The 2019 Great Lakes International Film Festival shall accept Music Videos from around the world of cross-continent and cross-genre productions. We shall accept Music Videos of all genres from Pop, Punk, Rock, Alt-Country, Country-Western, Folk, Reggae, Hip-Hop to Electronica, Jazz, Blues, Zydeco, Industrial, Metal, Hardcore, Gothic, Karaoke, Avant-Garde, World Music, and Experimental, and all other genres that may not be listed here.
The 2019 Great Lakes International Film Festival will accept all forms of Religious, Christian, and Spiritual films including African, African-American, GLBT, Black, Hispanic, Islamic, Latino, Native/Aboriginal and student films from the United States and around the world.
In addition to awards presented to Filmmakers for Best of Genre, our Festival will present an Audience Choice Award to the Filmmaker whose film is the most popular with our attendees, and that receives the most attendee votes.
Showcasing the best films of the 2019 season, the Great Lakes International Film Festival will be held LIVE in the great city of Erie, Pennsylvania starting on September 19th, 2019, with our virtual festival taking place September 19th thru September 28th, 2019.
Though the GLIFF success does not come from an excess of big names celebrities crowding its red carpet, but instead from a formidable catalogue of exceptionally high caliber Independent Films and career launches, still, over the years we have had many films that have screened on the Sundance Channel, IFC, PBS and HBO along with countless filmmakers who have received distribution deals after screening in our festival.
Since our inception, the Great Lakes International Film Festival has showcased more than 2,000 films, and has played host to countless celebrities such as actor, writer, producer Bill Hinzman of Flesheaters and Night of the Living Dead; director Lloyd Kaufman of the Toxic Avenger films, Pot Zombies, and President of Troma Films; actor Gunnar Hansen of Texas Chainsaw Massacre; actor and director Mark Borchardt of American Movie and Coven; Erick Rodgers (Writer of NYPD Blue); best-selling mystery author Jamian Snow (Shrouded Insanity); John Hancock (“Hill Street Blues”, “The Twilight Zone”, & California Dreaming); actress and “Scream Queen” Debbie Rochon (Blood Relic, Vampyre Tales, & Lord of the Undead); Bobby Logan (Meatballs 4 & Repossessed), along with so many more.
As one of the premier film festivals worldwide, the Great Lakes International Film Festival held its inaugural festival in the fall of 2002, welcoming internationally acclaimed celebrities like Dirk Benedict, best known for his work on Battlestar Galactica and A-Team, along with Hollywood script guru Harri James who worked as script supervisor for blockbuster films and TV Shows as ER, Alias, Tremors II: Aftershocks, and Tremors 4: The Legend Begins, to name only a few.
That same year, B.J. and the Bear & Up in Smoke producer, Otto Felix visited the festival along with the renowned Keith Carradine being presented with a lifetime achievement award for his dedication and contributions to indie film.
Since that time, the Great Lakes International Film Festival has had many films go on to greatness like “The Derby Stallion” that was released through Echo Bridge Home Entertainment, a subsidiary of Disney, and Director Joel Miller’s film “The Still Life” that received distribution through Warner Home Video after having been screened at the festival.
In 2004, the Great Lakes International Film Festival had the proud pleasure to present the North East United States Premiere of “SAW”, Lions Gate Films’ gripping psychological thriller starring Cary Elwes, Danny Glover, Monica Potter, and Leigh Whannel.
The legendary Terry Moore was our special guest of honor and was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for her amazing accomplishments in film over the past 60 years, while international recording superstar Dizzy Reed of Guns ‘N Roses performed before a capacity crowd at our Film Festival.

