The FENAVID International Film Festival is held annually in the city of Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Organized by the Audiovisual Foundation (FUNDAV), the Festival has become the most important film event in Bolivia and one of the most relevant in Latin America.

Since its first version, carried out in 2001, more than 10,000 audiovisual works from 30 countries have been presented at this meeting, which has transcended the borders of Bolivia and America.

In each version, FENAVID offers the public more than 150 screenings of feature films, short films, music videos and a series of audiovisual works that are exhibited free of charge for the public.

FENAVID always has first-rate guests. The event was attended by internationally renowned figures such as Celso Franco, protagonist of "7 boxes", Marisol Correa, Colombian actress, Alexandre Rodrigues and Leandro Firmino de Hora (protagonists of the acclaimed Brazilian film "Ciudad de Dios"), the Argentine producer Vanessa Ragone (winner of the Oscar for Best Foreign Film in 2010), Bolivian directors Marcos Loayza and Rodrigo Bellot and Argentine actress Aymará Rovera, to name a few.

Beyond glamor and film screenings, FENAVID is a macro meeting where producers, directors, actors, specialists and a whole multitude of people passionate about cinema converge.

During the days of its realization, the Festival has a series of parallel activities, such as children's film shows, video clip competition, workshops, talks, colloquia and debates.

One of the most anticipated events of FENAVID is the Santa Cruz 100X100 Film Production Meeting. It consists of bringing together 25 emerging film talents in Latin America. The chosen ones travel to Santa Cruz de la Sierra and, during the development of the festival, have the mission of producing a short film in 100 hours.

“ZERO cinema” is an artisanal and experimental artistic approach that contrasts the assembly line of industrial film production; it is hyper-independent, produced or auto-produced by single artists or small groups (less than 10 people) with no commercial interests; it is made with common and easily accessible, or innovative and low cost, means of production.

“ZERO cinema” has a different attitude, adventurous or poetic, DIY or punk, anarchic or self-sufficient, to the video work; it speaks with a personal, intimate, courageous and autonomous voice.

“ZERO cinema” is, more than any other thing, a strong idea of cinema and artistic production.

Noli: Too Long, Too Difficult, Too Raw Short Film Festival

London, United Kingdom

Making its fourth appearance on 12th October 2025 and again at our beautiful home at Etcetera Theatre in Camden, London, Noli is the festival for short films too experimental, too daring, too real or simply too long for the mainstream circuit.

Our third edition was our most successful yet and continued our mission of building a network of like-minded artists and collaborators across London and beyond. Our fourth edition promises to be even more special as our name spreads further both at home and abroad- this is your chance to be part of something that matters.

We are looking to champion a British New Wave of filmmaking, from narrative to essay to experimental films that have a unique perspective on cinema and on modern life. We love pieces that eschew traditional, commercial narratives in favour of a bold vision, innovative techniques, and a clear aim in perspective & idea on the world through art.

Art needs to reclaim its lost sense of verve, daring to push the held conventions of current cinema and society to usher in a new wave of creation and reflection. The medium is currently stagnant and we want to be the change we wish to see by bringing art back to its grass-roots approach, jumpstarting an unshackled form of cinema that is once again subversive, in the name of entertaining avant-garde fables, piercing essay films, innovative and exciting animations or art pieces, or honest and well-crafted narratives.

We want to reflect the new, in a way that is authentically inclusive of fringe artists that are truly contributing to the medium but feel like they have no home, whether you've frequented the institutional channels like BFI, or are indie through-and-through.

As such, we are looking for realised FILMS.

Previous programmes included a pulpy modern noir following an online erotic fiction writer trying to inspire new ideas by stranding his real-life lovers in overlapping fantasies and dreams until reality itself begins to dissolve, a satirical punk-DIY essay film with an acid tongue, tying in blues music with the royal family, parallel Pierrot puppets, a Bill Forsyth-esque comedy showing an alienated young night security guard trying to make friends wherever he can, a striking Daido Moriyama & Bresson-inspired hard-hitting drama on a subversive nocturnal journey, a beautiful documentary about a reclusive author living in a yurt in Normandy, a poetic reflection on the distance between an immigrant's life in the far east and life in England with images worthy of Hou, a vision of UFOs and fairies on an English common, a moodily dreamlike experimental number following the pain of a man with a TV for a head, sun-drenched aquatic journeys along the Cornish coast, a scathingly hilarious mockumentary take on the day in the life of a dishevelled Tory MP and a showcase of animations that displayed raw emotion and hand-crafted talent.

This is exactly what we love!

Our previous events have been sell-outs, with an audience comprised of the general public, fellow film-makers and industry professionals.

We want to establish an independent network of our own that values cinema and creativity, outside of the corporatised events that have come to dominate the scene.

We're looking to fill a programme running to roughly three hours.

All submission costs go towards helping us to keep this festival running.

