Now in its 7th year, Damnationland is an invitational Maine-based short genre fest. We work hard to feature the best filmmakers and films from Maine. Our premiere event draws over 800 excited film fans to the beautiful State Theater in Portland every year in early October. The program then tours all over Maine before moving on to festivals and other screenings around the world. Last year, we screened from Ohio to Singapore, with a couple stops between.
This year, we are adding an international film competition to our annual get-down. In 2017, Damnationland will be featuring independent films from across the world for the first time. No longer contained to the borders of Maine, Damnationland is now opening up a few precious slots to filmmakers from around the world.
The highlight of the program will still be the premiere of 7 Maine-made dark genre pieces at the State Theatre. It's a huge event, with over 800 film viewers lining up last year to see Maine's best. But this year we will be supplementing the Maine shorts with additional screenings. All weekend, we hope to show the best dark genre work from around the world.
We want to show filmmakers outside of the state what Maine can do, and expose their films to our own rabid Damnationland audience.
So send us your dark genre films! We are looking for things that are dark, scary, disturbing, seedy, or just downright weird. Take a look at the archive on our website to see what sort of films we feature.
We can promise you great crowds for your screenings and a great time in one of the best small cities in the country. Winners will also receive a travel stipend to attend the festival here in Maine in mid-October. Our primary goal is to get you here. You show us your film, and the we can show you ours!

MISSION & ZIEL
F3: Offly Film Fest ist ein Festival, das die Vielfalt des Films umfasst und Filme, die nicht in die typische Form des Filmfestivals passen, ein Schaufenster gibt. Wir versuchen, den Experimentellen, den Fanfilmen, den 48-Stunden-Filmprojekten, den Studentenfilmen, den Filmen, die vielleicht nicht so ein Happy End haben, den Filmen, die das Publikum zum Denken und Fühlen herausfordern.
ÜBER DAS FESTIVAL
Gegründet im Jahr 2004 von Frank Zoe Productions als ein einmaliges Festival, das ihr Youth Summer Movie Program fördern soll, hat F3: Offly Film Fest während des Festivals 2005 27 Filme gezeigt. Im Jahr 2016 hat sich Zoe Productions entschieden, F3 in Verbindung mit dem zehnten Jahrestag von Un-Con wiederzubeleben, einer unkonventionellen Konvention, bei der alle Genres von Fandom willkommen und akzeptiert werden. Entsprechend dem Thema „Alle Genres sind willkommen“ der Un-Con ist F3 ein All-Genre-Festival.
Das 2016 F3: Offly Film Fest erhielt 685 Einreichungen aus 39 verschiedenen Ländern. Von diesen 685 Filmen wurden 50 ausgewählt, um während des Wochenendfestivals zu sehen. Es gab Auszeichnungen für „Best Short“, „Best Feature“, „Best Student Film“ und „Best of Fest“.
Für das Festival 2017 wurde F3 ein Kurzfilmfestival. Das Festival erhielt 499 Einreichungen aus 41 verschiedenen Ländern. Auszeichnungen wurden für „Best Student Short“, „Best Non-Student Short“, „Best of Fest“, „Judges Choice“ und „The Steve Turner Award“ vergeben.
Für das Festival 2018 wurden 401 Beiträge aus 40 Ländern eingegangen. 40 Filme wurden auf unserem Festival gezeigt.
Um allen Filmemachern gerecht zu sein, wird keine Gebührenausbefreiung gewährt.
The Lake Champlain International Film Festival (LCIFF) turns the spotlight on new films and filmmakers working in any and all genres and forms of film. Good, old-fashioned entertainment and cutting-edge artistry will be showcased in equal measure. Set in Plattsburgh, nestled in the heart of the Adirondacks, LCIFF takes place in November along the banks of Lake Champlain.
The screenings will take place at the Strand Theatre, a landmark of cultural and historical importance. Located in the heart of downtown Plattsburgh, the Strand was originally built as a Vaudeville Theatre in 1924 and is currently on the National Registry of Historic Places. Das Art Non Stop Festival ist das in Buenos Aires, Argentinien, gegründete internationale Film- und Kunstfestival, das vom 26. bis 28. Oktober stattfindet. Organisiert vom Produzenten Arte Non Stop und kombiniert Kino, Malerei und Skulptur unter dem exklusiven Thema Kino.
Der Grund für das Festival ist die Förderung der Kunst in all ihren Ausdrucksformen. Es bietet den Künstlern und Bildhauern Jahr für Jahr einen neuen Raum, in dem sie ihre Kunstwerke mit den Kunst- und Belletristikfilmen interagieren können, die aus der ganzen Welt an verschiedenen Wettbewerben und Kategorien teilnehmen, wobei Veranstaltungen und Ausstellungen der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich sind.
Es ist ein offizielles, unabhängiges Festival mit kostenlosen Ausstellungen und wechselnden Veranstaltungsorten, die es Jahr für Jahr erneuert - Unkonventionelle Projektion, Not in Kinos -, weil es versucht, neue Kunsträume zu entdecken und zu fördern und neue Zuschauer zu gewinnen.

