BIO FILM FESTIVAL ENG
Agricultural biodiversity must be preserved and protected for its environmental, cultural, socio-economic and gastronomic value. We have the responsibility to protect the huge heritage of crops and plant varieties that people have used and selected over hundreds of years.

The objective of the Bio Film Festival is to share and promote agricultural biodiversity and build awareness around this topic. It is a festival that aims to present the works of Italian and international talents, who through their films will talk about rural biodiversity and all its aspects. This cultural initiative is designed to welcome short movies, short video stories, as well as documentaries and animation movies. The event will take place in the province of Belluno, in the Dolomites, UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. The festival will be held in September to celebrate this year's harvest. The selected films will be projected during the festival and the following categories will be awarded with the golden spike: best short film, best documentary, best fiction film and best film director. 21th CHEONGJU INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL (CISFF)

CHEONGJU, South Korea

Cheongju International Short Film Festival presents movies that are touching, entertaining, and short but strong.

The program team of the 21th Cheongju International Short Film Festival is hosting the festival under the motto of 'Film Festival for the Audience, by the Audience, of the Audience'.

1. Organization
The Cheongju International Short Film Festival is organized by the Cheongju branch of the General Association of Korean Filmmakers and hosted by the Cheongju International Short Film Festival Executive Committee.

Discussions on the Cheongju International Short Film Festival began in 1999 when Kim Kyung-sik, the first chairman of the association, established the Chungbuk Film Council.

The official start of the Cheongju International Short Film Festival is the "Cheongju City Excellent Short Film Festival" held by Kim Kyung-sik, the first president of the Cheongju Film Artists Association, a division established in 2004.

At that time, the main programs were "Invited Screenings for Outstanding Short Films in Korea" and "Cheongju Youth Film Class" aimed at fostering future film talents.

Since then, the festival has been renamed the "Cheongju City Digital Short Film Festival" in 2006, attempting to make changes in line with the digital era. Then in 2013, director Eo Il-sun took office as the second president, renaming it as the "Cheongju International Short Film Festival," inviting foreign films to diversify the program.

The city of Cheongju declared "video culture city" with the launch of the "Cheongju Film Commission" in 2017.

2. Purpose
The Cheongju International Short Film Festival aims to promote the diversity of video culture and independent short film production by discovering and introducing excellent short films from around the world.

Internacionalen Etnografski Filmski Festival `ilindenski Denovi´-bitola

BITOLA, North Macedonia

“From the roots to the flower” is this year's slogan of the first edition festival Ilinden Days. We started the creation of our film program from the roots of the Bitola's film tradition, the one of the Manaki brothers – the first cinematographers in Macedonia and in the Balkan, who left us invaluable testimonies of the everyday life and the great events of their time, engraved on the film tape. They actually made the first ethnographic documentaries.
It was natural that the Festival Ilinden Days, which has risen to international level, to include in its rich program a festival of ethnographic films. Then the creation of new customs and beliefs. All covered by the artistic passion of the artists, who follow the need to leave indelible traces with their cameras.

In addition to the high cinematographic quality of the films, during the selection we were guided by their capacity to convey important messages, which justifies their selection. We hope that our program will succeed to attract and surprise the festival's audience, because these are strong films, which can surprise us, disturb us, soften us, make us happy, provoke us to think, change our view, oppose us, therefore after each screening we will be able to exchange opinions about each of the films.

In 1971 in Macedonia a great idea was born, a wish of a group of professionals, enthusiasts, dreamers, visionaries, an idea which became reality. A springhead, a glowing heart of a cultural organism has been created. A heart which beats, motivates, initiates, boosts, educates.

In 1971 in Bitola was established the International Festival for folk songs and dances “Iliindenski denovi” in Bitola. The name of the Festival is symbolical, its mission is generous while its goals and criteria are deeply integrated and conceived. This festival is dedicated to most hardworking people and their creations which endured the criteria of value through time. This is e Festival which presents, promotes and documents the deed of priceless folk cultural tradition. Thousands of folk artists, millions of visitors, numerous photos, audio, video documents, telegraphed materials, documents for the next generations. On all four parts of the world, the Festival realized its mission, sent messages, thus attracting a great number of authentic values of the cultural heritage fans.

Nevertheless, after all these years the beginning is here, since the new generations should also learn about and as well dance “Teskoto”, “Kopacka”, “Nevestinsko”, Komitsko”…
Every generation implements its own rock in the priceless mosaic of the Festival, a monument, a textbook…

This text is just sparkle from the great fire, a small stone in the mosaic. It has been written with lots of love, respect, and a wish for this Festival to continue.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts of Spain, includes it as one of the key festivals for the selection of short films that will compete in the Goya Awards. Throughout the last editions the festival has been making important decisions that commit it to the cinema of our country. In his thirteenth edition he published his manifesto where he exhibited his philosophy and commitment to film. He made the decision to pay for selection to the selected short films thus eliminating economic competition in order to encourage artistic creation and production. Its screening rooms are open to international cinema including all genres, fiction, documentary animation and experimental cinema. In 2016 the festival received recognition from the AIC (Short Film Industry Association). This certificate is an annual distinction to differentiate and reward festivals that perform an exemplary role in the dissemination, protection and professionalization of cinema and its industry, and especially of the short film. This is the first time this certification has been granted and is the result of more than a year of work tables and conversations with festivals, filmmakers and other professionals from across the country in order to develop a guide to good behaviors towards the short film and its creators. The basic objectives of this distinction are to educate new generations of filmmakers and protect model festivals, recognizing their dedication and rigor. We seek the encounter and exchange between professionals and the public as a form of cultural enrichment.

PRESENTATION

The Association "Amics del cinema de la Vall de Ribes" presents the 10th edition of the Gollut Festival.

The GOLLUT FESTIVAL is an exhibition of social and environmental cinema with the aim of inclusion and awareness of different diversities.

We are committed to auteur cinema, ethical and aesthetic commitment, creative freedom, exploring and experimenting with new narratives and forms of audiovisual representation.

The festival aims to decentralise culture from the big cities, rejecting the idea that culture has to have a centre that defines its peripheries.

This year the festival wants to investigate the ways in which cinema can influence and shape a territory and its inhabitants: their memories, imaginaries and collective fictions. We are interested in exploring the way in which cinema represents rural environments, processes of de-ruralisation both on a local and global scale, from gazes that question hegemonic narratives.
