FUFF is a short film festival, developing interest towards Finno-Ugric fiction and experimental films made by Finno-Ugric filmmakers, or films dealing with Finno-Ugric topics. We welcome film entries from all over the world. Independent filmmakers who are not part of mainstream commercial filmmaking are especially encouraged to submit their work. We also encourage the submission of student films.
The festival has different Panorama sections - Hungarian Short Films, Estonian Short Film and Finnish Short Films. Finno-Ugric Short documentaries and Finno-Ugric experimental films. There is NO competition program this year BUT we willl give out 3 prizes in the section of SMALL NATION FILMS. Here are films which are made by representatives of small Finno-Ugric nations from the territory of RUSSIA.

In nur drei Ausgaben Il Varco International Short Film Festival hat bereits den Ruf gewonnen, eines der interessantesten und künstlerisch anspruchsvollsten Festivals in Italien für Filme aus der ganzen Welt zu sein, zusammen eine autorische Auswahl, die eine Mischung aus unabhängigen Filmen, niedrigen Budget Produktionen, erste Filme und große Meisterwerke.
In nur drei Jahren haben unser Festival und seine parallele Vorführung „Short Days“ mehr als 4900 Filme aus 106+ Ländern erhalten, 14 Vorführungen in ganz Italien mit mehr als 1300 zahlenden Zuschauern gezeigt, die die besten Kurzfilme aus der ganzen Welt zeigen und den Regisseuren die Möglichkeit geben, mit einem Publikum von Filmstudenten, Filmkritikern, Regisseuren, Kinofiles und Filmbesuchern.
Die Vorführungen finden im größten Kino der Abruzzen statt, auf einer 30 Meter großen Leinwand mit DCP 2K Projektoren in maximaler Qualität mit 7.1 Audio. Unsere Mitarbeiter bereiten die DCP Master mit Double ita/eng subs kostenlos für alle ausgewählten Filme vor, und Sie können es später behalten.
Experimental Forum is an international performance, film and video art festival showcasing experimental film and artists’ moving image from new directors and innovative video artists from around the globe, with the third edition taking place in Los Angeles in November 2018. Our aim is to provide a supportive platform for the exciting and challenging work that is outside the scope of mainstream film festivals and art galleries.
We welcome experimental cinema pieces (abstract, narrative or documentary), video art works, essay films, artists’ moving image and media art, as well as documentary and narrative films that seek to expand, redefine or reconfigure the means and ends of their respective fields. Experimental Forum exists to provide access to, and develop audiences for, artists’ moving image work and is committed to engaging local audiences with new and/or unheard voices in film.
We are particularly interested in works made by early stage filmmakers and artists whose work is underrepresented. We provide a collaborative platform for moving image works made for the gallery and for the cinema with the aim of building a community across disciplinary and institutional faultlines.
Das International Gay, Lesbian Trans Film Festival of Lima — OutfestPerú — hat seine Ausschreibung für 23 Ausgaben eröffnet. Filme aller Nationalitäten, deren Thema LGBTIQ ist und die für die verschiedenen Sektionen des Festivals in Frage kommen, können daran teilnehmen: Spielfilme (Offizielle Sektion und Internationales Panorama), Sektion Kurzfilme entweder Dokumentarfilm oder Fiktion und Videokunst (Official und Panorama). Die Werke dürfen vor der Feier des Festivals nicht in kommerziellen Theatern ausgestellt, im Fernsehen ausgestrahlt oder der Öffentlichkeit im Internet oder anderen Fenstern auf peruanischem Gebiet zugänglich gemacht worden sein und müssen nach 2024 urheberrechtlich geschützt sein. Spiel- und Kurzfilme müssen in Peru möglichst unveröffentlicht sein, obwohl dies nicht exklusiv ist, sondern sehr positiv bewertet wird. OutfestPerú behält sich das Recht vor, Filme, die diese Bedingungen nicht erfüllen, aber nicht im Wettbewerb stehen, in das Programm aufzunehmen.

The International Film Festival for Family, Against Drug Abuse & Trafficking open submissions from all over the world. We accept short and feature films and documentary with a general theme, but especially in relating to family, public service, against drug abuse and trafficking issues. The Festival values every aspect of a film and will acknowledge them through our value packages (directing, editing, cinematography, music, acting, etc.)

