FILOSOFÍA DEL FESTIVAL
Un certamen destinado al cine trascendental, en sus diversas de acepciones, incluidas las filosóficas, antropológicas, religiosas, psicológicas, científicas, y por supuesto el cine poético.
Porque lo espiritual en el hombre y el mundo, aunque sentido, en ocasiones puede ser indecible, y en esto el arte cinematográfico tiene ciertas ventajas, y una gran responsabilidad.
CINE LIBRE, SOSTENIBLE, COMPROMETIDO
Todas las posibilidades libertarias de cine son bienvenidas, dedicándosele especial atención a las rarezas inclasificables.
UN SIN TIEMPO
Cinemística como espacio-tiempo abierto, con características poco restrictivas de participación, dejando a los autores gran libertad en sus propuestas: Se aceptan todos los formatos, duraciones, nacionalidad, año de producción, etc.
UN REFUGIO
Un refugio a nivel internacional para las obras cinematográficas que pretendan, argumental o técnicamente, el acercamiento al gran misterio de la representación del mundo, en el arte y en el hombre. Sin dogmas, bajo cualquier perspectiva individual o colectiva, desde la fe pero también desde el agnosticismo, la espiritualidad atea y el cientificismo.
UNA POÉTICA DE LO CONTEMPLATIVO
Las miradas de los cineastas, en toda su diversidad socio-cultural, acogiéndose con interés cualquier film fruto del descubrimiento personal, de la investigación o experimentación, de la inspiración y del trabajo, de la revelación e introspección de sus autores. La cotidianeidad, la estasis y la disparidad como estructuras para crear profundidad en el tratamiento fílmico.
EL ASCETISMO
La mística y el ascetismo en la producción cinematográfica representan posiblemente un estado más absoluto que otros, pues siempre se podrá hacer un cine con mayor presupuesto y con creciente complejidad técnica, pero a veces no se puede hacer un film más pobre ni humilde en lo material, y sin embargo, esa es la cuestión, sencillo y universal a la vez.
EL TODAVÍA
Cinematografías de la impermanencia, del todavía, del cine "amateur" (del verbo amar), directores caracterizados no sólo por lo que muestran y por cómo lo muestran en la pantalla, sino por lo deciden no mostrar, evitar (técnica y argumentalmente), atendiendo a la inacción, a lo inenarrable, en experiencias artísticas tan milagrosas como cercanas.
LA FENOMENOLOGÍA
Lo que aparece y desaparece, la emergencia de topologías, materiales o conscientes, y su invisibilidad o extinción ulterior. Los alrededores secuenciales del vacío, de la materia y del tiempo. Los huecos del discurso, tan elocuentes, cada uno los entiende a su manera. Ausencia y milagro: La Mística como un posible habitar en común.
CORDIALIDAD, COMUNICACIÓN Y COLOQUIOS
Gran importancia en el certamen hacia los coloquios y de la interacción en directo entre espectadores y cineastas. Máxima comunicación, respeto, simpatía y cercanía de la organización hacia los cineastas, artistas y directores que vienen a presentar sus películas.
In March 2004 the 1st international short film festival for films by artists was held in Gstaad, Switzerland, with the ultimate prize being 'The Golden Cow of Gstaad'. For the organisers of Gstaad Film, the event was a great success: Many artists made use of the possibility to present their works at the festival & the quality of the program was high, attracting many films from Switzerland and entries from as far away as Argentina. The three days of the festival gave many possibilities for interesting contacts, not only for we the organisers, but also for a numerous and interested audience who were left excited, enthralled and enriched by the experience.
The positive reaction generated over the three-day period encouraged us to start organising a second festival. To improve the organisation and to give the participants/entrants more time, we decided to organise the festival in a two-year cycle, as a biennale.
MECAL PRO, Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes y Animación de Barcelona es un festival dedicado a las películas en formato corto tanto nacionales como internacionales.
La larga trayectoria de MECAL PRO lo ha consolidado como uno de los festivales de cortometrajes más importantes de Europa y del mundo, recibiendo, así, el respaldo de instituciones locales, nacionales e internacionales. Hemos proyectado en el 2025 más de 300 cortometrajes en 29 secciones que programamos.
Mecal Pro tiene la misión de promover la exhibición y circulación de la creación audiovisual en formato corto, no solo al público en general través de su proyección, sino también de cara al mercado, fomentando el encuentro de los profesionales del sector a través de diferentes actividades. Así mismo, está comprometido con el talento joven, con lo que cuenta con premios y actividades especiales para ayudar a impulsarlo. En este sentido, el festival funciona como una red de difusión de las obras presentadas, mediante proyecciones nacionales e internacionales y a través de colaboraciones con otros festivales y eventos como el Mecal Air o Mecal Rooftop.
Le festival La Garenne\Tout Court propose un projet culturel unique dans les Hauts-de-Seine : une compétition de courts-métrages qui valorisent la création indépendante, française et européenne.
