What is Subtravelling?
Subtravelling is a pioneering short film festival for its innovative features, which brings the short film genre to the TMB transport network.
The festival was born in 2009 as the Mostra Internacional de Curtmetratges del Metro (the International Metro Short Film Festival). It was a bid by the TMB Foundation to democratize culture and revitalize the short film market, bringing a selection of first-rate Catalan and international short films to all citizens, thus promoting social and cultural values among public transport users.
The first edition of Subtravelling was such a resounding success that, the following year, TMB decided to continue innovating, with the intention of promoting local creation and offering new filmmakers a space to develop their creativity and showcase their talent.
This is how Roda a TMB was born, the section of the festival in which filmmakers have to use their ingenuity to shoot a short film in which, in some way, TMB's transports appear.
Over the years, Subtravelling has not stopped growing. And with a strong desire to cross borders and become international, in 2016 it partnered with the Seoul Metro International Subway Film Festival (SMIFF), a festival with which it shares characteristics: both are the only short film festivals in the world in which the metro and public transport are the protagonists.
Today, Subtravelling keeps the commitment with which it was born intact, and still takes a step further to become more professional. That is why in 2020 the festival has been renamed Subtravelling 11th International New Talents Short Film Fest BARCELONA - SEOUL. The aim is to become an international projection platform for filmmaking talent from Barcelona.
The Latin American Film Festival of Bordeaux, France, was born in 1983, aiming at promoting quality films not or little broadcasted in France.
It started at a time when Latin American Cinema was completely missing in French movie theaters. For some years now, we are glad to witness that Latin American Film production has greatly grown and entered distribution channels in Europe. However, our mission does not end, as Latin American films are still not present enough and the richness they offer makes us believe, every year, that our Festival has still a great mission to accomplish.
The Latin American Film Festival of Bordeaux, since it was created, has gathered more than 65.000 people, of all ages, rushing to meet our more than 2.500 professionals invited throughout our history (directors, producers, technicians, lecturers...), to attend to more than 100 concerts, art exhibitions, workshops... and to participate to more than 300 meetings and conferences, and unforgettable moments.

Short film contest that reflects any reality of any social minority.
The submitted works can belong to any cinematographic genre whenever it shows situations that make visible groups considered minority.
We know how hard it is for an indie filmmaker to produce and distribute their works.
Mindie is the tool that every filmmaker needs, in order to showcase and get recognitions for their film:
We have created monthly editions to give continuity to the selection process and a steady feedback to the filmmakers. Instead of waiting for months before getting an answer from the festival, filmmakers are immediately contacted if selected. Their work is privately screened every month and evaluated by a team of experts in the industry.
The monthly winners will then compete to be screened at our annual event for the following year. The event aims to create a strong relationship between filmmakers, producers and distributors from all over the world.
Submissions to the festival will close at the end of each month, our jury will select the winners on the 20th of every month.
