The RIOS - International Documentary Film Festival and Transmedia is defined as an activity platform for the creation and promotion of author projects within the scope of independent cinema and audiovisual and aims to:
a) give visibility, serving as a promotional platform, cinematographic and audiovisual works whose aesthetic approach is related to the reality of the river;
b) to serve as a work platform for a deep reflection on thematic documentary cinema;
c) encourage the creation of author projects that focus on the aesthetic deepening, the discovery of new territories, new styles and new supports that can define the reality Rivers;
d) create a creative platform linked to the Rios theme in the field of photography, plastic arts, literature and dramatic performance;
e) to contribute to the diffusion of first university works and documentaries in the thematic scope;
f) encourage the creation of inter-university partnerships in the field of documentary film and audiovisual.
The RIOS - International Documentary Film Festival and Transmedia, inserted in a region inevitably linked to the Douro, intends to explore and divulge the aesthetic potentialities linked to the river, making it a privileged space of cinematographic creation in the documentary scope. Vila Real, during the festival, will be an international cinematographic meeting point that will allow the exploration of the region and the gestation of new projects and new aesthetic creations.
Attention to all film talents: From 21 November 2017 until 31 January 2018, filmmakers will have the chance to apply for the LET’S CEE Short Film Competition 2018. Not only are two main prizes waiting to be won, moreover, ten finalists will receive an invitation to participate in the second edition of the LET’S CEE Talent Academy in Vienna!
Between 21 November 2017 and 31 January 2018, filmmakers up to the age of 35 from Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus region, Turkey and Austria will have the possibility to submit their short films to the Short Film Competition of the LET’S CEE Film Festival 2018.
However, filmmakers of all ages and from all over the world are welcome as well to send in thematically fitting contributions. Due to the festival’s geographical focus on CEE though, these short films will not be included in the main Short Film Competition, but will very well have the chance to win the Audience Award in the Short Film category and be screened at the festival in the section Short Films | Out of Competition. We furthermore cordially encourage international makers of virtual reality films, 3D productions and avant-garde pieces to apply as we will be offering these genres a stage at our festival as well.
The theme of the Short Film Competition 2018 is TOGETHER OR APART.
Great Britain voted for the Brexit last year and in doing so decided against a EU membership; most recently thousands of Catalan people went to the streets demanding independence from Spain; under the presidency of Donald Trump, the USA is seeking to withdraw from the Paris climate protection agreement and renegotiate various other commercial treaties – these are only three of many examples demonstrating the recent shift of the political mood in numerous countries. A growing migratory pressure, an increasing gap between the rich and poor, as well as justified and unsubstantiated fears – of the consequences of digitalisation, of the loss of jobs and stability and of social change – have discredited globalisation and encouraged a comeback of nationalist and isolationist tendencies, which seemed utterly unfathomable only a few years ago. Even on a national scale, societal cohesion appears to be threatened more and more. How does the growing division of society influence both the community and individuals? Will political agitation, hatred, egotism and greed for profit become the new normal? Well, the situation is critical, but not hopeless, neither on an international nor a national level. There are still representatives of the civil society who make no effort to surrender to the threatening eroding solidarity. Fortunately, there are numerous instances proving how people still advocate for the poor and disadvantaged with great optimism, dedication and empathy – people who rather pay attention to what we have in common instead of what keeps us apart.
The competition’s theme, TOGETHER OR APART, may be manifested in the submitted material in various manners and methods. Interpersonal aspects, such as family and relationship dramas, trials and tribulations, moments of success and happiness or the joint overcoming of challenges can be taken into account just as well as social, political, juridical and/or cultural matters. In other words: everything is possible, as long as it touches on the topic and is done well!
An advisory board chaired by the renowned Austrian-Iranian filmmakers Arash T. Riahi and Arman T. Riahi will choose the best contributions from the submissions for the LET’S CEE Short Film Competition. The short films, which will be screened out of competition, will be selected by the Bosnian-Dutch producer Denis Mujović and festival director Magdalena Żelasko.
