Each year, our festival takes place in Paris during the springtime, which is not only a beautiful season but also an exciting time of year for ÉCU, because that is when we showcase roughly around 60 of the World’s very best independent films. Although ÉCU emphasises European talent, it also recognises the genius of international filmmakers with several categories allocated to non-European films.
The next ÉCU, the 21st edition, will take place on April, 2026 in Paris, France.
ÉCU isn’t just about screening an amazing slate of films over its three-day event in Paris. There are also professional workshops led by experts in the industry, Q&A’s held with the attending filmmakers after every screening session and a chance to network with fellow filmmakers, producers, agents, industry representatives, prospective film buyers and, of course, the cinema-loving public. At ÉCU, there is a dialogue focusing on celebrating but also critiquing the world’s best indie cinema of today.
Though ÉCU’s main event IS the three-day festival in Paris each spring, there is even more! Thanks to our 50+ partner festivals, partner organisations, film centres and film commissions, ÉCU goes on an annual world tour called ÉCU-On-The-Road. This gives award-winning films (as well as many of the Official Selection films) the opportunity for their films to reach a broader, global, international audience.
ÉCU-On-The-Road showcased films in over 80 countries around the globe in 2016 to 2025 at special ÉCU mini-festivals, partner festivals, cultural institutions and film schools, including an amazing seven day special festival in São Paulo, Brazil. The event was made possible through the support of Caixa Cultural, São Paulo and was a huge success. ÉCU also held special events in Berlin (Germany), Atami (Japan) and was part of festivals in Lebanon, Italy, Russia, USA, Romania, Austria, Denmark and other countries. This gives ÉCU filmmakers great exposure to audiences that they may never have reached otherwise.
Since 2006, ÉCU has helped the careers of hundreds of independent filmmakers, actors, DPs, editors, screenwriters and we are honoured to give aspiring film directors the chance for their voices to be seen and heard.

LA Underground Film Forum (LAUFF) ist Los Angeles führendes Schaufenster für Experimente in Film-, Video- und Audiomedien. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf Avantgarde, Art-House, unabhängiges und preisgünstiges Filmemachen. Die fünfte Ausgabe findet im Juli 2020 in Los Angeles statt.

Wir suchen Filme, die mit Leidenschaft, Besessenheit und Antrieb gemacht werden; Filme, die über Erwartungen und Genre hinausgehen; Filme, Video- und Audioprojekte, die versuchen, die Grenzen akzeptierter Form und Inhalte zu überschreiten. Ein starkes Gefühl der Autorschaft ist ein Muss.

Das Festival zeigt narrative und dokumentarische Spiel- und Kurzfilme, Musikvideos sowie Experimental- und Animationsfilme in wettbewerbsorientierten und nicht wettbewerbsorientierten Bereichen. Diese Veranstaltung wird durch Repertoire und Sondervorführungen ergänzt. Das 22. Cine Las Americas International Film Festival (CLAIFF22) fand vom 1. bis 5. Mai 2019 in Austin, Texas, statt. CLAIFF22 begrüßte nicht nur über 3.000 Zuschauer für Filme und Sonderveranstaltungen, sondern zeigte auch 114 Titel. Diese Auswahl repräsentierte die Teilnahme von 25 Ländern an der Produktion oder Koproduktion der Projekte, darunter Argentinien, Australien, Bolivien, Brasilien, Kanada, Chile, Kolumbien, Costa Rica, Kuba, Dominikanische Republik, Ecuador, Frankreich, Deutschland, Jordanien, Mexiko, Niederlande, Peru, Portugal, Katar, Spanien, Arabische Republik Syrien, Großbritannien, Uruguay, USA und Venezuela.
In den letzten 22 Jahren hat Cine Las Americas mehr als 2.600 Filme in Austin und bei verschiedenen Vorführungen im Bundesstaat Texas gezeigt und ist damit zu einer der renommiertesten lateinamerikanischen Filmorganisationen des Landes geworden. Cine Las Americas bleibt eine gemeindeorientierte Organisation, die vielfältige Möglichkeiten für Kultur, Bildung, berufliche Entwicklung und Unterhaltung bietet. Jedes Jahr bringt das Filmfestival eine Vielzahl internationaler Filme und Filmemacher nach Austin, bietet Netzwerkmöglichkeiten für Branchenfachleute und bietet den Teilnehmern ein reichhaltiges kulturelles Erlebnis.
Das Houston Latino Film Festival ist eine Organisation, die sich der Entwicklung, Förderung und Steigerung des Bewusstseins für die Latino-Kultur unter Latinos und anderen Gemeinschaften widmet, indem es eine Vielzahl von Kunst und Filmen in der Region Houston präsentiert.
Während des Festivals werden Filme aus ganz Lateinamerika, Spanien, Portugal und den Vereinigten Staaten gezeigt. Die Programmierung stellt die große Vielfalt der Themen und Genres der lateinamerikanischen und hispanischen Filmemachergemeinde dar. Das fünftägige Festival bietet auch Möglichkeiten für das Publikum, an Diskussionen mit den Regisseuren bei den Vorführungen teilzunehmen, sowie eine Reihe von Sonderveranstaltungen, die die Vielfalt der Latino-Kultur hervorheben. 2022 wird das sechste Jahr des Houston Latino Film Festivals feiern.

