Universities, schools, workshops and students of the whole world participate in it, for about 600 documentaries registered every year. Its principles are the ones of the promotion and the celebration of the student creations, except the usual circuits, in which they rarely find their place.
The festival has no restrictions of the date of the production or original support, subject or length.
Directors of all nationalities are welcomed to submit their films. Subtitles in French or English are demanded.
Next Fidé will take place in April 2021, in Parisian suburbs.

Located in the heart of Cajun country, the annual eight-day Cinema on the Bayou Film Festival is an international, juried film festival dedicated to presenting narrative, documentary, animated and experimental films and filmmakers with truly original voices in one of the friendliest, most unique cultures in the world. COTB is also committed to promoting both established and emerging filmmakers and the relationship-building that is crucial to their continued work. The dedication and commitment of COTB in this regard continue regardless of the pandemic -- we will have a juried 2022 Festival, which we expect to be in person.
Cinema on the Bayou, Louisiana's second oldest film festival, was founded in 2006 in Lafayette, Louisiana, by filmmaker Pat Mire after Hurricane Katrina caused the cancellation of the New Orleans Film Festival in the fall of 2005. Pat was contacted by the National Film Board of Canada, which offered a U.S. premiere of the documentary MAROON, by famed Quebecois filmmaker Andre Gladu, which was originally scheduled to premiere in New Orleans. Cinema on the Bayou was launched in response, and Gladu and his film opened the inaugural Festival. Pat continues to serve as Artistic Director of the Festival.
Since 2006, Cinema on the Bayou has presented hundreds of internationally acclaimed documentary, narrative fiction, animated and experimental films, with filmmakers in attendance from across the United States and around the world. The Festival is now unique among film festivals in the U.S. in that it also regularly screens a large number of French-language independent films and presents filmmakers from throughout the Francophone world. The Festival also has the distinction among film festivals of having given the Audience Award to Moonbot Studio's animated film THE FANTASTIC FLYING BOOKS OF MR. MORRIS LESSMORE one year before the film was nominated for and won an Academy Award in the animated short category.
In 2021, the Festival was held virtually due to the pandemic. We screened over 140 films from across the United States and from around the world, including World, U.S. and Louisiana Premieres of narrative, documentary animated and experimental films. Included within the official selections were more than 40 French-language films.
Filmmakers, actors, producers and other industry professional and film fans participated virtually from throughout the United States and across Canada, including Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Montreal, Moncton, Quebec City, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia, as well as from Puerto Rico, England, Frand, Germany, Finland, Switzerland, Spain, Albania, greece, Australia and Japan. Judges participated from Shreveport, Baton Rouge and Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; Austin, Denver, Brooklyn, Montreal, Quebec City and Paris. At our virtual awards ceremony, the Festival awarded 22 goujon caille (spotted catfish) awards.
Cinema on the Bayou has been selected as the Editors' Choice for "goings-on in the South and beyond" by Garden and Gun Magazine. Describing our Cajun Country setting as a "stew of French, Spanish, and African influences," the Editors concluded that it was an ideal spot for Cinema on the Bayou, an international film festival "charged with exposing attendees to the most original voices in film while fostering cultural exchange among the French-speaking peoples of the world."
Cinema on the Bayou also made the list of the Top 15 Winter Film Festivals in the U.S. by AudNews, an on-line magazine for filmmakers and film lovers.
Over the years, the Festival also has earned the respect of its many loyal filmmaker alums who come from around the world to share in the joie de vivre that defines the culture here. It says a lot about the festival that these highly talented independent filmmakers not only make repeat visits to Cinema on the Bayou, but also recommend the Festival to their filmmaker colleagues.
Cinema on the Bayou also has partnered with several independent film distribution companies in the United States and Canada, whose representatives attend the Festival, in order to facilitate relationships designed to provide opportunities for filmmakers to reach wider, more diverse audiences.
The Festival is committed to creating these essential connections amid exquisite Cajun cuisine, amazing local music performances, and thought-provoking discussions, both on expert panels and at after-hours parties, about all that is near and dear to that creature known as the independent filmmaker.

The purpose of the festival refers to awareness of both the external filters on the screen, including censorship (commercial, ideological, aesthetic), and the internal filters of screen perception and projection, including self-censorship. NEFILTRAVANAE KINO is an exploration of aestheticization and commodification in art. The next aim of the festival is to expose the complexity, manysidedness, and variety of filmmaking.
