The Winnipeg Real To Reel Film Festival seeks cool, clean and compelling films that inspire audiences to a greater understanding of the human journey,
Registration is now open for the 13th International Film Festival in Balneário Camboriú, a complete event that presents the best of International and Brazilian cinema to the public.
Programers seek to present the work of new or consolidated directors, who stimulate different types of sensitivity, through feature films, medium format and short films. FICBC also seek innovative audiovisual works made in different production support aimed for different exhibition formats.
Filmmakers, professionals and artists participate in activities with the public and contribute to the development of cinephiles, new professionals and critical thinking.
The Audiovisual Market includes the Screenplay Contest, Co-production Meeting, Directors' Room, Country Focus and others.
The Audiovisual Residency provides workshops, lectures and public debates with artists and professionals.
"Each year FICBC is more complete, never forgetting to give visibility to each selected film. There were many meetings between the public and professionals and between professionals from different countries that made it possible to consolidate new co-productions ”, says André Gevaerd, founder and director of the festival. For the curator, Barbara Sturm, the objective is "to show the best of current art cinema in national and international productions and by placing directors to interact with the public and press."
It is a cultural event with an innovative format that has consolidated itself as an event of great importance. Several media outlets follow its development and place it as an official part of the annual calendar of major film festivals. In ten years, presented important guests such as directors Carlos Sorín, Frederike Jehn, Helene Klotz, Hanna Doose, Beto Brant, Renato Ciasca, Sérgio Machado, Rubens Velloso, Patrícia Moran, Francisco Garcia, Chico Faganello, David Schurmann, artist Hans Op Beeck, actresses Bianca Byington, Paula Braun, Djin Sganzerla, Christiane Tricerri, actors Marcos Azevedo and Ivo Muller, critic Rodrigo Fonseca, among many others, who were present and had direct contact with the public.
THE DIFFERENT SESSIONS OF THE FESTIVAL:
Internacional: shows films that make their international or national debut. Short, medium and feature films, from all around the globe, that participate in a competition.
Nacional: Especial for Brazilian productions. Short, medium and feature films.
Live: open to new manifestations of the audiovisual language through new means of production and different exhibition supports. Expanded cinema, live cinema, installations and formats that go beyond the possibilities of the dark room.
Catarina: projects films made by directors from Santa Catarina or who have a relationship - director, producer, cast, crew, location, others - with the state of Santa Catarina.
Nocturnal: opens a window to fantastic cinema at night sessions.
Little Owl: brings programming for all ages, training young film fans.
EXA Festival is an annual Film Festival hosted at the Manuela Beltrán University in the city of Bogotá, which offers possibilities for circulation and exhibition where shortfilms are presented in order to give them awards or distinctions to different aspects of the quality in the cinematographic technique and narrative and which training and promotion activities are carried out around the film industry and the creative industries.
The Cajón del Maipo Film Festival was created in 2016. Its aim is to be a meeting point for Chilean filmmakers and animators, but also to be a transversal event, where fans can learn from professionals and where everyone can make films, from children to the elderly. In addition to the competences reserved for professionals, the FCCM includes amateur competition, exhibitions, talks, training workshops and activities around the cinema (exhibitions, shootings open to the public, etc.).
The Cajón del Maipo Film Festival will hold its fourth edition on friday 22th and saturday 23th nov 2019.
LATINUY, Uruguay's International Latin Film Festival, showcases the most recent and innovative films (short and long feature films, fiction and documentaries) made in Iberoamerica. Numerous titles, directors and producers from around the world, national and international actors and actresses, and a wide schedule of activities meet annually in Punta del Este, the main Uruguayan seaside resort. LatinUy, a classic meeting point for cultural exchange between filmmakers and movie enthusiasts, awards several prizes, both for short and feature films in competition, both from the jury and the audience.
Festival Overview
The purpose of the West Texas Film Festival is to screen diverse films from both directors and producers that would not normally be featured in West Texas as well as regional media makers. We seek short films, documentaries, features, animation and student films as well as screenplays from all over the world that have the pioneer spirit of filmmaking. We are a registered nonprofit organization in the State of Texas.
History
The festival was started by a grant in 2016 from Odessa Arts. The Education Day brings in over 100 high school students in the Permian Basin for workshops on acting, screenwriting, directing and producing. This is the third year of the festival.

The Cultural Department of the Guadalcanal City Council (Seville) announces: the 7th edition of the Guadalcanal Short Film Festival "Smile, Please," which will be held from October 23 to 25, 2025.
We are a monthly film club and invite film-makers to talk about their films.
The audience are big movie watchers and enjoy discovering the talent of tomorrow.
We encourage all film-makers to get people to come to our screenings as this is the perfect place to watch indie short films and also independent, non-theatrically released feature films.
We also have a script reading committee who are happy to read short film scripts and write up a script report.
If the committee feel that the script is worthy of being passed on to a producer or director whom we have met through our film club, we will be happy to establish a connection.
San Francisco's Another Hole in the Head Film Festival will run December 1st - December 15th 2019, at New People Cinema in San Francisco.
With this festival, we seek broader horizons than our original genre festival allows. All styles of independent film are welcome to compete. Whether it's a major production from a professional company, a student film, or a micro-budget labor of love, we are committed to giving each film due consideration.
We are located in a very receptive town for film, and we've built a passionate following over the years. 2019 will mark our 16th year among the most highly rated festivals in the world, and we're still growing!
San Francisco is the second largest film market in the country and a great promotional platform for indie filmmakers who are trying to get their film out into the world. Many films that screen at our festival spark the attention of other film festivals and film brokers/buyers. Our "theatrical home" is New People Cinema in San Francisco's Japantown. A 143-seat underground venue located in the New People Building, the Cinema is equipped with cutting-edge HD digital projection, 35mm film projection and a THX®-certified sound system. New People Cinema hosts many local film festivals including the San Francisco International Film Festival, CAAMFest, Green Film Festival, and the Japan Film Festival of San Francisco.
The Muriaé Film Festival (FCM) is a cultural event that seeks recognition and dissemination of national and regional audiovisual productions. Throughout its editions, face-to-face and online versions were built, allowing the permanence of this cultural action.
In its 7th edition, the Muriaé Film Festival reinforces its commitment to the dissemination of the Brazilian audiovisual scenario, innovating through the construction of a hybrid event (online and in person), with access to all corners of the country.

Vermenara's challenge: Trophy + 100 euros. Award dedicated to the best horror film of the edition that will be voted during the drive-in marathon on the night of the first of November.
The award is inspired by a Campania tradition, according to which the Vermenara was an evil able to install itself in the body of man (especially children) following a strong fear. A debilitating evil that could only be saved thanks to magical rituals put in place by the so-called Incarmatrice, an esoteric figure with powers that were handed down with appropriate rites.
VI INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF FILM AND SCIENCE 2024
The International Exhibition of Cinema and Science is an event that will take place at Centro Cultural Doctor Madrazo (Santander, Spain), between the 6th and 8th of November, 2024. Is admitted any work of any genre related to science and scientific divulgation.
The objective of the exhibition is to promote the production and divulgation of works that foster the positive and progressive values of science and technology, and that serve as a consultation for any type of audience. The subject is totally free and can refer to own or other people's research, hot topics in the society or scientific community, personal scientific-technical passions, basic science concepts, scientific milestones, historical figures, the science of the future or past, etc.