After the presentation of the participating productions at the festival, an international jury will decide on the winner of the competing short films and, thus, who will be awarded the main prize – 1,500 Euro and a Urania statuette – at the Awards Ceremony in the Urania Cinema on 20 April 2018. The remaining short films presented during the festival will have, without exception, the chance to win the 1,500 Euro Audience Award in the category Short Film.
All filmmakers who will take part in the main Short Film Competition will additionally profit from their participation. At the expense of the festival, one of the involved filmmakers of each short film will be invited as an official guest*) to Vienna in order to present their work. Those persons will, furthermore, have the opportunity to join the second edition of the LET’S CEE Talent Academy.
15 remaining free seats for the Talent Academy will be filled by Out-of-Competition filmmakers. The most important items on the one-week Academy agenda include the attendance of LET’S CEE Master Classes and LET’S CEE Industry Days, the collaborative finalisation of a short film about Vienna, and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pitch a film idea to Raindance film festival director Elliot Grove (and win big!) at the Pitching Competition. Of course, all invited filmmakers will enjoy several Get-togethers, where they can get in touch with successful distributors, directors, producers, actors etc., exchange experiences and new ideas and thus strive to new projects and international collaborations. In order to enable as many filmmakers as possible to visit LET’S CEE and present their work to the festival audience, all participants of the section ‘Short Films | Out of Competition’ will receive free festival accreditations and discounts for the official hotel partner on request.
Experimental Forum is an international performance, film and video art festival showcasing experimental film and artists’ moving image from new directors and innovative video artists from around the globe, with the third edition taking place in Los Angeles in November 2018. Our aim is to provide a supportive platform for the exciting and challenging work that is outside the scope of mainstream film festivals and art galleries.
We welcome experimental cinema pieces (abstract, narrative or documentary), video art works, essay films, artists’ moving image and media art, as well as documentary and narrative films that seek to expand, redefine or reconfigure the means and ends of their respective fields. Experimental Forum exists to provide access to, and develop audiences for, artists’ moving image work and is committed to engaging local audiences with new and/or unheard voices in film.
We are particularly interested in works made by early stage filmmakers and artists whose work is underrepresented. We provide a collaborative platform for moving image works made for the gallery and for the cinema with the aim of building a community across disciplinary and institutional faultlines.

A 2ª Mostra LUGAR DE MULHER É NO CINEMA é realizada pelas produtoras Segredo Filmes, Olho de Vidro Produções e Moara Rocha Produções e apresenta em sua segunda edição curtas brasileiros de ficção, documentário, animação, experimental e híbrido, de até 20 minutos de duração, dirigidos por mulheres e/ou com mulheres como protagonistas. Entende-se por mulheres todas aquelas que tem identidade de gênero feminino.
A linha curatorial da Mostra tem a proposta de dar visibilidade à produção fílmica de mulheres contemplando a diversidade das temáticas, abordagens e gêneros, sem deixar de lado a qualidade fílmica das obras, além de – através da programação – fomentar discussões, rodas de conversa, bate-papos que exponham todo o tipo de violência e intolerância contra a mulher. Através dos filmes e das atividades paralelas, a Mostra problematiza e diz não ao machismo, ao sexismo, ao racismo, à lgbtfobia, a violência contra a mulher e todas formas de opressão que urgem por telas e espaços de desconstrução cultural e social.

Nas últimas décadas, e ao mesmo tempo em que surgiram novas tecnologias que acabaram por escanear a maioria dos processos do filme, o documentário conheceu um crescimento notório e sistemático em todo o mundo. Em nosso país, e há mais de uma década, uma produção antes ligada quase exclusivamente à ficção vem aumentando suas fileiras com novos tópicos, novas abordagens, novas geografias, novos dilemas.
