers should have the opportunity to realise their potential and we want to create an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone involved can feel part of a great filmmaking community.
Berlin Indie Shorts Festival is not just an independent film competition, it is a platform that brings together talented filmmakers. The festival aims to present the most daring, innovative and inspiring short films, created without regard to commercial frameworks or stereotypes. It values originality, experimentation with form and content, and the ability to tell stories that make the viewer think and feel. It is a place where new ideas are born and new names are discovered in the world of cinema, an opportunity for filmmakers from all over the world to make a name for themselves, to be noticed and to be appreciated.
We gather the best works from all over the world that impress with their originality and unique approach to storytelling. Short film is the art of telling big stories with small means, capturing the spirit in a matter of minutes and leaving a mark in the hearts of the audience for years to come. Here it ceases to be the “little brother” of feature-length cinema and acquires its own uniqueness and value.
The live screening of the season’s winning films and the awards ceremony take place in the legendary creative space Heckmann-Höfe – our Berlin’s Montmartre. After the official part, the evening will continue in an atmosphere of relaxed socializing to the sound of music. Over a cup of aromatic coffee you will be able to make new acquaintances and possibly become part of projects that can change the world of cinema.
NO CLICHÉS. NO LIMITS. JUST PURE ART.

The International “Maroof” Festival organized by “Headquarters for Enjoining Good” aims to enhance social awareness, foster dialogue between artists and the community, and promote the culture of moral and social responsibility rooted in Islamic values. Following the success of its first edition, which introduced many outstanding artistic works, the second edition seeks to communicate its message in contemporary and impactful media forms.
This year’s festival places special emphasis on dynamic and shareable media formats such as short films, documentaries and animations—forms that combine visual appeal, strong narrative capacity, and accessibility through social media. Through these creative channels, Maroof Festival endeavors to present its message in innovative and influential formats, positioning itself as a pioneering cultural event promoting social ethics and responsibility.
In Islamic–Iranian culture, (amr-bil-Ma'roof and nahi anil munkar) (To guide toward goodness and away from iniquity") is not merely an individual duty—it is a collective social responsibility that requires public awareness and participation. Experience has shown that direct preaching of this principle, especially to younger generations, is often less effective. In today’s world, art and media serve as the most concise and powerful means of conveying cultural messages, inspiring creativity, and engaging society through compelling and relatable storytelling.
Themes:
1. Promoting social justice through moral responsibility.
2. The role of amr-bil-Ma'roof (ordering for acknowledged virtues) in saving resources and responsible consumption.
3. The place of this principle in building a modern Islamic civilization.
4. Promoting modesty, chastity, and moral lifestyles.
5. Gaza and the moral responsibility of Muslims.
6. The consequences of social indifference.
7. Social responsibility and civic ethics.
8. Responsible advocacy in improving administrative structures.
Special Screenings
This section presents selected works from filmmakers, countries, or curated collections (films, photographs, or multimedia projects) that align with the festival’s mission, promoting intercultural dialogue within the Islamic world and beyond.
Panels and Workshops
A series of discussions, lectures, roundtables, and training sessions featuring filmmakers, researchers, and media scholars will be held from the opening of the festival secretariat through the festival period, focusing on cinema, media, and the festival’s cultural goals.

The Valsusa Filmfest celebrates its thirtieth anniversary and has published on its website, www.valsusafilmfest.it
, the call for entries for its 30th edition, scheduled to take place between March and April 2026 in several municipalities of the Susa Valley.
This milestone marks an important achievement for a festival that, since 1997, has become a point of reference for the local community and for many filmmakers who, through cinema, have explored themes of memory, territory, rights, the environment, and social change. Thirty years of the festival represent a cultural and civic journey that has engaged generations of students, volunteers, artists, and audiences. A journey that continues today with the same founding spirit: promoting culture, fostering critical thinking, building aware communities, and reflecting on the social and political changes of our time.