The Fine Shortfilm Festival is a non-competitive shortfilm event, hosted in São Paulo, addressed to the works of the new generations of Brazilian filmmakers.
Es sind bereits sechzehn Jahre dieses Festivals vergangen, das Jahr für Jahr mit entschiedenem Schritt seine Vorschläge für gutes Kino erweitert hat. Lies far away 1999, als das vom humoristischen Duo Gomaespuma und M-80 Radio gesponserte erste Ausgabe des Festivals mit dem Slogan „Die Indianer kommen! “. Schließlich hat sich Imagineindia internationalisiert und zeigt Filme aus der ganzen Welt, während Filme aus Asien immer noch den Großteil des Festivals ausmachen.
Das Zanzibar International Film Festival nimmt derzeit Bewerbungen für alle afrikanischen Filme (einschließlich afrikanischer Diaspora) und Filme aus der Region der Dhow Länder - Südostasien, Arabische Halbinsel, Der Persische Golf, Iran, Pakistan, Indien und die Inseln des Indischen Ozeans. FIA, International Audiovisual Festival, organized by the Faculty of Communication of Universidad de la Sabana of Colombia, is a space for active students enrolled in colleges and universities, both Colombian and foreign, involved in film-making.
Das 2011 gegründete Prokuplje Short Film Festival ist das jüngste Filmfestival in Serbien. In Prokplje findet eine Veranstaltung statt, bei der das Publikum das Beste aus den Bereichen Dokumentarfilm, Experiment, Animation und Fiktion aus der ganzen Welt sehen kann. Tausende von Filmen aus der ganzen Welt kommen an der Adresse des Festivals an, und das spiegelt sich auch in den zahlreichen Zuschauern in Prokuplje, aber auch in anderen Städten Serbiens und der Region wider, da das Team eine Tour organisiert, bei der die besten Filme in über 30 Städten präsentiert werden. Das Fehlen des Kinos sowie das Fehlen eines Films als Unterrichtsfach in der Schule hindern junge Menschen daran, etwas über diese Kunst zu lernen.
Um etwas von diesem Inhalt zu sehen, müssen die jungen Leute nach Nis oder sogar nach Belgrad gehen. Dies ist eine Gelegenheit, die neuesten Kurzfilmerfolge aus der ganzen Welt in Prokuplje zu sehen. In den letzten Jahren ist laut Untersuchungen die Besucherzahlen bei Festivals auf der ganzen Welt zurückgegangen. Aus diesem Grund und aufgrund der Einführung des Films bei jungen Menschen haben wir die Arbeit an alle Grund- und weiterführenden Schulen mitgebracht, die potenzielle Zuschauer sind und durch die Präsentation von Festivalfilmen und die Diskussion über die Bedeutung des Festivals belebt werden. Neben der Arbeit mit jungen Menschen in Prokuplje ist der Film Club Prokuplje der erste, der damit beginnt, das Publikum aus den ländlichen Gebieten zu animieren, die von allen Veranstaltungen, insbesondere kulturellen Veranstaltungen, völlig ausgeschlossen sind.

****1st and 2nd features being made by Kino Alumni that have moved on to features, We would like to screen a couple of features this year to show the progression of filmmakers from shorts to features. Similarly to above you must provide evidence in your application that you have previously had a short shown at Kinofilm Festival to receive a code to submit to this section.
Women in Film
Women play an important role in filmmaking and there are many talents out there and to celebrate Women in Film we have two categories. One programme is a focus solely on Women directors, the second programme category will focus the work of women practitioners in the roles of writers, actresses, producers and Directors of Cinematography but please note the film lead roles must be female led. If you have a film that has a strong female led role or strong female writer etc and you want to be considered for this sectin of the festival please submit to the Women Practitioners category. Film Directors should submit to the Women in Film (directors category).
General Information.
Established in 1995 the festival is now in it's 16th International Shorts edition. Kinofilm has a unique reputation for showcasing the best short films from around the world, whilst being renowned for seeking out diverse, challenging and groundbreaking new films. We welcome filmmakers that are pushing the boundaries of the short film art form. The festival maintains a high standard with many European & International award-winning shorts featured in the Festival. It includes special programmes in North West Shorts (UK), British New Wave, Euro Cine, International Panorama, Kino Exposed (student and youth shorts), low/no budget shorts, Animation and various themed programmes, giving new and emerging filmmakers the opportunity to have their work screened alongside that of critically acclaimed, established short filmmakers.
Please note for 2019, the festival will move dates to February 2020. We will further welcome short films and animations from Eastern Europe as we extend the Polish festival to include more Baltic countries. This year we welcome films for this section from Romania and Russia.
As part of out 16th anniversary we are introducing a features section called Transitions for those short filmmakers that have successfully made the transition from short film to feature. This section is for previous entrants of Kinofilm Festival and can only be entered if you have previously had a short film at Kinofilm Festival. You must provide the name of the short film and year of the festival it was screened in advance of submitting..
All short films should have been completed since January 2018 to present and be no longer than 20 mins (accept documentaries which can be up to 23 mins including credits). PLEASE NOTE FILMS SHOULD NOT BE ONLINE FOR PUBLIC VIEWING. ANY FILMS THAT ARE SEEN TO BE IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN WILL FACE DISQUALIFICATION.
WE ARE OFFERING STUDENTS (world wide) , GREATER MANCHESTER FILMMAKERS, Youths and community groups, Eastern European Filmmakers and Alumni Filmmakers 20% OF ALL SUBMISSION FEES (please see offers at the top of this entry). The discount is automatically applied when you submit your film to the relevant sections, entry fees start at just $10.00 Please note PROOF OF ELIGIBILITY MUST BE SHOWN in all these categories in advance of submitting the film, you will then receive a code to submit your film.
IRANIAN Filmmakers can submit for free (see above details).
Please note, if your film is selected for screening in one of the cinema screenings you must be able to provide either a DCP or high-quality Bluray of your film. Please contact us if any issues with this and we will try to resolve it by showing the film in one of the other programmes not requiring either of these formats. If it playing in one of our other venues then we will require a digital version, details supplied if your film is accepted.
REFUNDS GIVEN ONLY IN THE FOLLOWING CIRCUMSTANCES: Please note if you make a genuine mistake and submit your film to us not realising that it does not fit all of the criteria, or you have to withdraw it for other reasons, we will refund your fee if the request is made only within the first two weeks from the date of submission. Films withdrawn later for other reasons such as you wish to withdraw it as your film has been accepted in another festival that requires premier status, will not receive a refund. (Please note that any refunds will be after FFW (8%) and PP (3.5%) commission fees already deducted from your fee, you will only be refunded the net amount that the festival receives).

5. To focus on the needs of the regions filmmakers, visiting filmmakers and the region’s audiences.
