Registration is now open for the 13th International Film Festival in Balneário Camboriú, a complete event that presents the best of International and Brazilian cinema to the public.
Programers seek to present the work of new or consolidated directors, who stimulate different types of sensitivity, through feature films, medium format and short films. FICBC also seek innovative audiovisual works made in different production support aimed for different exhibition formats.
Filmmakers, professionals and artists participate in activities with the public and contribute to the development of cinephiles, new professionals and critical thinking.
The Audiovisual Market includes the Screenplay Contest, Co-production Meeting, Directors' Room, Country Focus and others.
The Audiovisual Residency provides workshops, lectures and public debates with artists and professionals.
"Each year FICBC is more complete, never forgetting to give visibility to each selected film. There were many meetings between the public and professionals and between professionals from different countries that made it possible to consolidate new co-productions ”, says André Gevaerd, founder and director of the festival. For the curator, Barbara Sturm, the objective is "to show the best of current art cinema in national and international productions and by placing directors to interact with the public and press."

In ten years, presented important guests such as directors Carlos Sorín, Frederike Jehn, Helene Klotz, Hanna Doose, Beto Brant, Renato Ciasca, Sérgio Machado, Rubens Velloso, Patrícia Moran, Francisco Garcia, Chico Faganello, David Schurmann, artist Hans Op Beeck, actresses Bianca Byington, Paula Braun, Djin Sganzerla, Christiane Tricerri, actors Marcos Azevedo and Ivo Muller, critic Rodrigo Fonseca, among many others, who were present and had direct contact with the public.
THE DIFFERENT SESSIONS OF THE FESTIVAL:
Internacional: shows films that make their international or national debut. Short, medium and feature films, from all around the globe, that participate in a competition.
Nacional: Especial for Brazilian productions. Short, medium and feature films.
Live: open to new manifestations of the audiovisual language through new means of production and different exhibition supports. Expanded cinema, live cinema, installations and formats that go beyond the possibilities of the dark room.
Catarina: projects films made by directors from Santa Catarina or who have a relationship - director, producer, cast, crew, location, others - with the state of Santa Catarina.
Nocturnal: opens a window to fantastic cinema at night sessions.
Little Owl: brings programming for all ages, training young film fans.
Settimo International Short Film Festival Seventh edition. Organized by Pro Loco Settimo Milanese with Association Semeion Teatro, Auditorium Settimo Milanese, in partnership with Fedic and under the patronage of the City of Settimo Milanese.
An evening dedicated to international short films of less than 15 minutes.

The Benin City Film Festival was launched in November 2018, as a new entity that offers a platform encouraging and promoting the works of local (community based) as well as National, and International emerging filmmakers. BCFF is the only independent film festival in Edo State, and the only film festival that takes place in Benin City.

The Houston Latino Film Festival is teaming up with Soalz Media to bring you, Houston Votes LIVE, taking place October 23 and 24. This will be a LIVE streamed event to show the importance of voting and what a difference the community can make.
As part of the event, we’re holding a contest for filmmakers to create a short film that will motivate youth and people of color in the Houston area to vote in the November 3rd elections. Four films will be selected to screen online, and one of those films will win the grand prize of $1,000.

Originally the festival was held in Belarus, but because of political repression and publicly stated anti-war stance, screenings and events can be held in different countries. ALIENATION PROBLEM
We live in a world of malls and cinema multiplexes. We see that indie cinema and non-commodity art go to the periphery of public attention. Primitive attractions replace the cinematography. The escape audience is alienated behind the big screen. So modern mainstream cinema is part of a manipulating tool that leads to the society of alienation. Thus the tendency is that indie cinema becomes more unreadable for the wide audience. We should understand the context of the filmmaker to understand the independent cinema. That is why the NEFILTRAVANAE KINO concept implies the physical presence of filmmakers.
FILM SELECTION PROBLEM
Filmmakers shoot millions of movies. And thousands of short film festivals organize screenings all over the world every year. On average, several thousand films are submitted to a film festival. So various good films can be neglected for whatever reason. Often selecting probability is like winning a lottery. As a result, filmmakers are left with no feedback. It is a paradox that no one can hear you in the age of the Internet! The mainstream culture prefers attractions and casual viewing.
Also, this idea is based on the film selection problem. Perhaps it’s no surprise one person, i.e. programme director at best, or even students of film schools make a preliminary decision to select a movie. Сoncordance of judges or previewers is more seldom thing than the difference of background, tastes. So selection or judging can be one-sided or perfunctory. It is not bad as the programme director has a good taste and aesthetic sensitivity, of course. But we’ve discovered another conception of “unfiltered cinema”. We matched it against “the best of the best” way. This way aids to perceive cinematic idiom without the dictate of art-curators.
CELEBRATION OF INDIE CINEMA
So the Unfiltered Cinema Film Festival tries to avoid “the best of the best” way but it does not ignore it completely, sure. The festival selects fiction, animation, documentary, experimental and virtual reality sections. A jury awards the best film in every section. The festival holds the screenings at cinema theatres, the National Centre for Contemporary Arts, and art-spaces.
Our aim is to gather people in art, to have a dialogue to be happy with smart communication. Cinema is art but not sport. The key point of our project is to establish communication between the filmmaker and the audience.

The festival is a social tool viewable and controlled. we are already away from the commercial circuits or day-to-day broadcasting and we are looking for the construction of the cinema school in the Covi neighborhood of Solano, where we hold the film festival and believe that the TRECE will be a great kick for this experience that we support and we have been part since its inception.

Our 17th Another Hole in the Head Film Festival will run November 29th through December 13th 2020, at New People Cinema in San Francisco.
With this festival, we seek broader horizons than our original genre designation allowed. All styles of independent film are welcome to compete. Whether it's a major production from a professional company, a student film, or a micro-budget labor of love, we are committed to giving each film due consideration.
We are located in a very receptive town for film, and we've built a passionate following over the years. 2020 will mark our 17th year among the most highly rated festivals in the world, and we're still growing!
San Francisco is the second largest film market in the country and a great promotional platform for indie filmmakers who are trying to get their film out into the world. Many films that screen at our festival spark the attention of other film festivals and film brokers/buyers. Our "theatrical home" is New People Cinema in San Francisco's Japantown. A 143-seat underground venue located in the New People Building, the Cinema is equipped with cutting-edge HD digital projection, 35mm film projection and a THX®-certified sound system.
