The FIRE!! Mostra is the first LGBT film festival in Spain: established in 1995 by Casal Lambda, in Barcelona, it addresses affective diversity in its broadest sense through a careful selection of feature films, documentaries and short films. A selection of art-house cinema and an educational approach are its main characteristics.

Throughout two weeks at the beginning of June - mainly at the French Institute but also at other different indoor or open-air venues in the city -, a wide range of public is invited to enjoy this Barcelona cultural landmark, with stories and testimonials of free people, creators who break barriers and fighters for human rights, all of whom help with love to build a fairer and freer world.

The festival's name is a tribute to the late 20s New York magazine of the same name, FIRE!!, led by the black gay writer Richard Bruce Nugent, portrayed in one of the most iconic films of the festival, Brother to Brother, which we screened a few years ago.

10 ed. IBICINE Ibiza’s Film Festival - Astarté Awards

Ibiza, Spain

IACI, Ibicine Asociación Cinematográfica de Ibiza, and Dicho y hecho Producciones S.L. are organisations dedicated, amongst other things, to organising cultural events, notably IBICINE, the Ibiza Film Festival and its Astarté Awards, an international film festival that runs throughout the year, with its main programme taking place between January and April.

IBICINE was founded with the aim of promoting emerging national, international and Balearic film talent, fostering encounters between new creators and established professionals from the audiovisual industry on the island of Ibiza. The festival places particular emphasis on the short film as a creative format with its own distinct identity, recognising the artistic and technical excellence of these works through the Astarté Awards – a statuette designed and crafted in Ibiza in homage to the Phoenician goddess Astarté, a symbol of the island’s historical and cultural legacy; as well as featuring an Official Feature Film Section and an industry programme that includes the Ibiza Film Campus and the Ibicine ScriptLAB, amongst other activities.
In addition to the International Official Short Film Section (SOC), the festival features the International Official Feature Film Section (SOL), various parallel sections and industry activities, including the Ibiza Film Market, the ScriptLab and professional meetings aimed at fostering project development, specialised training and the creation of new opportunities for collaboration within the audiovisual sector.

IBICINE sees Ibiza as a meeting point for filmmakers, producers, distributors, streaming platforms, institutions, students and the general public, fostering the exchange of knowledge, the creation of professional networks and the international promotion of audiovisual talent.

Over the course of its ten editions, the festival has established a programme characterised by artistic quality, a diversity of perspectives, equal opportunities and a commitment to cinema as a cultural and social tool.

IBICINE has been selected by UNESCO as Spain’s representative festival within the international film tourism routes ‘Movie Travel’; it has received recognition from the Consell d’Eivissa; it was honoured with the Business Excellence Award for Best Film Festival in the Balearic Islands by Acquisition International in 2023 and 2026, and with the Hospitality Award for Festival of the Year by LUXlife magazine in 2024, amongst other national and international accolades.

Since 2022, IBICINE has been included on the official list of partner festivals of the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and is a qualifying festival for the Goya Awards in the categories of Best Fiction Short Film, Best Documentary Short Film and Best Animated Short Film.

Short films awarded the Astarté Prize for Best Fiction Short Film, Best Documentary Short Film and Best Animated Short Film may qualify for the Goya Awards, provided they meet the requirements set by the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the current rules for the relevant edition. Furthermore, the winners of these prizes will receive a cash prize from the festival.

Furthermore, from 2023, IBICINE is a qualifying festival for the Forqué Awards in the categories of Best Fiction Short Film, Best Documentary Short Film and Best Animated Short Film, and for the Fugaz Awards in the category of Best Fiction Short Film.
The selection committee is made up of professionals from various specialisms within the audiovisual sector, who assess the submitted works according to criteria of cinematic quality, originality, thematic diversity and technical excellence, as well as the stories’ ability to engage with the audience.

The official jury is made up of Academicians and professionals of recognised standing from various sectors of the national and international film industry, appointed by the festival’s management. Its composition will be announced in the Nominees Announcement for this edition, in February 2027. The jury chair will have the casting vote in the event of a tie.

