The 55th Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival continues its totally dedicated Independent Film screening format for the upcoming April 20-24, 2022 unspooling. WorldFest will screen just 60-80 feature film premieres and over 130 Shorts with a total and absolute emphasis on the American and International Independent feature film and a continuing annual spotlight on award-winning short films and documentary films. Entries Officially Open Aug. 15, 2021. The EarlyBird Entry Deadline is Nov. 15th 2021 – A Mail-By/Enter By/Ship-By Deadline! Entries do not have to arrive by this deadline. The Main Entry Deadline is December 15, 2021. The Late Entry Deadline is Jan 15th 2022!

La novena edición de 24 Risas por Segundo, Festival Internacional de Cine y Comedia, se realizará del 6 al 11 de mayo en la Ciudad de México y por eso CONVOCAMOS a realizadores mexicanos y extranjeros a inscribir sus películas de comedia (cortometrajes y largometrajes) para formar parte de nuestra programación.
La Mostra Dr. Mabuse es una muestra de cortometrajes internacional que tiene lugar en Barcelona durante tres días. Se plantea como un festival abierto tanto a nuevos creadores como más experimentados. Un jurado formado por profesionales en el mundo de las audiovisuales, profesores y estudiantes de cine y colaboradores de otros festivales llevan a cabo la selección de los cortometrajes que se proyectarán en las tres sesiones que se programan durante el mes de junio en Barcelona. El proyecto se inició hace más de veinte años con una única sesión como una actividad de fiesta mayor en el barrio de Trinitat Vella, y a medida que se llevaban a cabo nuevas ediciones, ha ido creciendo y multiplicando el número de cortometrajes proyectados e inscritos, recibiendo trabajos de directores como JA Bayona, Nacho Vigalondo, Mateo Gil o Kike Maillo. Más allá de un festival audiovisual, el Dr. Mabuse pretende ser un espectáculo homogéneo y gratuito, en el que todos puedan pasar un buen rato disfrutando de teatro y cine.

El Indy Film Fest se fundó en 2004 para celebrar el arte del cine y crear una experiencia compartida en torno al cine en Indianápolis. Somos un festival de cine independiente, internacional y sin fines de lucro que programa tanto largometrajes como cortometrajes. Nuestro personal, compuesto exclusivamente por voluntarios, se esfuerza por ofrecer las mejores películas que la industria tiene para ofrecer a nuestra comunidad, tanto nacionales como extranjeras. Nuestros programadores tienen como objetivo fomentar nuevos talentos y ayudar a los cineastas a conectarse con la industria global. El Indy Film Fest busca los mejores largometrajes y cortometrajes independientes sin importar la categoría o el género: acción real, animación, drama, comedia, narrativa, documental, terror, ciencia ficción y experimental. Nuestro festival anual, que dura más de 10 días, suele programar alrededor de 25 largometrajes y 100 cortometrajes, con más del 90% de las inscripciones.
Siempre creciendo y adaptándose, el Indy Film Fest comenzó como un Festival Internacional de Cine de Indianápolis, de tres días de duración, en 2004. Rápidamente nos expandimos a nuestro formato actual de 10 días en 2006, trasladamos nuestras festividades al verano de 2009, cambiamos nuestro nombre por el de Indy Film Fest en 2014 y, desde 2018, hemos vuelto a casa en nuestro calendario original de primavera. Debido a la COVID-19, nuestros festivales de 2020 y 2021 fueron principalmente virtuales y los de 2022 a 2024 fueron festivales híbridos presenciales de 5 días, seguidos de una disponibilidad virtual y que finalizaron con proyecciones presenciales premiadas el último fin de semana. Ese formato es nuestro objetivo para el festival de 2025 y, antes de que se tomen las decisiones de selección, se informará a los cineastas de cualquier cambio en las fechas o el formato y se les dará la oportunidad de solicitar que su cuota de inscripción se aplique a un festival futuro si esos cambios no son aceptables.
Los exalumnos del Indy Film Fest (y del Festival Internacional de Cine de Indianápolis) pueden optar a un número razonable de inscripciones gratuitas. Las películas con vínculos importantes con Indiana son elegibles para una reducción drástica de las tarifas de inscripción. Los ejemplos de elegibilidad incluyen que el director o escritor sea residente o nativo de Indiana actualmente, o que la película se haya rodado principalmente en Indiana. El Festival Internacional de Cine de Leonid Khromov (LKIFF) fue fundado en 2020 por el productor y empresario Leonid Khromov. LKIFF es una plataforma independiente para el cine internacional, donde principiantes brillantes y ambiciosos y cineastas experimentados pueden presentar sus películas a la comunidad internacional.

Since its inception in 2006 ÉCU has forged a path for independent film and the scope of its presence has grown to a global scale with the festival often being referenced as the European equivalent of Sundance, an honour that we don’t take lightly.
Spring is not only a fabulous time for Paris but an exciting time for ÉCU because that is when we showcase roughly around 100 of the World’s very best independent films. Although ÉCU emphasises European talent, it also recognises the genius of international filmmakers with several categories allocated to non-European films.
The next ÉCU, the 19th edition, will take place on the 19th, 20th and 21st of April, 2024 in Paris, France.
ÉCU isn’t just all about screening an amazing slate of films over its three-day event in Paris in April. There are also professional workshops led by experts in the industry, Q&A’s held with the attending filmmakers after every screening session and a chance to network with fellow filmmakers, producers, agents, industry representatives, prospective film buyers and, of course, the cinema-loving public. At ÉCU, there is a continual dialogue celebrating and critiquing the world’s best indie cinema of today.
Though ÉCU’s main event IS the three-day festival in Paris each spring, there is even more! Thanks to our over 50 partner festivals, partner organizations, film centres and film commissions, ÉCU’s goes on an annual world tour called ÉCU-On-The-Road, which gives award-winning films (as well as many of the Official Selection films) the opportunity to have their films screened to a broader, global audience. ÉCU-On-The-Road showcased films in over 80 countries around the globe in 2016 - 2023 at special ÉCU mini-festivals, partner festivals, cultural institutions and film schools, including an amazing seven day special festival in São Paulo, Brazil. The event was made possible through the support of Caixa Cultural, São Paulo and was a huge success. L'Europe autour de l'Europe - Festival de cine europeo de París se celebrará del 3 al 16 de abril de 2024 en París e Île-de-France.
Su selección presenta películas de autor y de autor producidas por los países de la Gran Europa (miembros del Consejo de Europa) centrándose en las conexiones entre los cineastas europeos clásicos y los nuevos talentos del cine contemporáneo. Uno de los principales objetivos del festival es fortalecer la red de la industria audiovisual creativa en toda Europa.