Le festival présentera donc trois sélections de courts-métrages.
La première sera composée de fictions réalisées sans le soutien du CNC ni des chaînes de télévision. Non pas que le festival s’inscrive contre ces sources de financement, mais nous ne voulons pas créer un énième festival où seraient exposés des films qui ont déjà une belle vie ailleurs.
La Garenne\Tout Court, c’est un espace de diffusion parallèle, dédié aux œuvres insolites, un soutien à la diffusion de films plus fragiles.
La deuxième aura pour ambition de faire découvrir des films originaux venus de toute l’Europe.
La troisième sélection aura pour objectif de sensibiliser le jeune public autour d’un ciné-p’tit déj.
Aucun genre n’est imposé, la seule contrainte déterminée à l’avance est celle de la durée : 15 minutes pour les sélections française et européenne et 10 minutes pour le ciné-p’tit déj.
Un comité de présélection composé de membres de l’association 2euxième Acte retiendra une trentaine de films. Les films sélectionnés devront répondre à des impératifs d’originalité, de qualités artistiques mais aussi techniques.
Le festival La Garenne\Tout Court est également un lieu de convergence entre les acteurs du monde cinématographique et un moment de rencontre privilégié et convivial avec le grand public.

The On-Line Festival presents films accepted into ALL categories – Drama, Comedy, Horror, Documentary, Animation and the local Three Counties competition. The On-Line Festival will be available for 3 weeks after the festival in Beeston.
The Beeston Oscar, or B’Oscar, is awarded to the best film in the following categories - Drama, Horror, Comedy, Documentary and Animation.
This year a new local competition has been created called Three Counties category, that is split into two sections: Long (up to 15 minutes); and Short (up to 5 minutes). Filmmakers from Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire ONLY with films in any genre can submit. The prize pool is amazing because we have teamed up with Matthew Martino Benevolent Fund (MMBF), a UK based international charity that supports filmmakers and actors, so as well as a B’Oscar there is
Three Counties Long - a MMBF Rising Star Award (£150 prize, mentoring plus physical award and other perks)
Three Counties Short - a MMBF Best Short Award (£50 prize and physical award).
Further prizes will be awarded for Best Director, Best Script, Best Cinematography, Best Acting Performance, Best Soundtrack & Sound Design and an Audience award, too. And, of course, there is a wonderful Best in Festival B’Oscar, too, designed by the renowned ceramic artist, Anna Collette Hunt.

An organization dedicated to the recognition and encouragement of sex-positive and kink-friendly depictions in film and television, CineKink is seeking films and videos that explore and celebrate the wide diversity of sexuality for our annual NYC-based festival.
Scheduled for its 12th annual appearance in February 2015, the specially-curated CineKink NYC will include a short film competition, audience choice awards, an adult industry showcase, presentations, parties and a gala kick-off, with a national screening tour to follow.
Cutting across orientations, topics covered at CineKink have included — but are by no means limited to — BDSM, leather and fetish, swinging, non-monogamy and polyamory, roleplay and gender bending, sex work and sex geekery. We’re looking to blur some boundaries and will be considering offerings of any length and genre drawn from both Hollywood and beyond, with works ranging from documentary to drama, camp comedy to artsy experimental, mildly spicy to quite explicit — and everything in between. Basically, as long as it involves consenting adults, just about anything celebrating sex as a right of self expression is fair game. El Festival de Cine Independiente de Roma (RIFF) es el primer festival de cine independiente e internacional de Italia. We are a festival run by Filmmakers, Professors of Film and Film Fans for Filmmakers, Film Students and Film Fans at all levels of expertise. This is a festival where recognition is generous and you are the Star no matter what role you played or how many roles you assumed, everyone is treated like a Rock Star. We roll out the red carpet for your premiere, allow time for Q & A following the screening, or the block of films if you are in the shorts category. We hold live readings of your screenplay with professional actors with you directing.
If you have special skills, you may be invited to moderate a panel or participate as a panelist. Festival Alumni also serve as Awards Presenters during the Bonehead Awards Gala.
KloosterKino is the place to be for animated shorts in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Three times a year we show the best animated shorts from all over the world in a friendly setting. The screenings take place in a historic cloister, which dates back to 1909, and are not subject to admission.
KloosterKino shows work by young filmmakers, but also pays attention to classic animated film. Throughout the year we also work with other festivals and cultural organizations to arrange screenings of animated shorts.
But why animated shorts? Well, first of all, because we love them! But also because too few animated shorts are shown theatrically in the Netherlands. KloosterKino wants to show animation in all its diversity: from stop-motion to CGI, from narrative to abstract, homegrown and from far away. In doing so, we hope to aid in the diffusion of the artistic animated short.
We intend to be an alternative to the larger animation festivals by offering screenings which are both accessible and challenging. We stand for high quality animated film in welcoming surroundings. Our target audience is not just the animation aficionado, but also those who normally don’t watch animation, but are open to a surprising and stimulating program of films.