Since its first edition, IBICINE has enjoyed the support of leading figures from Spanish cinema such as Jon Plazaola, Nadia de Santiago, Kira Miró, Inma Cuevas, Paz Vega, Michelle Calvó, Cayetana Guillén-Cuervo and María Adánez, who have served as festival patrons, as well as Belinda Washington, Eva Soriano and other industry professionals who have supported the festival.
The Astarté Awards of Honour are presented annually to professionals and institutions whose careers have made a significant contribution to the development and promotion of cinema. The decision to award these honours rests solely with the festival’s management. Over the course of this first decade, the award has been presented to: the actress Terele Pávez (posthumously), the director Isabel Coixet, the Association of Women Filmmakers and Audiovisual Media (CIMA), the actor and director Paco León, the actress Yolanda Ramos, the comedian Eva Soriano, the journalist and film critic Cayetana Guillén-Cuervo, international producer and screenwriter Axel Kuschevatzky, FILMIN co-founder Jaume Ripoll, international actor Leonardo Sbaraglia, actor Javier Gutiérrez, actress Cecilia Suárez, director Carmen Vidal, director Toni Bestard, actress Antonia San Juan, Hollywood journalist Bárbara Gasser, and journalist and presenter Elena Sánchez.

IBICINE is made possible thanks to the support of public institutions, private organisations, sponsoring companies, partners, the media and a large team of professionals who ensure that Ibiza continues to establish itself as a leading centre for cinema and the audiovisual industry both nationally and internationally.

The organisers reserve the right to make any necessary changes to the programme, venues, schedule or activities for organisational, technical or force majeure reasons, whilst always endeavouring to ensure the smooth running of the festival and the fulfilment of its objectives.

CORE International Film Festival is an event dedicated to finding the coolest short films out in the world. We're set on selecting short films that make us say "wow" and giving others a chance to see this incredible content for themselves. We're a collective of filmmakers working in the industry, and we're looking to expand our network with you! To give you a chance to screen your work with us, and network to form a connection within the film industry for yourself.

With that, we've also officially partnered with SMG Media, which will allow all of our curated short films to be eligible for a distribution deal. In short, this partnership is designed to help filmmakers earn revenue through short film distribution with Shami Media Group, if they're interested.

Our main goal is to shed light onto creations that deserve it, and to form connections between cool creators in the film world. We want independent filmmakers to get some of the recognition that they deserve. We want to bring you new opportunities to find like-minded individuals to enjoy your work, and potentially work with professionally in the future.

Officially selected films will be added to the CORE Featured Creators Catalog, where they will hold a permanent place to celebrate their achievement in excellence forever.

With that, of course, the selected films will be screened live at the Boston Premiere for the CORE International Film Festival 2020. The screening night will be a formal networking mixer followed by the official premiere and awards ceremony.

The CORE International Film Festival selections will be judged and decided on by experienced, award-winning independent filmmakers working in the industry. With that, the screening will have industry guest speakers in attendance to present awards to our filmmakers. So whether you're officially selected or not, the festival will be a blast all around!

The 8th Kinodot Experimental Film Festival
Kinodot Competition
Kinodot competition includes only one category: Experimental films. There is no genre, topic or length restrictions.

Award
Kinodot Jury Prize for the best experimental film.
The winner of Kinodot competition is decided by professional international jury.

Screening Fees
Starting from 2020 we have canceled the cash prize. Instead all films selected for Kinodot competition are now offered the screening fee of $40. For us it's a way to express our support and appreciation to the filmmakers, whose work we admire.

Submission and Other Terms
The festival will take place in St. Petersburg in the second half of May 2020 (the exact dates will be announced in January). Experimental films of any length, finished not earlier than 15.01.2018 can be submitted.

The deadline for applying to Kinodot competition is February 28. The entry fee is $10. Kinodot is an independent festival (so far, knock on wood) and the submission fees are our only source of funding.