É nesse contexto que a FIDBA é proposta como a 1ª. Festival Internacional de Cinema dedicado a esse gênero em que filmes com os mesmos fãs - desde que acreditemos que as formas e os feitos do documentário sejam diferentes dos da ficção - podem se encontrar e dialogar entre eles e com o público. Se o documentário é um ponto de encontro para a FIDBA, é na medida em que propõe uma interpelação às memórias pouco conhecidas, perturbadoras do presente e do (nosso) futuro em suspensão. O FIDBA será então uma abordagem não apenas entre públicos, cineastas e pensadores vinculados ao documentário, mas também em relação às possibilidades sempre estimulantes que permitem abrir esse espaço para outras expressões fronteiriças e heterodoxas enquadradas dentro do que chamaríamos de “não ficção” e que nos incentivam a dialogar com expressões contemporâneas que vão além do escopo do filme.
A FIDBA prestará atenção especial aos cineastas para os quais o cinema está ligado a uma forma de pesquisa e conhecimento do mundo que nos rodeia quanto ao retrato de seres humanos cujas condições de vida, em determinados contextos históricos e sociais, permitem que você nos pergunte sobre o nosso. São, portanto, autores que não apenas refletem a realidade, mas também a relação ética e moral que envolve filmar o outro.
O FIDBA pretende se tornar um ponto de apoio para cineastas que buscam ampliar a percepção da realidade e para filmes que representem um avanço no esforço de compreendê-la e antecipá-la. Assim, focará em filmes cuja originalidade estética coloca em risco não apenas uma ideia do documentário, mas também um pensamento sobre o mesmo filme e suas possibilidades. Como esse foco implica questionar o status da frente real da câmera ou do filme em relação à realidade, isso é tão inseparável das mediações que surgem.

Overview
Located in Stowe, Vermont, The Scout Film Festival (Scout) is an annual international event that celebrates emerging filmmakers through short film.
Every year, over the course of three days, this unique Vermont event celebrates emerging filmmakers worldwide. Scout honors the passions, talents and accomplishments of youth by showcasing the efforts young storytellers have made in original filmmaking. Scout is an event to enjoy the art of film and storytelling through the lens of our energetic next generation.
During Scout Film Festival budding filmmakers will come together with their peers and industry professionals to share, appreciate and hone their craft. Through Scout, they will find a place where their creativity, curiosity, viewpoints, diversity and belief in self are championed. They will meet people and discover resources to help them envision and achieve their goals within the film industry and other endeavors. Lançado em 1980, nosso festival, o primeiro de sua categoria na Coreia do Sul, cresceu e evoluiu do Festival Coreano de Curtas-Metragens para se tornar o Festival Asiático de Curtas-Metragens de Busan em 2000 e, eventualmente, o Festival Internacional de Curtas-Metragens de Busan em 2010 (www.bisff.org).
Realizado no final de abril no Busan Cinema Center, o BISFF entrega uma dúzia de prêmios em três seções competitivas (Competição Internacional, Competição Coreana e Operação Kino), além de apresentar várias seções curadas e não competitivas, incluindo: País convidado, curtas coreanos, curtas asiáticos, prisma, cinema 3D, etc.
BISFF é membro da Short Film Conference (http://shortfilmconference.com/) e da NETPAC (Rede para a Promoção do Cinema da Ásia-Pacífico https://netpacasia.org). Em 2018, tornou-se o primeiro festival de qualificação para o Oscar® da Coreia do Sul.
Estamos procurando filmes que tenham sido censurados, banidos ou que tenham encontrado barreiras para serem exibidos por motivos políticos, sociais, corporativos, religiosos, entre outros, em qualquer lugar do mundo e nos últimos dois anos.
O Censurados Film Festival é um festival de cinema que divulga e torna visível “o cinema que eles não querem que você veja”. Com sede no Perú, o festival está comprometido com a liberdade de expressão, os direitos humanos e a diversidade por meio da exibição de filmes e da organização de atividades artísticas e educacionais. Durante o evento cinematográfico, também é gerado um espaço de diálogo sobre censura, onde a diversidade de vozes, expressões artísticas e ideias pode encontrar um lugar para coexistir e se expressar livremente.

