The Colli Albani or Castelli Romani area has been the setting for numerous national and international films, starting with "Inferno" in 1911, considered the first Italian feature film.
To then remember "The Leopard" by Visconti, "Nights of Cabiria" by Fellini, " quel pasticciaccio brutto di Via Merulana " by Gadda, many of Totò's films, up to "the stolen children" by Amelio, " il marchese del Grillo” by Monicelli, “il Vigile” by Zampa and many others until the recent “all you need is crime” by Giallini.
The Colli Albani Film Festival was therefore born from the need to honor this territory linked to cinema in the best possible way, giving space to Italian and foreign authors to present their works, creating concrete opportunities for professionals in the cine-audiovisual world.
Furthermore, it will be an opportunity for the local population to get closer to cinema to see and vote for the works selected at the festival.

Intras, mental health and culture: ‘Visionando’
In Intras we think that mental health is a very broad term that recognizes cultural, social, philosophical and historical aspects beyond the purely biological and sanitary. That is why this Festival seeks to collect and show all possible views in order to make visible different realities and combat the stigmas associated with mental health problems.
From this perspective we present the II International Festival of short films ‘Visionando’ to be held between October and November 2025 in the city of Valla-dolid as the main venue.
Why ‘Visionando’?
‘Visionando' was born in 2023 as a film series with the collaboration of the City Council of Valladolid, creating a space in the city to reflect on mental health. In the last quarter of the year, 5 films were screened followed by a colloquium with mental health, film and media professionals. They addressed different perspectives on mental health: family, emotional and social relationships, care, the passage through psychiatric units, new technologies and their impact, gender violence and its therapeutic approach, community integration and the importance of employment as a normalizing tool.

The FICNOVA International Film Festival on Active Nonviolence is held every two years around October 2nd, the International Day of Nonviolence declared by the United Nations.
It is organized and promoted through volunteer work by the non-profit humanist association FICNOVA, inspired by Universalist Humanism, along with other associations, organizations, and individuals who share the transformative sensibility of active nonviolence.
After its first seven editions held in different cities in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mauritania, Mexico, Peru, the Czech Republic, and Spain, activists from different cities and countries are once again participating together in preparation for the eighth edition of FICNOVA 2026.
FICNOVA is a thematic festival that brings together films from around the world that showcase examples of active nonviolence as ways to overcome violence, discrimination, and human suffering.
In this edition, we will pay special attention to those works that best demonstrate NONVIOLENCE as a universal reference, transcending personal egocentrism, interested only in oneself, and the group of factions, interested only in those "like me." We will highlight those productions that aspire to want the best for every human being, and thus move FROM ME TO WE.
From this general context, we share the following participation guidelines for the 8th Edition of FICNOVA 2026.

We are a certainty and we want to confirm it, consistency, stubbornness and desire to be there distinguish us.
SHORT FICTION 25th year in the midst of chaotic communication, but with videomakers with interesting and worthy ideas for an audience thirsty for alternative and beautiful reflections. "Island of dry land in the middle of the tides" wrote F. Battiato.
Meanwhile, the bureaucracy advances relentlessly for everyone, the desire to be protagonists in the audiovisual system does not abandon us. Now it's your turn to continue the challenge and demonstrate that we are alive as well as physically... we are intellectually and with our heads held high, we are waiting for you!
Sleeping Owl Film Fest event which aims to discover and recognize new talents from all over the world. It was created in order to support short filmmakers providing a critical evaluation of their work.
What makes a short film a great film it's not how ambitious the story is, but the way the story is being told. The ingredients to have a great short film are a great script, directing, camerawork, lighting and editing.
There are a lot of films that are interesting, but have a careless sound. Every filmmaker must care about the sound before the shooting, it's one of the most important cinematic elements. Catch great actors, not models! It's another advise we provide so that stories can be told in a real way, not in a theatricality way.