With this event, you are buying into cinema culture, which means having an atmosphere to be part of, a place to hang out, your own corner of London in a medium that can often be isolating and exclusive.

NOLI is all about cutting-edge cinema, where you can join us in standing for something exciting and true!
We are different to the usual festival set-up, as we are not about industry griping, but giving fresh & passionate talent a chance to contribute to something meaningful and sustainable and establish a network of (y)our own.

Hence – TOO LONG, TOO DIFFICULT, TOO REAL.
Ie. – TOO CREATIVE. TOO HUMAN.

We are named in honour of Jacques Rivette’s opus ‘Out 1’. Rivette scrawled the Biblically-derived message ‘Noli Me Tangere’ (‘do not touch me’ in Latin) across 13-hours worth of film canisters to indicate he did not want the work cut further; this instruction is sometimes included now as the film’s subtitle. We hope to carry forward his uncompromising but generous spirit.

We are not looking for:

- Visual Art pieces without a clear, personal perspective

- Films with graphic sexual assault or violence (if your film includes sexually violent or violent imagery, but is still a fully-realised piece, please just add a content warning on your submission).

- Loose projects that aren't fully conceptualised

MALDITO FESTIVAL is a videopoetic contest held in the city of Albacete (Spain) since 2017.

The festival announces the International Videopoetry Contest and the International Poetic Film Showcase with the purpose of making visible two disciplines that, both together and separately, are much more distant and forgotten than we would like.

We, as lovers of poetry, image and the expressive possibilities of their symbiosis, propose a line of action, encouraging the approach of the general public to videopoetry and poetic films.

MALDITO seeks to vindicate these disciplines as art that connects people, that transmits feelings and promotes original or different ways of seeing the world, to try to be a grain of sand that makes any kind of visual or poetic art stop being marginal and cursed.

VII NATIONAL RURAL FILM FESTIVAL OF AYACUCHO

The Rural Film Festival was created in 2016 as an initiative presented by Lic. Emilio Quiroga to the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Ayacucho, with the goal of promoting audiovisual production in our city.

Every year, we launch an open call at the national and international level for short films of fiction and non-fiction that address the concept of "RURAL" through their form and/or content. Our intention is to explore the perspective of this concept and enrich ourselves with productions from other places in our country and the world.

The Festival offers training programs and support with theoretical and practical audiovisual production tools to those who join this initiative locally. This includes teachers and students from schools and educational institutions, community centers, organizations, or simply groups wishing to participate and residing in the city of Ayacucho.

These are some of the central concepts we have implemented over the years and will continue to develop in this space:

Short film production as a powerful educational tool that strengthens cognitive skills, creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, while motivating students in an innovative way.

Basic audiovisual production training, workshops for teachers on how to guide students in creating short films. This includes teaching them the basics of planning, shooting, and editing videos. Many teachers have no previous experience in these areas, so the training helps them lead these projects.

Integrated evaluation of student-made short films across different subjects, so that teachers recognize the relevance of these projects beyond their specific area of expertise.

Collaborative projects where teachers from different disciplines (such as arts, history, literature, science, and technology) work together to create an interdisciplinary short film. This could include combining thematic areas to address a common issue from different perspectives.

Online educational resources or YouTube tutorials for teachers on how to apply film to various subjects. This may include how to shoot a scene, how to light it correctly, or how to work with sound, all at a level accessible to educators with no cinematic experience.

Access to simple editing software or online platforms (such as InShot or CapCut) that students can use at home or in the classroom to edit their projects. They can also use sound recording tools or simple effects to help with content creation.

Scriptwriting talks and courses or storyboard models that teachers can adapt to their subjects. This helps students follow a proper structure when writing their scripts, ensuring that their stories are more consistent, regardless of the area in which they are working.

We promote and encourage the cinema room in our city and other alternative screening spaces.

We foster cooperation between rural and urban schools.

We generate socio-educational projects in schools, institutes, and training centers.

We offer talks, courses, and training open to the community.

We produce audiovisual content and resources for the departments of the Municipality of Ayacucho.

We produce local short films that address fiction stories and rural documentaries, as well as other themes of interest to filmmakers.

This experience has become a phenomenon that grows each year, surpassing its initial expectations. We are motivated to make our identity known, promoting the value of Ayacuchense culture and that of our country. We emphasize human relationships and the bonds that arise from this encounter for mutual benefit.

We strengthen alliances between our community and people and groups who come to the city of Ayacucho from nearby towns, other provinces, and cities across our country, drawn by the social event and the values that the Rural Film Festival represents.

It is necessary, through our intervention, to guarantee access to a symbolic language, which is essential to navigate the world around us and construct the images and sounds of our time. This is a fundamental task for the development of society, the strengthening of democracy, equity, and access to work. We approach audiovisual media as an object to be thought about and constantly transformed.