NEFILTRAVANAE KINO is a film festival that is held by the Short Movie Club, the platform for cinematic projects. NEFILTRAVANAE KINO is ADAMI Media Prize qualified festival. The International Film Studies Conference is held at the same time as the film festival. In this way, film theory and practice are integrated together at the NEFILTRAVANAE KINO.
Originally the festival was held in Belarus, but because of political repression and publicly stated anti-war stance, screenings and events can be held in different countries. First of all in Lithuania (Vilnius). For example, the 10th Nefiltravanae Kino took place in Berlin, Vilnius and Helsinki last year. There were selected 63 films for 12 film programmes. https://shortmovie.club/programmes/10-2024/
The concept of the NEFILTRAVANAE KINO (Unfiltered Cinema):
ALIENATION PROBLEM
We live in a world of malls and cinema multiplexes. We see that indie cinema and non-commodity art go to the periphery of public attention. Primitive attractions replace the cinematography. The escape audience is alienated behind the big screen. So modern mainstream cinema is part of a manipulating tool that leads to the society of alienation. Thus the tendency is that indie cinema becomes more unreadable for the wide audience. We should understand the context of the filmmaker to understand the independent cinema. That is why the NEFILTRAVANAE KINO concept implies the physical presence of filmmakers.
FILM SELECTION PROBLEM
Filmmakers shoot millions of movies. And thousands of short film festivals organize screenings all over the world every year. On average, several thousand films are submitted to a film festival. So various good films can be neglected for whatever reason. Often selecting probability is like winning a lottery. As a result, filmmakers are left with no feedback. It is a paradox that no one can hear you in the age of the Internet! The mainstream culture prefers attractions and casual viewing.
Also, this idea is based on the film selection problem. Perhaps it’s no surprise one person, i.e. programme director at best, or even students of film schools make a preliminary decision to select a movie. Сoncordance of judges or previewers is more seldom thing than the difference of background, tastes. So selection or judging can be one-sided or perfunctory. It is not bad as the programme director has a good taste and aesthetic sensitivity, of course. But we’ve discovered another conception of “unfiltered cinema”. We matched it against “the best of the best” way. This way aids to perceive cinematic idiom without the dictate of art-curators.
CELEBRATION OF INDIE CINEMA
So the Unfiltered Cinema Film Festival tries to avoid “the best of the best” way but it does not ignore it completely, sure. The festival selects fiction, animation, documentary, experimental and virtual reality sections. A jury awards the best film in every section. The festival holds the screenings at cinema theatres, the National Centre for Contemporary Arts, and art-spaces.
Our aim is to gather people in art, to have a dialogue to be happy with smart communication. Cinema is art but not sport. The key point of our project is to establish communication between the filmmaker and the audience.
Please, read about the festival history through the link to the festival's website. http://shortmovie.club/history/

Final Girls Berlin Film Festival showcases horror cinema that’s directed, written, or produced by women*. We are holding the sixth edition of FGBFF from February 3-6 2022 in Berlin. We are looking for horror films (as well as films with horror elements or films that pay homage to horror), of all lengths. We are also extra excited if female filmmakers wish to visit the festival in order to participate in panels, or give talks or workshops on a particular aspect of horror cinema. We are committed to creating space for female voices and visions, whether monstrous, heroic, or some messy combination of the two, in the horror genre.
Glasgow Short Film Festival, the largest competitive short film festival in Scotland, brings together Scottish and international filmmakers, industry delegates and the local audience for an intense five days of competition screenings, unique special programmes, workshops and parties.
GSFF has earned an international reputation for quality curation. This is reflected in the increasing numbers of filmmakers, talent spotters and festival programmers who attend each year. GSFF has been invited to collaborate with festivals and exhibitors in Canada, China, Croatia, Denmark, France, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and across the UK.
Traditionally, Queens World includes a well-attended multi-day annual film festival, year-round screening opportunities for QWFF alumni, special events to bring the Indie film community together and an educational initiative for youth and seniors. Just like everyone else, we are keeping it fluid and responding to the needs of the Indie Film community.
The 10th Annual Fest was scheduled to March 19 - 29, 2020 at the Museum of Moving Image and the Zukor Theater at Kaufman-Astoria Studios. When we were closed on March 16, we changed course and opened on time - online - with 191 films from 32 nations which garnered over 30,000 views.
