Das Festival wurde mit einer ganz bestimmten Mission ins Leben gerufen: Es zielt darauf ab, die Aufmerksamkeit der Öffentlichkeit auf einen offenen und breiten repräsentativen Raum wie die ländliche Umgebung zu lenken, und macht seine Außenprojektionen, die allen offen stehen, zum besten Exponent. Jugendliche und Erwachsene, Generationen, die durch Jahre und Erfahrungen getrennt sind, versammeln sich um eine Leinwand, auf der das Licht einer Vergangenheit und einer Zukunft im Mittelpunkt steht: Kultur ist zeitlos, Kultur verbindet, und die Filmsprache wird das gemeinsame Bindeglied sein, um Emotionen und Gefühle zu mildern, Erinnerungen zu bewahren und lebendige Zusammenkünfte zu provozieren.
Auf diese Weise können alle Teilnehmer der Veranstaltung eine heterogene und dynamische Rede genießen. Eines der Hauptinteressen des Organisationsteams von ficmonterrey ist es, neue Perspektiven zu fördern, und zwar nicht aufgrund ihres Alters, sondern weil sie jung sind, weil sie frisch sind, kritisch bleiben, sich mit Innovation verwirklichen und verschiedene Risiken eingehen.
Das allgemeine Ziel von ficmonterrey ist es, in Nuevo León ein persönliches und ein virtuelles Publikum in ganz Mexiko zusammenzubringen, bevor eine Auswahl an zeitgenössischem mexikanischem und internationalem Kino präsentiert wird, die von Filmemachern mit unterschiedlichen, frischen, riskanten, kritischen und innovativen Visionen geschaffen wurden. Ebenso sind wir daran interessiert, einen Schulungsraum zur Verfügung zu stellen, der die Begegnung zwischen Filmemachern, Filmen und dem Publikum fördert, sowie Aktivitäten zur Förderung der Filmproduktion, insbesondere von Frauen und regionalen Filmen.

We encourage directors and producers to rise the issues of all kinds of global or local problems, because we strongly believe in cinematic power in solving them and awakening people’s mind.

Reel Affirmations: Washington DC's International LGBT Film Festival is proud to announce we are now a part of The DC Center Arts Program.
The DC Center is Washington DC's Community Center for the LGBT Community. We are simultaneously partnering with The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) in regard to presenting our monthly film series and The Tivoli Theater in Washington DC in presenting our Fall Film Festival.
Both the DC Center and HRC are amazing organizations with strong ties in the community locally and globally. This is a perfect fit for Reel Affirmations.
With this union, Reel Affirmations has re-launched its monthly film series, Reel Affirmations XTRA and will be bringing back Reel Affirmations: Washington DC's International LGBT Film Festival in late August 2015.
Reel Affirmations is Washington DC's International Film Festival. We are in our 23nd year and the festival takes place in August 2015.Since its first festival, Reel Affirmations has grown to include a companion Pride Film Festival, special screenings throughout the year with a variety of community partnerships, and a grant program to support LGBT filmmakers. The DC Center has an extensive arts program that help tell the stories of LGBT lives.that includes, OUTWRITE: LGBT Book Festival, The DC Queer Theatre Festival and Capturing FirePoetry Slam.
Since 2003 the international Festival SIGNES DE NUIT is active in Paris, Berlin, Saarbrücken and with special screenings world wide. The festival in Paris actually presents around 300 films coming from around 50 countries at different places in Paris. In Berlin the festival will be performed in the legendary cinema Babylon.
The International Festival SIGNES DE NUIT based in Paris is made up of films, which reflects new views, original imagery and critical approach to the crucial points of the modern human existence. It is a place for cinema that expands its own boundaries, that is astonishing, different, potentially free from the pressure of tradition, ready to give itself to the unpredictable experimentation.
The minor costs of digital production makes an independant- from comercial influences and any kind of censorship- production possible. These independant productions create an alternative, an artistic space very subtle and accessible to all, in contrast to what mass media offer.
This opposition and the preservation of the free cultural space is the goal of the International Festival Signes de Nuit, which has realized screenings and interventions in 29 different countries including Algeria, Australia, Chile, Cuba, Lebanon, Lithuania, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Peru, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey and the United States beside the screenings in main festival in Paris.