60Seconds is a Copenhagen-based film festival projecting selected short films in the urban space since 2006, and transforming the streets into URBAN cinemas. The films must be about this years theme, just one minute long and with no sound or credits in it- we will ad the credits in the last editing.

Tage der deutschen und russischen Kurzfilme „Vkratze!“ finden seit 2013 in Wolgograd unter dem Gesichtspunkt des kulturellen Austauschs, des Dialogs und der Zusammenarbeit zwischen Kunstgemeinschaften der beiden Länder sowie der Popularisierung der heutigen audiovisuellen Kultur in der Wolgogard-Region statt. Der internationale Wettbewerb innerhalb des Festivals ist eine Überprüfung unabhängiger Kurzfilme aus Russland und Deutschland sowie von Filmen aus der ganzen Welt. Dieses Festival dient auch als Forum für Autoren, die sich mit der Sphäre der audiovisuellen Kunst im Kurzfilmbereich befassen.

Mission.
Sochi Film Festival is a year-round cultural and educational organization dedicated to fostering better communication between people of diverse cultures through the art of film and the moving image. We serve Sochi’s diverse and under-served citizenry by providing access to world-class cinema. We aim to enrich Russian cultural environment by presenting film in contexts that encourage discussion and debate.
Through the SOCHI Film Festival, our Education Program, and our year-round programming and membership program, we enhance the cultural assets of the city of Sochi by exhibiting film from around the world. We also strive to promote a deeper understanding of a diverse body of cultures, thus contributing to Sochi’s identity and orientation as an international city.
This year’s theme for our Film Festival is “New Filmmakers” and should address new beginnings: as new filmmakers, new MBAs, new scripts. We are looking for creative quality feature and short films that are consistent with and/or celebrate the theme of the festival.
The Georgia Documentary Film Festival is a theatrical screening event in Atlanta, Georgia. Our mission is to screen independently produced documentary films from around the world at the Landmark Midtown Art Cinema every year. If your film is selected, you are expected to provide a high resolution download of your film so that we can make a single program on 1080p Blu-Ray DVD.
The epic awards show isn’t the only thing going for the UFAs. It includes unique networking opportunities and special privileges, including the possibility of representation.
Since our inception in 2012, many things have changed for the UFAs, including the films eligible for the award. We’re now open to films regardless of where they’ve been produced.

The awards night itself is a special, two-hour event which will take place at the Covey Center for the Arts in Provo, Utah. Submissions for the festival are in full force and will remain open until January 31, 2018.

La Mostra is an international competitive film festival, whose main purpose is to show and to transmit aspects related to the mountain through cinematographic works: culture, sports, artistic creation, environment...
Mostra Dr. Mabuse ist ein internationales Kurzfilmfestival, das drei Tage lang in Barcelona stattfindet. Es ist als Festival konzipiert, das sowohl neuen als auch erfahrenen Künstlern offen steht. Eine Jury, die sich aus Fachleuten der audiovisuellen Welt, Lehrern und Studenten von Filmfestivals und anderen Mitarbeitern zusammensetzt, wählt die Filme aus, die in den drei Sessions gezeigt werden sollen, die im Juni in Barcelona stattfinden. Das Projekt wurde vor zwanzig Jahren ins Leben gerufen und hat die Anzahl der gezeigten und registrierten Filme erweitert und vervielfacht. Es wurden Werke von relevanten Regisseuren wie JA Bayona, Nacho Vigalondo, Mateo Gil oder Kike Maillo erhalten. Vienna Shorts ist das internationale Kurzfilmfestival in Wien. Die Präsentation von Kurzfilmen und der Austausch über sie stehen im Mittelpunkt. Das Festival wird vom Verein Independent Cinema organisiert und zeigt etwa 300 Produktionen unter 30 Minuten. Der Wettbewerb gliedert sich in vier Kategorien, für die jeweils separate Beiträge eingereicht werden können. Weitere Abschnitte umfassen Porträts und thematisch kuratierte Programme.
Vienna Shorts 2021 findet vom 27. Mai bis 1. Juni 2021 als Hybridfestival statt. Der Fokus liegt auf der Präsentation von Kurzfilmformen im Kino in Wien (vorbehaltlich einer ungefährlichen Umsetzung). Die Rechteinhaber werden speziell über Online-Vorführungen von Filmen informiert.
