Festival Internacional de Cine y Video Verde de Venezuela abre su convocatoria para la 12° edición a realizarse del 2 al 6 de diciembre de 2024. Podrán presentarse cortometrajes estudiantiles de cualquier latitud, en una única categoría, siempre y cuando versen sobre la temática AMBIENTAL.

To provide you with a taste of what's what... We are proud to present Jonas Georgakakis' "Saga of Biorn" a ferociously funny animated Nordic tale divulging the absolute truth about how one might earn the right to enter Valhalla. Then there is Javier Mrad's "Techopolis," an absolutely amazing 12min stop motion piece resembling Fritz Lang's Metropolis black and white film. This is the only show where so many entertaining films like these take the spotlight and are given full theatrical effect.
Before the "Festival of Animation" it was difficult to see independent, experimental, and foreign animation. Spike and Mike embarks on yearly world-wide film hunting expeditions. They have signed-on animation from the National Film Board of Canada, Cal Arts, Sheridan, Royal College of Art, Annecy, and select studios active amongst the art-house scene that at one time did not have a public venue. This Festival has come to be known as one of the most anticipated touring events on the circuit.
Initially, Spike and Mike produced the "Classic Festival" and later both the "Classic" and "Sick and Twisted" simultaneously- but by the early 2000s, the "Classic Festival of Animation" was phased into hiatus by the Sick and Twisted Festival (mainly featuring shorts venturing into the non sequitur e.g. "Lloyd's Lunchbox"). "The Festival" (meaning the current show) premieres a new cavalcade of adventurous films annually. Spike & Mike's "New Generation Animation" noted as the latest genre in animation, without question is now premiering the most captivating film-set of thought provoking concepts, humor, story, and daring production design in animation.
In animation, it is important to have an accurate gauge on the pulsating shifts in pop culture. Spike and Mike's content has evolved with the changing tastes of our times. The shows in their entirety have toured globally in theaters, film festivals (such as Cannes, Sundance, Annecy), college campuses, and dynamic events such as the Vans Warped Tour, the Winter X Games, and with the nu-metal band Korn.

Arlington International Film Festival (AIFF) is an award winning organization with its mission being to foster appreciation for different cultures by exploring the lives of people around the globe through independent film. In 2014 AIFF was awarded the Community Recognition Award by the Arlington Martin Luther King Committee, in 2013 the Alan McClennen Community Arts Award by the Arlington Center for the Arts and the Gold Star Award by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. The Unreal Film Festival is an annual film competition held in September in Memphis, TN. The festival accepts both short and feature length films from all over the world, but only films that fall under the horror, sci-fi, and/or fantasy film genres.

El Festival de Cortometrajes de Prokuplje, fundado en 2011, es el festival de cine más joven de Serbia. En Prokplje hay un evento en el que el público puede ver lo mejor del campo del documental, el experimento, la animación y la ficción de todo el mundo. Miles de películas de todo el mundo llegan a la sede del festival, y así lo han reflejado las numerosas audiencias de Prokuplje, pero también de otras ciudades de Serbia y de la región, ya que el equipo organiza una gira en la que se presentan las mejores películas en más de 30 ciudades. Por eso, y debido a la presentación de la película entre los jóvenes, hemos llevado la obra a todos los centros de enseñanza primaria y secundaria, que son un público potencial y se animarán con la presentación de las películas de los festivales y el debate sobre la importancia del Festival. Además de trabajar con los jóvenes de Prokuplje, el Club de Cine de Prokuplje es el primero en empezar a animar al público de las zonas rurales, que están completamente excluidas de todos los eventos, especialmente los culturales.

The Short Film Festival of Great ABC is a call to fostering, development and promotion of audiovisual production in the ABC Paulista, the Greater São Paulo area and capital. It is intended for beginners producers, students and local professionals to discover its diversity and identity, promoting a dialogue among residents of the region with other regions of São Paulo and throughout Brazil.

