Show of short films in summer cinema format in Plaza de Jaraba (Zaragoza).
A non-profit attempt to bring the art of the big screen and audiovisual communication to the rural areas of emptied Spain.
The objectives of the “Castillo de Jaraba” Short Film Exhibition are the dissemination, dissemination and screening of cinematographic works, as well as the knowledge of these by the attending public. The works presented do not compete for any cash prize, only for the evaluation of the attending public.
All selected short films will receive an accreditation diploma and the winners of each section will receive an exclusive trophy made of cut-out paper designed by Jose Antonio Berdie from the Eustaquio Castellano Cut-Out Toy Museum.
Ruido Interno, artes escénicas y visuales organiza el II Festival de cine y cortometraje Rurales, que se celebrará en la localidad de Espinama, en el Valle de Camaleño, Cantabria del 29 de agosto al 1 de septiembre de 2024.
Se convoca la sección competitiva atendiendo las siguientes bases:
1. Se establecen tres modalidades:
. Sección cortometrajes ficción y animación.
. Sección documentales.
. Sección vídeo arte y otros lenguajes (realidad virtual, vídeos 360, etc).
La duración de los trabajos no podrá ser superior a 30 minutos.
2. Cada autor o autora podrá presentar un trabajo a una única modalidad.
3. Todos los trabajos deberán hacer referencia en su argumento al medio rural, natural, a las problemáticas medioambientales, a la sensibilización con el medio natural y su conservación por lo menos en un 70 %. Se consi- derarán producciones audiovisuales que muestren o reflexionen sobre aspectos sociales, culturales, antropológicos del mundo rural.
4. Podrán presentarse todos aquellos trabajos realizados a partir del 1 de enero de 2021. Quedan excluidos cualquier persona o grupo de personas relacionados con la organización o patrocinadores de forma directa. Del mismo modo no podrán presentarse producciones con contenido publicitario o turístico.
5. No se contempla restricción de idiomas en la presentación de los trabajos, siendo condición indispensable, siempre que esto ocurra, el subtitulado en castellano.
MACAU INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL (“FESTIVAL”) is an annual worldwide audio-visual festival that aims to motivate overseas and Macau short film and music videos productions to compete in this FESTIVAL.
The Festival compromises two separate competitions:
- SHORTS International Short Film Competition
- VOLUME International Music Video Competition
“SHORTS” awards the best shorts-films in the three categories of Fiction, Documentary, and Animation. And “VOLUME” awards the best winning music video incorporating Macau original music. A list of Macau original songs is available on the Festival's WEBSITE for download purposely for VOLUME.
SHORTS is open for submission from 16 March to 16 June 2024, and VOLUME is open for submission from 16 March to 20 July 2024.
The Festival was previously known as "Sound & Image Challenge" and was first launched in 2010 focusing only on an audiovisual competition for local talent. This initiative was co-founded with professionals in film, music, sound and image fields, with two priorities: to promote the Creative Industries in the audiovisual sector and highlight the local talents in the production of sound and moving image design. Over the years, it expanded across 5 continents, grew and gained recognition, and finally became a short film festival in 2015.
The Festival will be held from 3 to 10 December 2024. A series of cultural programs will be scheduled in venues throughout Macau during the Festival week, such as public screenings of “SHORTS” official selection and “VOLUME” music videos official selection, Masterclasses of film production, development, International Film Festival curatorship and organising; audience voting for “Audience Choice”; as well as gala awards ceremony.
Fantasy Filmfest is one of the largest film-events in Germany swell as a renowned platform for genre titles and very much supported by the local film industry. Fantasy Filmfest is based on a traveling concept touring 7 major German cities September each year.
Our program’s focus is on a hand-picked and high quality selection of about 40 features and 10 short films. The continuously increasing number of visitors confirms the festival’s reputation as one of the biggest genre events worldwide.
Fantasy Filmfest is well-respected among distributors for being a link between them and producers as well as sales companies. German buyers and distribution companies consider the festival an extraordinary market and a promotional opportunity, often attending each festival city to get an up close impression of the audience’s reaction. The BELLAVISTA FILM FESTIVAL (BVFF) seeks to inspire, empower, and unify our audience through cinematographic art of social impact.