By submitting the film to Kinodot Competition the copyright owners agree that, if selected, the film will be screened up to 4 times during the festival and up to 2 more times in the next two years during non-commercial promotional Kinodot screenings.

You can submit your film to Kinodot at Festhome.

The History
Kinodot was launched in 2012 as online minimalist short film festival at kinodot.com. In time the project has developed into independent international experimental film festival with live screenings in movie theaters and unconventional venues in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Originally films submitted to Kinodot had to match at least one of the four selection criteria*:
No Money - films made without a budget;
No Mumbling - films without dialogue or narration;
No Music - films without a music score;
No Montage - films made without editing, i.e. filmed in one shot.
*It’s no longer a requirement, rather a tribute to tradition. Yet in general we still give preference to minimalist films.

Kinodot was created to support and distribute new experimental films, and to inspire filmmakers to experiment in their own way. We promote freedom of ideas, formalism, simplicity and self-restriction as oppose to the secondary film production and self-censorship of high budget festivals. We believe that a great film can be created with very basic means, without special education or expensive equipment. We also believe that creating and following a strict set of formal rules can have a liberating effect on every artist.

The International “Festival International du Film Panafricain” (FIFP) in Cannes is a platform that exhibits cinema and its professions, arts and entrepreneurship, as well as innovation, culture and events.

The FIFP was created and founded by Mr. Eitel Basile NGANGUE EBELLE and the “Association Nord Sud Développement, agréée jeunesse et Education Populaire Ministère de la santé, de la jeunesse et des sports n° 06514”.

As a driving force behind the PanAfrican Cinema and Arts industry, the Festival is constantly seeking specific solutions for the development of PanAfrican Cinema and Arts.
With a booming Pan-African market (from Africa to the Americas through the Caribbean, Europe and Asia), the Festival benefits from expertise in the development of cinema and Fashion as well as the development of cultural affairs.

Since its creation in 2006, the DIKALO AWARDS (meaning « message » in the Cameroonian language Douala) has been awarded by a professional jury for the best short and feature films (fiction), the best long and short documentaries, the Dikalos Peace Award, as well as the best actor and actress awards.

The FIFP is a felt moment. It is a unique experience where PanAfrican cinema and African cultures and those of its diaspora around the world are the central focus. An exceptional energy is felt.

Since 2018, the FIFP in Cannes has included along with its projections, a market: the Entrepreneurship Salon for Culture and Well-Being. The objective is to enhance the economy of PanAfrican cinema.

A few years from now, the market which features pan-African arts will generate considerable sums. « Tomorrow is now ». This enormous potential must be brought forward into the light.

Such an “active dream” is an ideal that has made Africans and their diaspora what it is today. This was Mandela’s and Obama’s vehicle, as well as many others…

Pan-Africanism is an aggregate of universalism. It contains all of the lights, those of ancient Egypt and those of the future. In short, a constant beauty.

The 9th Edition of Cine Jardim – Belo Jardim Latin American Film Festival aims to strengthen the dissemination of cinema in the interior of Brazil’s Northeast, fostering the development of new cinematic perspectives and sensibilities. The event will take place from August 17 to 21, 2026, in the city of Belo Jardim, in the Agreste region of Pernambuco.

Beyond its cultural dimension, Cine Jardim establishes itself as a training-oriented festival, especially dedicated to students from Elementary School (levels I and II) and High School, from both public and private schools in Belo Jardim. By bringing young audiences closer to Latin American cinema, the festival seeks to encourage critical thinking, creativity, and the development of a more conscious relationship with the images and narratives that shape everyday life.

More than just a film showcase, the festival serves as a space for encounter and reflection, allowing participants to access more complex and profound perspectives on the diverse realities that make up Latin America.

Keeping this window open in the interior is essential to broaden horizons, spark dialogue, and foster the recognition of other ways of existence—both real and possible.

On the white screen, not only images are projected, but also paths for exchange, listening, and transformation. In this way, Cine Jardim reaffirms its commitment to building a more sensitive, diverse, and inclusive world—one that feels closer to all of us.