Zagreb Green Fest is a pilot project from the Non governmental organization RIO – Zagreb, who, through cinema, education, expositions and activity programs dedicated to the ecology and environmental protection, encourages a culture of life with respect for nature.
The entry to the festival is free.
The festival program is divided into three sections:
- Green Genre
- Green Classroom
- Green Career.
The cinema portion of the festival, the “Green Genre” is divided into two segments: the competitive short film side and the “runway”, where everything is presented. The program has an international feeling, the festival participants would have the possibility to see various local films, European and international films with the subject of ecology, earth’s protection and other subjects linked with these themes. The objective here is to encourage university, primary and secondary school students to include themselves into the festival, alone or in a group. They can produce amateur films there, and can present them during the second part of the Green Genre.
The Green Classroom is an educational part of the festival, to enlighten people creatively with the help of experts.
The activities for the students are very important. They include workshops and conferences, as well as demonstrations. Next to the workshops, the festival participants could see shows for all ages.
The Green Career proposes a program full of shows, where various “green” products will be shown, as well as inventions and initiatives.
Green Career is a segment of the festival directed towards an ecological area, for students and professionals. Companies with important information’s will be present to aid students with what they need for a chance at a future job.
The ministries will also present their plans and programs, and the possibilities for the future graduates. Their participation will be taken into account by the faculties which will demonstrate their paths leading to the mentioned domains, and the individuals whose projects have been put in place.
There will be a free addition to the festival, where there will be free yoga classes, dance classes and meditation throughout the whole festival, as well as a presentation of bio food producers and art works depicting ecological subjects.

El Obscura Filmfest fue fundado por David Ghane en 2016 y ha estado dirigido solo por él desde entonces. Es un apasionado del cine de género desde 1996, asiste a varios festivales de cine al año desde 2004, a veces ayuda, actúa como extra en películas de terror y es un coleccionista de películas extremas.
El Obscura Filmfest se especializa en películas de serie B fantásticas y entretenidas, películas que rara vez se proyectan en los cines. En su mayoría proyectan grandes éxitos de taquilla o películas de autor que se pueden encontrar en la mayoría de los demás festivales de cine comunes. Incluso festivales comparables están ampliando sus programas para incluir cada vez más cine de autor. Aquellos a los que les guste el cine independiente entretenido, pequeño y especial, pero que también se imaginen producciones más grandes de países lejanos, encontrarán lo que buscan en el Obscura Filmfest: películas divertidas y ásperas, crudas e intransigentes; desde pequeñas películas de terror hasta películas épicas de batallas asiáticas, hay algo para todos los fanáticos, pero sin aburrimiento.

Lo más destacado de las ediciones anteriores del festival incluyó los estrenos en Alemania de la película argentina de acción ciberpunk de ciencia ficción y fantasía «Daemonium», el thriller ucraniano «Egregor», la película de zombis filipina «Day Zero», la película de terror danesa «Finale», la comedia de fantasmas «Deadtectives» y las dos películas de Backwoods «What the Waters Left Behind» y su secuela «Scars» 5 años después.
También se proyectaron los estrenos europeos de la película indonesia de superhéroes cómicos «Valentine» y la película de Backwoods «Drifter».
Otro punto destacado fue la alocada fiesta japonesa «Kodoku - Meatball Machine», que cuenta con una larga historia de festivales, incluyendo los festivales más importantes de su género, así como la producción de Universal/Blumhouse «The Hunt».
Con «Redbad» y «The Great Battle», también se proyectaron en el Obscura dos grandes películas épicas de batallas.
El estreno en Alemania de la impactante película de explotación «Trauma» en Hannover contó incluso con la presencia de visitantes de la región del Ruhr.
Tras su estreno internacional en el Obscura, la película de vaqueros «Lasso» se proyectó unos meses después en el famoso Frightfest británico.
En 2022, The Obscura tuvo sus dos primeros estrenos mundiales de largometrajes con «All through the Hall» y «Hidden in the Woods II».
En todos los festivales de cine Obscura hubo invitados que presentaron su película en persona y estuvieron disponibles para una sesión de preguntas y respuestas: procedían de Irlanda, Reino Unido, Bélgica, Finlandia, Dinamarca, España, Grecia, Hungría, Países Bajos, EE. UU., Argentina, México, Colombia y, por supuesto, Alemania.

La 9ª edición de Morce-go Vermelho - FESTIVAL DE CINE DE TERROR DE GOIAS - es un festival de cine en el corazón de Brasil, que contará con obras audiovisuales contemporáneas y de recuperación histórica vinculadas a los temas del terror, el suspenso y el terror. El Festival podrá incluir producciones de ficción, experimentales y de animación, así como talleres y debates.
El objetivo es fomentar y promover las producciones locales, brasileñas y de todo el mundo, para los amantes del cine de terror, suspenso y terror, con algunas de las producciones independientes más creativas de cortometrajes en programas competitivos y largometrajes en la programación.