Once again, the heart of the Valsusa Filmfest is its film competition, open to emerging and established filmmakers and divided this year into six sections: Cortometraggi, Disertare, Fare Memoria, Le Alpi, Videoclip Musicali, Green Screen.
The new section of this edition is Disertare, developed in collaboration with the Civilian Victims of War Association – Piedmont and Aosta Valley section, and dedicated to works that tell stories, experiences, and testimonies of nonviolence, rejection of war, antimilitarism, and civil disobedience, with particular attention to the contemporary issue of military spending and new forms of war propaganda. This section closely reflects the festival’s dedication to Fabrizio De André and its strong civic identity.
Alongside this new section, the competition includes the following categories: Cortometraggi, a free-theme section welcoming fiction films with a maximum duration of ten minutes; Fare Memoria, organized in collaboration with ANPI Valle di Susa, which invites works focused on the Italian Resistance or on contemporary interpretations of its values; Le Alpi, dedicated to exploring the mountain as a place of identity, community, environment, and adventure, with films up to thirty minutes in length; Videoclip Musicali, aimed at promoting visual and musical originality; and Green Screen, developed in collaboration with IISS Des Ambrois of Oulx, giving voice to works focused on environmental sustainability and the climate challenges affecting both the present and the future of our planet.
The full regulations, technical requirements, and details on awards are available on the website www.valsusafilmfest.it
.
To participate, filmmakers must register on the dedicated platform https://concorsi.valsusafilmfest.it
, where submissions can be uploaded until 11:59 pm on February 1, 2026.
DATES AND THEME OF THE EDITION DEDICATED TO FABRIZIO DE ANDRÉ
The 30th Valsusa Filmfest will take place between March and April 2026 in numerous municipalities of the Susa Valley, featuring screenings, cultural and artistic events that involve schools, associations, and many individuals, thanks to a network of relationships that over time has made the festival a permanent laboratory of active citizenship and critical reflection.
The 30th edition is dedicated to Fabrizio De André, the “bard and poet of the marginalized,” an artist who gave voice to injustice, marginalized communities, and the fragile beauty of nature. This dedication renews the festival’s connection to its original identity, born thirty years ago from the desire to create a space for culture, participation, and collective memory.
In 1997, Armando Ceste – a Turin-based director and visual artist, one of the founders and the first artistic director of the Valsusa Filmfest, who passed away in 2009 – designed what is still the festival’s logo today: a symbol inspired by Native American imagery (Unkathae), half North American indigenous deity and half strip of film. Ceste also created the image for the first festival poster, depicting a Native American on horseback seen from behind, evoking the beginning of a long journey often undertaken in a “stubborn and contrary direction.”
Drawing on this visual intuition, the Valsusa Filmfest now renews its journey toward the future through the figure of the legendary “Faber” and the image from the cover of one of his albums, Fabrizio De André (1981), commonly known as L’Indiano, which features an image taken from the painting The Outlier (1909) by Frederic Remington. In this image, the Native American on horseback is portrayed frontally: a proud figure moving toward us, evoking a people who resist, a memory that returns, and a path that continues—just like the journey of the festival throughout its long history and into this new edition.
TRAVEL FILM International Film Festival collects the best travel, outdoor, nature and adventure films from around the world, which were created both by professionals and by enthusiasts, and helps to get them across to the Russian speaking audience.
All best films will be shown on the big screen during the solemn final ceremony on February 14 - 15, 2026 in Moscow, Russia and will be able to struggle for the main prize and the title of the "Best travel film". As well as for the prizes in the standalone nominations.
Art District Radio & 20MAX TV organize its 9th edition of its short movie festival named "Festival du Court d'Art District" around a free theme this year that will take place on March 20, 2026 at Cinema L'ENTREPOT in Paris, France in partnership with Festhome.
This festival will accept any short movie from 1 to 20 minutes filmed after January 1, 2023. Any genre of films is accepted such as fictional or animated ones or short documentary. Those films could be made using cameras or smartphones and in French language or subtitled in French. At least one representative must be attended the festival if selected.
