OSCILLATION TRANSIA FILM FESTIVAL (OTFF) is celebrating one wild idea:
to travel America self sustainably out of the back of a car, sharing innovative films in some of the most inspirational places in the United States.

Combining the love for nature and outdoor cinema, OTFF will be screening works in national parks and rural areas around the U.S. Films will be exploring themes of movement, nomadic living, adventure and the natural world.

OTFF will be screening works by national and international filmmakers on the eastern coast of the United States, Summer 2017. And throughout western and central areas of the United States, Fall 2017.

Utilizing amphitheaters located within many parks, and also incorporating "pop up" screenings in more remote locations. Using a projector and solar generator, OTFF will be able to screen in a wide range of locations -- usually uncharted territory for traditional film festivals. Travel schedule and festival line up is to be announced February 2017.

Early bird deadline: November 12th 2016
Regular Deadline: December 31st 2016
Late Deadline: January 28th 2017

London-Worldwide Comedy Short Film Festival 2018

London, United Kingdom

Our festival happens in London, UK, one of the world's most cosmopolitan cities, and screens short comedy films from around the globe. Our festival is held at the prestigious and lovely Hackney Picturehouse, home to many film premieres. We are proud to showcase, connect and promote talented comedy filmmakers from all over the world.

It is curated by WWCSFF Film Festivals which also produces the London-X4 Seasonal Short Film Festival and the Asia South East-Short Film Festival.

A US$100 Audience Favourite prize will go to the most popular film of the festival. Awards & Laurels will be available for the following categories:

– UK Comedy Short
– American Comedy Short
– European Comedy Short (including Ireland)
– Canadian Comedy Short
– Australasian Comedy Short
– African Comedy Short
– Asian Comedy Short
– Latin American Comedy Short
&
– Student Comedy Short
– Experimental Comedy Short
– Animated Comedy Short
– Music Video Comedy Short
– Shorter Comedy Short (under 2 minutes)
– Longer Comedy Short/ Web Series/Pilot (between 15 and 30 minutes)

Awards are judged by people involved in the comedy and film industry. In previous editions we were lucky to have on our panel:

-MATT TILLER (head of development for Comedy Central UK)
-MONA YOUSEFI (star of her own BBC show and comedy actor)
-TIM RENKOW (star of his own BBC show and stand up comedian)
-ALEXIS DUBUS (well known UK comedian)
-JOANNE LAU (part of the BBC Writersroom Comedy Room)

The Festival Directors have been involved in live and filmed comedy promotion, performance and production for over fifteen years.

Exciting, creative content is more important to us than slick production values. With comedy, if you make them laugh, audiences won't care if you filmed your masterpiece on your uncle the swinger's 1980s video camera.

London and the UK has a long, illustrious history of comedy from The Canterbury Tales to Monty Python. It is also a global centre for production companies and talent agencies that are looking for new talent to provide comedy content for the ever expanding market of online entertainment, digital content marketing and advertising. We have a database of these companies and agencies and update them about the talented filmmakers participating in our festival.

Most importantly though, the films we screen aim to entertain our festival audiences so we have some important criteria for the films we show:

GET TO THE FUNNY BITS QUICKLY.
BE ORIGINAL AND AVOID CLICHES.

"Brevity is the soul of wit" William Shakespeare
(and he knows better than us because he wore tights)

Being able to share great, undiscovered comedy films is a real buzz and delight for us and our festival is an essential calendar feature both for audiences wishing to have some great nights of laughter and for the discovery of new comedy creators.

All participants in our festival (if they wish) will have their contact details along with their film details made available to our industry database.

ÉCU - The European Independent Film Festival

Cinema is an art form that needs to be simultaneously nourished and challenged and ÉCU - The European Independent Film Festival provides the perfect arena for indie filmmakers to express authentic cinematic storytelling in the most compelling ways possible.

As one the World’s truly stand out independent film festivals, ÉCU embraces innovation and creativity and allows directors in competition to showcase their films to audiences who appreciate and love independent cinema. Filmmakers who are selected into ÉCU’s Official Selection join an active community of creatives who continually push the boundaries of indie cinema.

"It is always an absolute joy to present one's work at ECU. The team are fantastically helpful, the jury extremely competent, and the selection of the highest quality. I would recommend participating to anyone who's in love with indie filmmaking!" - Celina Liesegang, producer of Viscera: Autopsy of a (non)human body, ÉCU 2022 Official Selection

"It's always a pleasure having our films at ÉCU, especially this year with our awarded short film "Useless"! The communication has been great during the whole process and our filmmakers are so excited to be part of this competition. See you again next year with new projects!" - Marta Salvador Tato, distributor of USELESS, the winner of the Best European Independent Dramatic Short award 2022

Since its inception in 2006 ÉCU has forged a path for independent film and the scope of its presence has grown to a global scale with the festival often being referenced as the European equivalent of Sundance, an honour that we don’t take lightly.