A judged film festival described as "Sundance with Fangs" by Newsday Long Island. We provide a venue for showcasing your films within a celebratory & respectful environment, where fans can enjoy the independent films entered by those of you who passionately craft your Strange-ifical, Weird-ifical, Horror-ifical, Sci-fi-tastical, Fantastical and Macabre-licious films. The opportunity to win awards, increase film visibility via press and possibly obtain distribution is always part of the equation with the Macabre Faire Film Festival.
For starters the word "Macabre" is pronounced: Ma-Cob. The "re" is hardly ever heard. What does it mean?
Although it is an adjective meaning: disturbing and horrifying because of involvement with or depiction of death and injury, WE ARE NOT SOLELY A HORROR FILM FESTIVAL but instead a whole lot more than that. We usually approach the Macabre Faire Film Festival with a lighter touch in the sense that, not all of the films screened are horror and instead many may simply be considered a bit on the darker side. Of course, we will add some horror to this festival but, when we hear the word "Macabre" we remember those hauntingly fascinating films that starred legendary greats such as:
Vincent Price & Peter Cushing or those fantastic Gothic horrors like the "Hammer" films. These names in themselves represent what "macabre" means to us. What we are saying is that the word "Macabre" DOES NOT mean we only accept HORROR films but instead that we welcome those films that can tap into our fears through what you don't see or hear. A dark drama, mystery, suspense, thriller or dark comedy can do a lovely job making us feel uncomfortable in the dark. So folks, this is what many of the films selected for the Macabre Faire Film Festival offer. A buffet for any pallet. About the only thing we may have to say "No Thanks" to would be a romantic comedy/drama... unless, there's a monster under the bed during love making or other dark element.
All submitted films are pre-screened by select judges that includes Eileen Dietz, our Festival Ambassador, of the original "The Exorcist" film to ensure the films have followed guidelines and are an overall fit for the festival. Then the films are passed on to another set of judges consisting of more filmmakers, film critics, genre film fans and or seasoned actors to choose the Official Selections. Once these selections have been identified there is an additional judging process in collaboration with the original pre-screening judges to identify the different category nominees. Once you have been notified we insist on having the film festival entry form filled out and submitted back to the festival via email or snail mail within 4 weeks of acceptance. This form can be found on our website or it has been emailed to you as an attachment with your initial welcoming email.
URGENT NOTE: IF THERE IS NO CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN THE FESTIVAL AND INDIVIDUAL WHO SUBMITTED THE ACCEPTED FILM WITHIN 4 WEEKS FROM INITIAL ACCEPTANCE NOTIFICATION, WHICH ALL FILMMAKERS RECEIVE FROM FESTHOME BY DEADLINE DATE, YOUR FILM WILL NO LONGER BE AN OFFICIAL SELECTION IN THE MACABRE FAIRE FILM FESTIVAL. So we urge everyone to check their spam folders at all times and or ensure to make contact with the festival within 4 weeks of the acceptance notification. Failure to do so will exclude your film from the festival. Please take the time to ACTUALLY READ all the pages of the submission form which contains mailing address information (if needed) and other very important details which includes getting your discs or film posters sent to the festival in a timely fashion. This does not mean mailing materials in 2 weeks before the event as they will not be accepted.
Moving on...
January's festival always falls on Martin Luther King Jr weekend for easy remembering. This 4 day event start with Thursday and Friday being solely screening days with minimal panels within 3 screening rooms. The festival continues for another 2 days with Saturday screenings starting at 12pm into midnight within 4-5 screening rooms and an intimately sized vendor room with additional panels available for guests. Saturday evening is capped with an elaborate Red Carpet Gala Award Ceremony that offers a glamorous atmosphere filled with Press, Photos, Entertainment, Dinner and Awards! This is NOT to be missed.
Sunday captures the conversations from the night prior winners and more. A perfect day to catch those shorts you may have missed as it usually hosts an encore segment for short films from 12pm until 6pm. Be sure to visit the vendor room before the day is over and sit in on another panel or other special treat before it all ends until the following year.

El 9º Encuentro de Producciones Audiovisuales Alternativas y Comunitarias “La imagen de los Pueblos” (9noIP), es un Festival de Cine Alternativo y Comunitario de la zona norte del Ecuador que impulsa un proceso integral de creación, producción, difusión, promoción y socialización del conocimiento cinematográfico y audiovisual en los barrios, comunidades, ciudades, unidades educativas, universidades, organizaciones dónde la actividad cultural destinada al cine es nula o escasa y la gran mayoría de la gente no tiene acceso a los festivales y salas de cine.
El Encuentro es no competitivo, el interés es socializar las producciones audiovisuales en lugares excluidos del cine y el audiovisual con el fin de abrir espacios de sensibilización, reflexión y concienciación en los sectores comunitarios, unidades educativas, universidades, barrios y ciudades para recuperar los es- pacios públicos destinados al audiovisual en el Ecuador.

La Muestra se compone de un concurso internacional de cortometraje en 5 proyecciones, complementado con otras sesiones paralelas fuera de concurso relacionadas con el desarrollo del euskera y la convivencia lingüística (proyección MINTZAGUN en colaboración con los euskaltegis de Oarsoaldea), la Igualdad de género (premio BEKOZ BEKO en colaboración con la Asociación contra la violencia de genero Bekoz Beko), el fomento de la cultura en Pasaia y sus alrededores, etc.