CATEGORIAS DE FILMES
1. Competição de censura. Filmes de ficção, documentários, animação e/ou experimentação cinematográfica de qualquer lugar do mundo que tenham sido censurados devido a pressões ou interesses políticos, religiosos, corporativos, autoritários ou sociais, entre outros, ou que tenham sido vítimas de ameaças e/ou violência, seja durante sua investigação, produção ou realização, bem como em sua exibição e/ou distribuição. É um requisito essencial fornecer informações demonstráveis sobre a censura, ameaça, pressão ou violência que o filme sofreu. Duas tesouras serão premiadas, uma para cada uma das seguintes categorias:
Tesoura de Melhor Longa-Metragem Censurada (Duração: +30 minutos).
Tesoura de melhor curta-metragem censurada (duração: -30 minutos).
2. Competição internacional. Filmes de ficção, documentários, animação e/ou experimentação cinematográfica de qualquer lugar do mundo, exceto do Perú, que abordam estética e discursivamente questões de censura e/ou liberdade e expressão artísticas. Sem limite de duração.
3. Competição peruana. Filmes peruanos de ficção, documentário, animação e experimentação cinematográfica sem limite de duração que abordam formalmente e discursivamente questões políticas, sociais e culturais com liberdade criativa. Um prêmio de 1.500 soles será oferecido para o filme vencedor.
As temporadas 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 e 8 do Festival Internacional de Cinema de Chambal foram um grande sucesso.
Na primeira temporada, 316 filmes de 28 países foram inscritos e 160 filmes foram selecionados para exibição. A inscrição oficial da Índia para o Oscar, “Harishchandrachi Factory” (2009), também foi exibida com foco especial na primeira temporada.
Na segunda temporada, 492 filmes de 35 países foram inscritos e 243 filmes foram selecionados para exibição. A inscrição oficial da Índia para o Oscar 'Court' (2015) também foi exibida com foco especial na segunda temporada.
Na terceira temporada, 604 filmes de 40 países foram inscritos e 398 filmes foram selecionados para exibição. A inscrição oficial da Índia para o Oscar 'Shwaas' (2004) também foi exibida com foco especial na terceira temporada.
Na 4ª temporada, 701 filmes de 54 países foram inscritos e 464 filmes foram selecionados para exibição.
Na 5ª temporada, 809 filmes de 63 países foram inscritos e 494 filmes foram selecionados para exibição.
Na 6ª temporada, 903 filmes de 71 países foram inscritos e mais de 300 filmes foram selecionados para exibição.
Na 7ª temporada, 1007 filmes de 82 países foram inscritos e mais de 250 filmes foram selecionados para exibição. O Presidente de Loksabha, Hon'ble Sr. Om Birla Sir, inaugurou a cerimônia de abertura.
Na 8ª temporada, 1104 filmes de 93 países foram inscritos e mais de 250 filmes foram selecionados para exibição.

O Festival Internacional de Cinema de Chambal, na Índia, é uma plataforma onde os cineastas terão a oportunidade de mostrar seu talento para um grande público apaixonado por filmes. Além disso, o público terá a chance de assistir a alguns curtas-metragens maravilhosos, documentários, filmes de animação e videoclipes de vários cineastas do mundo. Os honoráveis membros do júri, Sr. Sayeed Quadri (renomado letrista), Sr. Kshitij Tarey (famoso cantor e compositor musical) e Sr. Ranjan Das (editor e escritor eminente) da indústria cinematográfica indiana são nomes de renome. O falecido Sr. Suresh Naik (coordenador altamente experiente do DOP e de efeitos especiais) também fez parte do júri.
Creado en un espacio único, Bostik Film Fest -Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes de la Nau
Bostik- se lleva a cabo en un entorno industrial, un lugar de referencia en Barcelona de eventos y
actividades culturales.
Este año tendrá lugar la 2ª edición del festival, con ella pretendemos acercar el formato del
cortometraje a todos los públicos, no solo a los amantes del cine y los festivales. La próxima edición
se fundirá con actividades propias del espacio en un ambiente festivo en el que se hará referencia al
cine y al mundo del cortometraje.
Se abre el plazo de recepción de cortometrajes para todos aquellos que quieran participar en esta 2ª
edición, que se celebrará en La Nau Bostik (Barcelona) del 13 al 15 de abril de 2018