The festival is a space in which the community and cinema converse through cinematographic works of art selected with great artistic value and a theme of representative and relevant social impact. The International Film Festival of Pasto (FICPA), which celebrates its twentieth edition in October 2024, is a prominent competitive event that brings together the best of national and international cinema. With official categories covering a wide range of topics, from human rights to the environment, including animation and children's films, FICPA offers a unique platform for diversity and cinematic expression. Located in the picturesque city of Pasto, Colombia, globally recognized for its iconic Carnival of Blacks and Whites, the festival not only celebrates the art of cinema but also highlights the rich cultural heritage of the region. As the oldest event in southwestern Colombia, FICPA awards the coveted Sol de los Pastos (Sun of the Pastos) prize, establishing itself as a must-attend event on both the local and international cultural calendar.
The Santiago International Documentary Film Festival (FIDOCS) is the main broadcasting, diffusion, and competition event for documentary cinema in Chile and Latin America.
Focused on the promotion of dialogue and reflection, as well as in training audiences towards the appreciation of documentary film in a context of permanent transformation, FIDOCS seeks to explore the multiple paths available in documentary making as well as in the drifts proper to nonfiction works. In its program, FIDOCS incorporates the works of both experienced and emerging directors in order to address the question of “THE REAL”, and in doing so, it considers the various dimensions, disciplinary frontiers, and tensions that the question “what is real?”, as well as the documentary genre itself, has to offer us.
Throughout its history, FIDOCS has positioned itself as one of the most distinguished documentary film festivals in Latin America, standing as a privileged platform to screen contemporary cinema and to promote critical thinking. Year by year, under its selective curatorial approach, FIDOCS not only calls for important exponents of national and international audiovisual sectors to exhibit their work in Santiago, but also, in using this city as a film hub, it calls on such exponents to question, interpret, and re-write the status of contemporary documentary film practice today.
For the promotion, positioning, and exhibition of Chilean and International films, FIDOCS displays three main competitions. These sections include: INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION; CHILEAN COMPETITION, and EMERGENT SHORT COMPETITION FOR NATIONAL FILMS.
In addition, FIDOCS has the main industry activity, DOCS IN PROGRESS, for Latin-American works in progress where the jury (editors, directors, sound designers, producers, programmers), in addition to choosing a winner, feeds the filmmakers to carry out the post-production of their films and encourage their diffusion and transmission. This section is jointly run together with WIP section of CHILEDOC CONECTA.
The festival also has important training and extension activities in its FIDOCS SCHOOL, where students from film schools and communications from all over Chile so that its most outstanding students are in an intergenerational and interdisciplinary space with international and national festival guests; attending Master Classes, workshops, dialogues, among others.
In addition, in keeping with its interdisciplinary vocation, FIDOCS intends to accompany its screenings of other artistic interventions such as installations, exhibitions, performances, that from their own expressive means dialogue with the documentary concept. This is how FIDOCS EXPANDED section arises, where various artists, video-artists and filmmakers, all of them linked to the fields of sound or visuals, exhibit their work.
Finally, the chosen films will be screened after the completion of the festival, in different regions of Chile and abroad, at BEST OF FIDOCS section. The purpose is the cultural extension of the festival at a territorial level, putting emphasis on the circulation of the films at the regional level, being able to program replicas in the national territory as well as abroad.

FILMSCHOOLFEST MUNICH - Festival of Future Storytellers has been one of the most important festivals for young filmmakers worldwide since 1981. Each year, it offers young filmmakers from all over the world a platform for presenting their own short films and exchanging ideas about filmmaking. Each November, Munich becomes the focal point of up-and-coming international filmmaking — a place for lively exchange, networking, and discussion.
The short fiction, documentary, and animated films screened in international competition are eligible for valuable prizes, which are awarded by an independent festival jury. In addition, FILMSCHOOLFEST MUNICH will also present a DACH Short Film Competition for the first time in 2024, in which short films from the DACH region will be programmed. An extensive supporting programme with panels and masterclasses complements the film programme.
Open Window International Film Challenge is an independent film competition with quarterly physical screening. Open Window International Film Challenge is open to all Organization /Agency /Independent /Producer/Directors aiming to inspire, motivate and award the true innovative and artistic geniuses of our time. Amazing Fantasy Fest is a seven-day celebration of fantastic cinema held every September in Buffalo, New York (half an hour away from Niagara Falls). Our genres are Horror, Experimental, Animation, Action and Science Fiction: Micro Shorts, Shorts, Medium Length Films, Features. Our only Student category is for Western New York residents only. We have categories for Unproduced Short Screenplays and Unproduced Feature Screenplays. All Selected Films are screened at Dipson's Amherst Theatre in Buffalo, New York, on a large screen with comfortable seats, awesome sound, and convenient parking. We show all films on one screen with no counterprogramming. Every attending filmmaker receives a Q&A. We do not do online screenings.
