Slamdance 2023 will combine an in-person festival in Park City, Utah and—building upon the success of previous online editions—an accessible virtual experience for everyone to enjoy. Films officially selected for the 2023 Slamdance Film Festival may be presented in Park City, online, or both — depending on emerging circumstances.
For online viewing, films will be available exclusively through the Slamdance Channel, the festival’s artist-curated streaming platform.
While US guidelines pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic continue to loosen, Slamdance is still committed to the safety of our filmmakers and audiences as our top priority. We will continue to monitor and adapt as circumstances evolve to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging film festival experience for all attendees.

The Slamdance Film Festival is a showcase for raw and innovative filmmaking that lives and bleeds by its mantra: By Filmmakers, For Filmmakers. Slamdance has created a track record for showcasing breakthrough artists that is beyond dispute. Filmmakers who first presented their work at the festival are now amongst the biggest names in the entertainment industry. Alumni who have shown their early short films and debut features at Slamdance include Rian Johnson (Knives Out), Ari Aster (Midsommar), Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love and Basketball), The Russo Brothers (Avengers: Endgame), Bong Joon Ho (Parasite), Lena Dunham (Girls), Jon M. ABOUT PROGRAMMING
The Slamdance Film Festival accepts films in every genre, on any topic, from every country around the world. We spotlight low-budget Narrative and Documentary Features by first-time directors, Breakout Features from non-first time directors, short films across genres, and episodes. We do not disqualify any films based on premiere status or date of completion.
The festival program is selected entirely from our blind submissions pool and no films are given special treatment based on who made them or who they know. Over 200 Slamdance alumni filmmakers are responsible for the programming and organization of the festival. Comprised of a variety of backgrounds, interests, and talents, but with no individual filmmaker’s vote valued more than any other, Slamdance committees have been able to stay close to its original DIY spirit and continue to champion the bleeding-edge of contemporary filmmaking.
As always, we have no premiere or production timeline requirements. All films that have screened online as a part of a film festival are also eligible for consideration.

By establishing a working network among filmmakers, producers and marketing professionals, we share one common goal: to forge productive and lasting relationships between independent filmmakers and audiences.
As an international and independent film festival and therefore we accept submissions of all genres. To encourage our youth, we have opened several affordable categories only applicable for students.
Press will be invited to our next event where we will also film and conduct Q&A interviews with the filmmakers.
Additionally, we will be facilitating a short filmmaker round table with local industry professionals on the topic of Distribution for Independent Films.
We offer two types of submission rates. The standard categories which include Best Feature, Best Short, Best Documentary etc. and add-on categories (such as Best Director, Best Producer etc.) which come at a fixed price of $10.

The cultural association Mitreo Film Festival, for the 19th edition of the festival of the same name, announces a selection call for international short films with a maximum duration of 10 minutes, made by filmmakers under 25 years of age, developed on the central theme of “Courage”.
Courage should be not only the main plat, but it must also connotate the language and feeling, the setting and the atmosphere by which the story unfolds, whatsoever kind of genre the author narrates his story (comedy drama etc). Moreover courage should also inspire the author in such a way to make him choose a courageous form of performance, in a few words we are also looking for courageous, and daring film makers, who are able to work in a different way and from an original perspective.
It’s basically important that the theme of courage is clearly expressed in the synopsis of the work
and in the author’s notes which each candidate must produce together with the application form, under penalty of exclusion.

In-person format, it will be held in the cities of Lebu, Capital of the Province of Arauco, and in the city of Concepción in the Biobío Region, Chile, from April 1 to 6, 2025. With national and international virtual sub-venues for the exhibition of competitions. Since 2018, CINELEBU is the only festival in Chile that qualifies short films for the Oscar® Awards in three categories: International Animation, Regional Fiction, and International Fiction. and since 2023, qualifier for the Goya Awards and Marca Chile.
The theme must focus, from the values of solidarity, tolerance, culture of peace, nature and commitment to gender equality, on ways of life, traditions, trades, crafts, sustainable economy, respect for the environment and living beings, that is, all aspects of the diversity of human culture, with a specific section dealing with issues of the peoples of Siberia and Central Asia.
Epic ACG fest is a unique event showcase animation, comics and games. Though screening, exhibition and competition, bring together the creative elements, the artists and the general public from worldwide.
During the festival, EACG is also hosting the Live Demonstrations, Networking Receptions, Master Workshops, Panel Discussions, Business Symposiums, Recruiting and the Professional Exhibits offered throughout the event as well as the One-On-One Personal Consultations with creative professionals from top studios and educational institutions both local and international. #NarrarelFuturo: XII Film & New Media Festival is a meeting point for exhibition, training and industry where local, national and regional industry professionals interested in filmmaking and audiovisual in its most recent and interesting narrative and technical trends within the digital environment meet; transmedia, web and interactive documentaries, virtual reality (VR/AR/XR), webseries, artificial intelligence, futurisms, narratives and crowdsourcing/funding, vertical video and other film and new media concepts are some of the Festival's thematic axes.
Similarly, during the event, development and creation scenarios are carried out such as the #NewMediaLab, Ibero-American laboratory for the development of new media projects and the #HackathonVR360, which this year reaches its eighth edition.
We also open the doors to the Colombian and international creative industry to create meeting and conversation points around ongoing projects: 10 tips to #NarrarElFuturo, speed networking sessions and the launch of the Hispanic American Projects Database and the new media industry manual are some of the activities in which attendees from the industry area will be able to participate in this new version.
During the 12th version -which takes place from September 16 to 21, 2025, in person at various venues in Bogota (Colombia)- attendees will enjoy more than 65 hours of film and digital content, 100 hours of training scenarios, 40 international and national guests and a broad and diverse spectrum of topics, processes and projects under construction and development.
