DIVERSE CINEMA
International LGBT Film Festival of Colombia
We touch the fibers of the human being through the projection and circulation of inclusive and friendly cinema with the community; recognizing and rewarding the new acting talents of the continent and generating value to diverse communities and the Seventh Art, to change the stereotypes of Colombian society.
With our “OWN BRAND” Diverso Cinema we promote Latin American and world cinema through films, documentaries, short films and feature films that tell stories of the lives of diverse communities.
We have opened inclusive spaces such as: (Universities, Theaters, Restaurants and Bars) for the projection of films that leave an education in the spectators, encouraging a two-way economic interaction that benefits the community.
We generate income through the sale of the Ticket Office, promoting new experiences combining the seventh art and cultural tourism.
“We have managed to impact more than 3,000 spectators in general; in cities where we have screened FILMS, DOCUMENTS, SHORT FILMS, and FEATURES among others, many of them based on real events by people like you or me.
Newcastle International Short Film Festival or NiSFF is an IMDb registered short film festival open to submissions of short films in multiple genres and categories from international, Australian and regional New South Wales (NSW) film-makers. CineFest Miskolc International Film Festival is traditionally organized in September each year, in the heart of the biggest North-Hungarian city. Since the first CineFest organized in 2004, it has become Hungary’s leading and most popular film festival. Our aim is to introduce young film-making talents from all over the world and to provide an opportunity for them to present their work. Films compete in long feature and short films sections, and there’s a so-called CineNewWave section (for animation and short films) exclusively for young filmmakers from Hungary. All the films in the competition are Hungarian premieres.
Our mission is to mediate cinematographic values on an international level. To achieve this, we provide professional help to the up growing filmmaker generation, we provide a meeting point for film professionals, and we are serving film-lovers with both new film premieres and historical cinematographic masterpieces.
We have a partnership with more than 10 European partner festivals.
Programs related to the festival:
- CineClassics film historical series
- Miskolc International Film Market
- meeting of partner festivals
- annual 2-day-long professional program of the Hungarian Art Cinema Association
- roundtable talks and conferences

- documentary professional day
- “Our Home: Miskolc” filmmaking workshop

In 2019 Franco Nero and Vanessa Redgrave, in 2018 Krzysztof Zanussi, in 2017 Magdalena Vášáryová, in 2016 Juliette Binoche visited our festival and received our special award as Ambassador of European Cinema.
The film festival is organized by the CINE-MIS Nonprofit Ltd. which runs Miskolc City’s two art-cinema screens in the House of Arts that serves as the festival center. All festival screenings and related programs are free.

Threadbare:
- films crafted with artistry, despite what seams may show through.
- genre conventions thoughtlessly reiterated, losing all context of their original meaning.
...so...
What's your Genre?
The Threadbare Mitten Film Festival is a celebration of genre cinema, here in the tell-tale heart of Michigan.
We won't push you into a box:
Horror, Sci-Fi, Contemporary Western, Neo-Noir, Absurdist Comedy, Fantasy, Splatterpunk, Magical Realism, Creature Feature, Psychological Thriller, Modern Samurai, ZomRomCom, Exploitation and Grindhouse, Road Trip, Documentary ad Mockumentary, Experimental and Non-Narrative... whatever weird quirks spark your camera rolling, we want to give you an exhibition home to exorcise them with an appreciative audience.
(and if being pushed into a box is your thing, well ok, show us that!)
As the Michigan Film and Digital Media Office says:
"Think of the Threadbare Mitten Film Festival as the anti-genre, but all-genre film festival, if that makes any sense. Truly a grassroots festival if ever there was one."
- June Newsletter 6/12/18
We do not categorize submissions by genre, only by duration. We will program screening blocks based upon the characteristics of the selected films themselves.