After the festival Queens World poduced Wednesday Nights @9, 19 live weekly broadcasts that identified individuals and organizations as our 'Hero of the Week'. In their honor, we curated a block of films by filmmakers working in similar themes which ran from Sunday to Sunday on Vimeo. On Wednesday nights we gathered the Heroes and the Filmmakers of the Week to discuss their work. We ran for 19 weeks and gathered over 19,000 views.
In preparation for Q11, we are working with our venues and our partners to maximize all available resources for the festival. We will use our signature thematic programming, grouping films together to create specific cinematic experiences and each screening event will be accompanied by Filmmaker Q&As. Our plans for June 2021 include both a virtual and a live event with some very exciting global elements that we will share with you at a later date.
While this is a tough time on our planet, now is not the time to stop communicating, to stop looking for what will heal us, or to stop gathering. Queens World remains focused on ideas, stories with heart, films with a point of view and artists who challenge..
This year we are concentrating on HOPE as our theme.
H - Healing
O - Opportunities
P - Promote
E – Equity
We are interested in films that examine, explore, defy, contradict and support our theme. The very act of making and completing a film is hopeful.
Show us what you believe in.
Bring your craft and let's see what you got.
Bring it.

HISTORY OF THE FIC:
The INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL FIC was created in 2009 by the ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE of BELLA VISTA with the support of the INCAA, the Embassy of France and the Municipal Government of San Miguel. The FIC was first held on April 10-24, 2010. The UNIVERSITY OF CINEMA, AIR FRANCE, PERNOD RICARD, Buenos Aires Golf Club and the UNIVERSITY OF GENERAL SARMIENTO also supported the Festival in that first edition. It was successfully held in six venues opened for such purpose and in the Award Gala Dinner, which was the grand finale of the first international presentation of a festival conceived to open up to the world.
In 2016 the FIC received the support of ASAECA. It grew year after year without interruption. The festival´s national and international reach continued to expand, and in 2017, in its eighth edition, talented filmmakers of 80 different countries participated, through more than 1237 films, which stood out for their originality and quality.
18 screening venues offered 40 sessions to present the whole official selection of 2017 of both contests of the Festival.
Another important feature of the festival is the offer of related activities: talks, debates and an exposition created by local artists in honor of the films all over the world. The Gala Award Dinner has held once more in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of San Miguel in an excellent presentation by the Universidad Abierta Interamericana and Telefé, which started to participate in 2015 and 2016 respectively. KINOSKOP 2019 – 1st International Festival of analog experimental cinema and audio-visual performance / 29-30.11. 2019. /
Audio-visual initiative and film lab Kino pleme is proud to announce the birth of a new niche festival dedicated to the spirit of preserving the exploratory tendencies and experimental ways of working with celluloid in a digital era. Analog experimental film festival “Kinoskop”, the first of its kind in the region, will, in its first year, take place in Belgrade, for a two-day run (29th and 30th November) of screenings, expanded film performances, live soundtracks and gallery exhibitions. Previously existing as a selection program at The Unforeseen fest, in its first year is broadening its horizons to encompass a wider variety of works and feature-lenghts, while also integrating live performances which are straddling the line between formal experimentation, poetic freedoms and new takes on historically challenging avant-garde narratives.
Festival is welcoming imaginative works of cinema which trigger strong audio-visual stimuli and puzzling afterthoughts. Several of our open call programs will be curated by veteran experimental film aficionados Nikola Gocić (film writer and critic and visual artist) and Marko Milićević (film author and founder of the audiovisual initiative Kino Pleme)
This year’s program is enriched with programs centered around film music performances and use of analog synthethizers. Fifth anniversary program of Live Soundtrack, longest running audio-visual event in Belgrade is having a guest appearance from Marcelo Armani (Elefante Branco), a musician from Brazil and supported by a plethora of local talents. First edition will also shed light on exciting practices of film performance and expanded cinema, with “Elementary particles” - a post-apocalyptic multi-channel performance merging the worlds of mockumentary, found footage, cinema and animation, as well as projections involving analog and digital projectors. Finally, “Kinoskop” will open its doors to alchemical ways of dealing with photochemical practices involving analog photography by presenting a themed group exhibition which will open its first edition.