Spring is not only a fabulous time for Paris but an exciting time for ÉCU because that is when we showcase roughly around 100 of the World’s very best independent films. Although ÉCU emphasises European talent, it also recognises the genius of international filmmakers with several categories allocated to non-European films.

The next ÉCU, the 19th edition, will take place on the 19th, 20th and 21st of April, 2024 in Paris, France.

ÉCU isn’t just all about screening an amazing slate of films over its three-day event in Paris in April. There are also professional workshops led by experts in the industry, Q&A’s held with the attending filmmakers after every screening session and a chance to network with fellow filmmakers, producers, agents, industry representatives, prospective film buyers and, of course, the cinema-loving public. At ÉCU, there is a continual dialogue celebrating and critiquing the world’s best indie cinema of today.

Though ÉCU’s main event IS the three-day festival in Paris each spring, there is even more! Thanks to our over 50 partner festivals, partner organizations, film centres and film commissions, ÉCU’s goes on an annual world tour called ÉCU-On-The-Road, which gives award-winning films (as well as many of the Official Selection films) the opportunity to have their films screened to a broader, global audience. ÉCU-On-The-Road showcased films in over 80 countries around the globe in 2016 - 2023 at special ÉCU mini-festivals, partner festivals, cultural institutions and film schools, including an amazing seven day special festival in São Paulo, Brazil. The event was made possible through the support of Caixa Cultural, São Paulo and was a huge success. ÉCU also held special events in Berlin (Germany), Cannes (France) and was part of festivals in Lebanon, Italy, Russia, USA, Romania, Austria, Denmark and other countries. This gives ÉCU filmmakers great exposure to audiences that they may never have reached.

Since 2006, ÉCU has helped the careers of literally hundreds of independent filmmakers, actors, DPs, editors, screenwriters and is honoured to be firmly established as one of the World’s eminent indie film festivals.

Above all, we are proud to be a filmmakers’ festival!

*About the festival
The year 2016 marked the commencement of a new tradition in the city of Miraj, as the first ever Miraj International Short Film Festival(MISFF) was held in February 2016.

It was for the very first time a festival of such kind and magnitude was being held here. To bring back the fading lime light, bestow the truly deserved recognition of the city and safeguard the city’s rich heritage was the sole purpose of organizers and the festival directors.

It seems art does not have language, it neither minds borders nor race, and it rather came true at the film festival. Films from different states of the country and across the globe participated in the festival and proudly took back prizes from our soil, entwining with us, a lifelong relation. We are now reaching to you with the second edition of the MISFF only to join more people in our initiative and inspire the youth of today in the art of film making. We aim to recognize the smallest glimpse of a filmmaker and avail them a platform to showcase their talent. Come; let’s get mesmerized in this beautiful carnival of art.

*About the City
Miraj- a city that can be defined in a single word: Art! The city adorned with a crown of art and music. They say art runs in the blood and it couldn’t be truer for this city. The hometown of percussion and stringed instruments, a rich heritage of classical music and a tradition of theater and dramas dating back to the independence struggle. The land gave birth to many artist.

This section is created with the aim of exploring and dealing with issues that contribute to social awareness of women's rights each year.

This section of Festival de Málaga was born in 2008, this being its 18th edition. The project is conceived with a double purpose: to inform about the injustices that women still suffer in this century for the mere fact of being women, and to encourage and support the cinematographic work created by women.

Medina Film Festival (SECIME) is one of the most consolidated events in the national film scene, identified as one of the major references for the promotion and dissemination of short films. It has managed to forge itself as a festival with its own personality, betting equally on emerging talent as well as on the most consolidated trajectories.

The festival is synonymous with commitment to the short film, placing itself at the epicenter of an audiovisual offer endorsed by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain as one of the key festivals in the pre-selection of candidates for the Goya Awards. In addition to having since 2016 with the recognition of the AIC (Short Film Industry Association).

Its offer encompasses six competitions at both national and international level, in order to cover all genres and audiovisual formats -fiction, fantasy and animation- in addition to providing a space for documentary and music video. Increasing the offer through various cycles such as The Image of History, The Classics Chair and Museum Afternoons.

In addition, among its objectives is the promotion, creation and audiovisual production through the National Short Film Project Competition and the influence on the growth of the audiovisual industry of Castilla y León with the pre-selection of works for the Quercus Project.

The festival completes its offer through the commitment to new ways of communication and dissemination of the audiovisual through the meeting spaces, streaming and the theoretical contribution offered by the masterclasses led by and for professionals.