Das Lesgaicinemad Madrid International LGBTIAQ+ Film Festival ist ein LGTBI+-Filmfestival, das im spanischsprachigen Raum stattfindet. Die erste Ausgabe fand 1996 statt. ReAnimania International Animation Film Festival of Jerewan wurde 2008 von Karikaturist, Maler und Animator Vrej Kassouny gegründet.
Armeniens Animationsgeschichte begann 70 Jahre zuvor mit der Veröffentlichung des ersten armenischen Films Lev Atamanov (geb. Levon Atamanyan) Der Hund und die Katze im Jahr 1938.
In dem Bemühen, das Handwerk sowohl im Geiste als auch im Namen zu ehren, hat das Festival seither die Kunst des animierten Filmemachens dem armenischen Publikum wieder eingeführt.
Das Festival umfasst eine Auswahl von mit Spannung erwarteten nicht-kommerziellen Features und Shorts mit 15 Turnier- und Nicht-Wettbewerbs-Programmen und ein Marktforum für Animationsprofis (MARANI). A judged film festival described as "Sundance with Fangs" by Newsday Long Island. We provide a venue for showcasing your films within a celebratory & respectful environment, where fans can enjoy the independent films entered by those of you who passionately craft your Strange-ifical, Weird-ifical, Horror-ifical, Sci-fi-tastical, Fantastical and Macabre-licious films. The opportunity to win awards, increase film visibility via press and possibly obtain distribution is always part of the equation with the Macabre Faire Film Festival.
For starters the word "Macabre" is pronounced: Ma-Cob. The "re" is hardly ever heard. What does it mean?
Although it is an adjective meaning: disturbing and horrifying because of involvement with or depiction of death and injury, WE ARE NOT SOLELY A HORROR FILM FESTIVAL but instead a whole lot more than that. We usually approach the Macabre Faire Film Festival with a lighter touch in the sense that, not all of the films screened are horror and instead many may simply be considered a bit on the darker side. Of course, we will add some horror to this festival but, when we hear the word "Macabre" we remember those hauntingly fascinating films that starred legendary greats such as:
Vincent Price & Peter Cushing or those fantastic Gothic horrors like the "Hammer" films. These names in themselves represent what "macabre" means to us. What we are saying is that the word "Macabre" DOES NOT mean we only accept HORROR films but instead that we welcome those films that can tap into our fears through what you don't see or hear. A dark drama, mystery, suspense, thriller or dark comedy can do a lovely job making us feel uncomfortable in the dark. So folks, this is what many of the films selected for the Macabre Faire Film Festival offer. A buffet for any pallet. About the only thing we may have to say "No Thanks" to would be a romantic comedy/drama... unless, there's a monster under the bed during love making or other dark element.
All submitted films are pre-screened by select judges that includes Eileen Dietz, our Festival Ambassador, of the original "The Exorcist" film to ensure the films have followed guidelines and are an overall fit for the festival. Then the films are passed on to another set of judges consisting of more filmmakers, film critics, genre film fans and or seasoned actors to choose the Official Selections. Once these selections have been identified there is an additional judging process in collaboration with the original pre-screening judges to identify the different category nominees. Once you have been notified we insist on having the film festival entry form filled out and submitted back to the festival via email or snail mail within 4 weeks of acceptance. This form can be found on our website or it has been emailed to you as an attachment with your initial welcoming email.
URGENT NOTE: IF THERE IS NO CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN THE FESTIVAL AND INDIVIDUAL WHO SUBMITTED THE ACCEPTED FILM WITHIN 4 WEEKS FROM INITIAL ACCEPTANCE NOTIFICATION, WHICH ALL FILMMAKERS RECEIVE FROM FESTHOME BY DEADLINE DATE, YOUR FILM WILL NO LONGER BE AN OFFICIAL SELECTION IN THE MACABRE FAIRE FILM FESTIVAL. So we urge everyone to check their spam folders at all times and or ensure to make contact with the festival within 4 weeks of the acceptance notification. Failure to do so will exclude your film from the festival. Please take the time to ACTUALLY READ all the pages of the submission form which contains mailing address information (if needed) and other very important details which includes getting your discs or film posters sent to the festival in a timely fashion. This does not mean mailing materials in 2 weeks before the event as they will not be accepted.
Moving on...
January's festival always falls on Martin Luther King Jr weekend for easy remembering. This 4 day event start with Thursday and Friday being solely screening days with minimal panels within 3 screening rooms. The festival continues for another 2 days with Saturday screenings starting at 12pm into midnight within 4-5 screening rooms and an intimately sized vendor room with additional panels available for guests. Saturday evening is capped with an elaborate Red Carpet Gala Award Ceremony that offers a glamorous atmosphere filled with Press, Photos, Entertainment, Dinner and Awards! This is NOT to be missed.
Sunday captures the conversations from the night prior winners and more. A perfect day to catch those shorts you may have missed as it usually hosts an encore segment for short films from 12pm until 6pm. Be sure to visit the vendor room before the day is over and sit in on another panel or other special treat before it all ends until the following year.

Women in Focus emerged in 2009 with the aim of encouraging the promotion and protection of women's rights through film, through the dissemination of films that allow give visibility to the violation of their rights and encourage debate.
