Art in the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, is a very strong feature since our culture and ancient wisdom permeate the imaginaries in a whole sort of ways. So when we talk about Minas Gerais, we are talking tradition, hospitality, the act of sharing, conversing, and cooking together around the
stove, amongst family, friends, and with the table full of food and regional goods.
The value of the "mineiro" kitchen rests at the invitation to remember stories about the good old days, the art of the encounter, and the spirit of confraternization with friends and visiting pals.. If you care for a drive by the Brazilian highways, wherever you go, you'll probably face a sign with
the saying: "comida mineira"" ("mineiro food"). Here we want to accomplish the inspirational meeting between the mineiro people's two biggest passions:

FICEM is an artistic project and international film dissemination carried out from an Afrodiasporic reading in San Basilio de Palenque in Colombia, a corner of Africa in America and declared cultural and intangible heritage of humanity by UNESCO.
The festival takes its name from the first Afro-Colombian film actor Evaristo Márquez, a participant in films such as La Quemada (1969) alongside Marlon Brando and directed by Gillo Pontecorvo among others.
FICEM continues with the conviction of continuing to be one of the most suitable strategies for the conservation of heritage, history, but above all the construction of a more conscious mentality with the capacity for analysis and reflection, both in the youth and adult populations of the Afro communities and the world in general, through cinema and socio-cultural initiatives.
This time to bring to the Colombian stage all the productions and experiences that have already turned Latin America with great and successful results because they are increasingly sought after and recognized by the public.
What is the mission?
Become one of the main platforms for promotion, circulation, exhibition and distribution of horror, suspense and / or science fiction audiovisual works in the country with the purpose of publicizing and supporting quality productions to promote the evolution of cinema, favoring the development of the industry and to screen films of this kind on a large scale.
With the spirit of exchange that characterizes the Latin American universe, the Bogotá Horror Film Festival will provide venues for meeting professionals from the sector and their audience; a public alive and eager of searches that take them to transcend in the human thing.
What is the Vision of the Festival?
Bogotá Horror Film Festival is a cultural event that aims to create a space where you can live together, share and disseminate the best of cinema genres of horror, suspense and / or science fiction, Latin American and the world. Lovers of this type of cinema, besides being spectators, will have the opportunity to participate in different dynamics, screenings, talks, workshops and much more.
In the early days of cinema, with the advent of the cinematograph, the avant-garde artists found a new medium of expression, called seventh art, which was soon adopted by the major studios.
Thus, the space occupied by the Santander International Film Festival — Picknic Film Festival, is a place where films of reduced visibility and distribution, but selected for prestigious film festivals, with the approval of the press, have the possibility to be screened.
CORTOS EN CORTO emerged 10 years ago as an initiative to promote regional, national and international film work, seeking to be a meeting point where to share face-to-face and virtual projections, as well as conferences and master classes with the creative community.