Fundación Todo por el Cine, A.C., organizador del Festival Internacional Cine en el Campo, invita a realizadores de cortometrajes nacionales e internacionales a participar en el concurso que se llevará a cabo en la treceava edición del Festival Internacional Cine en el Campo (FICC) a celebrarse en los meses de octubre y noviembre, presentándose en comunidades rurales de la República Mexicana.
El FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL CINE EN EL CAMPO (FICC) promueve el diálogo entre las comunidades rurales de México y la producción cinematográfica en cortometraje, con la intención de generar nuevos circuitos, proyectando cine al aire libre.
Apoyamos la producción cinematográfica de cortometrajes que exploran las condiciones culturales y naturales en las que habita el ser humano, la diversidad cultural y su vínculo con la naturaleza. Asimismo, buscamos agentes de cambio e iniciativas originales que incentiven un cambio positivo al cuidado del medio ambiente y las tradiciones.
TEMA: “Sembrando conciencia”
Nos interesamos en todo tipo de temáticas medioambientales, así como el rescate y preservación de tradiciones. Buscamos darle difusión a mensajes que usualmente no reciben el alcance necesario y mucho menos en comunidades rurales donde exhibiciones culturales y artísticas están tristemente ausentes.
SiembraFest is a biennial and itinerant Colombian film festival that tours different municipalities in the department of Cundinamarca, facilitating the circulation and appropriation of national film productions, while providing tools for rural communities to actively participate in the construction of their own image.
Through its actions it generates emotional experiences that transform the public. The Festival de Cine Colombiano al Campo is a high-impact initiative that contributes to the generation of alternative exhibition scenarios and the development of new audiences in rural areas of the country, intervening in community spaces that promote the encounter of cinema with art and popular culture.
As part of our effort to contribute to the growth and consolidation of the creative industries, training activities will be held on topics of interest, promoting the meeting of the audiovisual and film sector in the regions.
The Festival de Cine Colombiano al Campo is a space for the promotion, diffusion and support of cinematographic works of national production. Any audiovisual work that represents the natural, social and cultural values of rural communities in Colombia is a film with the particular seal of SiembraFest. Works that address the traditions, practices, popular knowledge, manifestations of daily life or problems that affect rural communities in Colombia, through fiction, documentary and animation, may be submitted.
We value the creative freedom of national filmmakers and filmmakers, which is why our selection will include films of any format, length, genre or technique, as long as they are productions of quality, relevance and cinematographic pertinence. The viewing and deliberation of the films will be in charge of the Programming Committee, constituted by a group of cinephiles, experts in cinematography and subjects related to rurality who share criteria with the artistic direction of SiembraFest.

Cine Curtas Lapa es un festival independiente sin fines de lucro con entrada gratuita. El Festival tiene como objetivo mostrar películas que se hayan hecho o tengan como tema la ciudad de Río de Janeiro con el fin de promover la industria audiovisual brasileña, especialmente los cortometrajes de Río de Janeiro en el barrio de vida nocturna más tradicional de la ciudad. La idea es llevar un programa de cortometrajes de ficción, animación y documentales al público de Lapa, enriqueciendo la vida cultural del barrio bohemio.

La Plata International Independent Film Festival - FestiFreak is one of the most relevant and inviting cultural event in La Plata, capital of Buenos Aires, Argentina. ¡2020 marca el décimo año del St Cloud Film Fest!
El St Cloud Film Fest se celebra durante ocho días en un teatro histórico a orillas del río Mississippi. La escena artística del centro de la ciudad es un centro para la comunidad artística circundante. Muchos artistas visuales locales exhiben exposiciones a lo largo de la calle St. Germain y la 5ª Avenida.
Somos una organización sin fines de lucro dedicada a promover cine independiente con visión de futuro y comprometida a dar a los estudiantes la oportunidad de crear sus propios proyectos. Celebramos talleres de stop-motion para estudiantes de primaria y damos a estudiantes de secundaria y universidad la oportunidad de hacer una película como parte de un concurso de fin de semana.
Las multitudes son apasionadas e inteligentes sobre el cine. Nos encantaría tener la oportunidad de mostrar su película a un nuevo público. Desde la acción en vivo hasta la animación, el documental hasta la experimentación, todos los cineastas tienen un lugar y una voz en este festival de cine.
