Trieste Science+Fiction Festival is a multidisciplinary event devoted to the exploration of the realms of the “fantastic” genre, and the use of new technologies and experimental languages in film, television and visual arts. Its main purpose is to present and promote, in Italy and in its neighboring countries, “fantastic” productions from all over the world, focusing particularly on science-fiction and fantasy cinematographic and audio-visual works.
The 17th edition of Trieste Science+Fiction Festival will run October 31, 2017 - November 5, 2017.
Trieste Science+Fiction Festival is organized by the Italian film center La Cappella Underground. Since 2005, Trieste Science+Fiction Festival has been a member of the E.F.F.F.F. – European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation

La novena edición del Festival CineMigrare, que se celebrará en 2025, tendrá lugar del 15 al 29 de julio en Pedara (Connecticut).

Our mission is to engage the Gulf of Mexico Community through education and film and to showcase the work of local filmmakers. If you have a short film addressing an ocean or coastal issue concerning the Gulf of Mexico, from your own backyard to the deep sea, please think about entering it into our Harte of the Gulf Film Competition.
Films should be no longer than 15 minutes and address an ocean or coastal topic concerning the Gulf of Mexico region. Films can be fiction or nonfiction.
In an effort to include filmmakers from around the entire Gulf of Mexico region, films will be accepted in languages other than English, but must have English subtitles. You can submit your film into one of two categories: High School or General Public.
Make It Short is a two-day short film festival covering a range of topics from all over the world. Through short films we can experience a huge range of subjects and styles, and our festival includes social commentary, humour and animation. Although we are presenting work on certain themes each short film also stands alone.
This is our first Make It Short. As well as adult submissions it will include shorts created by local schoolchildren and students, and by Brazilian children as part of our cultural exchange programme.

GBFF festival takes place over several weeks starting mid-January and wrapping up March of 2018. Specially selected films have an opportunity to be played in the festival segment called "Films Around Town" (playing in various venues around town) leading up to a weekend event March 1-4, 2018 at St. Norbert College.
This year the festival is focusing on more networking opportunities for filmmakers over the March 1-4 weekend! More events, engagements and seminars all within walking distance of the St. Norbert college venues. The Great Lakes International Shorts Festival has officially opened its Call for Entries and is now accepting films of all short lengths and genres including Narrative, Animation, Experimental, and all forms of Horror, Suspense, Sci-Fi, and Thriller films, along with Comedies, Religious/Spiritual, Music Videos, and Documentaries, and GLBT films, for the 2019 season.
The 2019 Great Lakes International Shorts Festival shall accept Music Videos from around the world of cross-continent and cross-genre productions. El Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes intergeneracional sobre Personas Mayores (FICMA) nació en el seno de la Federación de Asociaciones de Mayores de Salamanca (FAMASA) con el objetivo de brindar una oferta cultural que contribuya a mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas mayores, con dependencia o discapacidad, acercándolos a una ciudadanía plena y ofreciendo el patrimonio cultural del que son protagonistas. Se celebra todos los años en el mes de octubre desde el 2016 en la ciudad de Salamanca, siendo un encuentro de cultura intergeneracional.
El Festival se plantea como un lugar de debate y discernimiento para preguntas como: ¿De que manera ha tratado el cine a las personas mayores? ¿Cómo se refleja el papel de las personas mayores en la familia, las relaciones sentimentales, afectivas y sociales?. ¿Repercute la influencia del cine de manera positiva o negativa en los estereotipos y creencias que genera la sociedad sobre la tercera edad y los mayores? ¿Trata de la misma manera a hombres que a mujeres?
La importancia de dignificar las relaciones intergeneracionales entre jóvenes y mayores se vuelve vital para encontrar caminos hacia un futuro mejor.
OBJETIVOS
El objetivo del FICMA es conseguir que los salmantinos se acerquen al cine desde la perspectiva de las personas mayores. Este festival es una excelente oportunidad para ofrecer una fiesta del cine a la ciudad y una visión activa y positiva de este sector de la población. El festival tiene como meta resaltar lo positivo de las personas mayores y reforzar las relaciones intergeneracionales.
IFF ZOOM - ZBLIZENIA (Jelenia Góra) es uno de los festivales de cine independiente más grandes e importantes de Polonia. Su objetivo es presentar el cine de autor, ambicioso y de alto valor artístico, con temáticas conmovedoras, independientes y originales, así como promover el arte cinematográfico independiente.

The government has been the main provider of education in many parts of the world. However in emerging economies, the private sector is playing a pivotal role. Many poor parents forego free government education and spend their hard earned money on private alternatives. There have been lots of stories of creative innovations and solutions devised to tackle challenges and issues in Education.
EduDoc: Stories of Education is an International Short Film Competition by Centre for Civil Society (CCS) where we want to put Challenges, innovations and celebrations in the spotlight. The main objectives are:
• To identify and document social, political, cultural and regulatory challenges of education system through audio-visual medium
• To highlight various solutions devised by individuals, groups, communities, organizations, governments etc

MiTS es un festival que utiliza la videodanza como herramienta de movilización y transformación social.

El FIC AUTOR (Festival Internacional de Cine de Autor) está interesado en películas únicas y artísticas que superan los límites de la narración tradicional. Buscamos largometrajes y cortometrajes que reflejen la visión creativa personal del director y un estilo lo suficientemente distinto como para brillar en el proceso colectivo.
No nos importa si tus películas tienen estrellas reconocidas o nombres desconocidos; estamos en contra de la política y la burocracia que inundan la industria cinematográfica. Queremos que nos reconozcan como un festival objetivo. No queremos construir nuestra reputación basándonos en cuántas superestrellas están presentes; lo que queremos es el mejor cine mundial de nuestros cines.
FIC AUTOR se esforzará por ser uno de los eventos culturales más importantes de la ciudad. ¡Aspiramos a convertirnos en un centro de atención internacional para los nuevos directores!

-La ceremonia de entrega de premios tendrá lugar en el CINEFORO, uno de los cines más grandes de la ciudad con 440 asientos, y es el más prestigioso.
No somos como otros festivales de toros, NO tienes que pagar tu premio. ¡ES UN PREMIO, NO UNA DEUDA! Y no regalamos trofeos de metal o vidrio... Nuestros trofeos están hechos 100% de plata y piedras semipreciosas.
