Then there is Javier Mrad's "Techopolis," an absolutely amazing 12min stop motion piece resembling Fritz Lang's Metropolis black and white film. This is the only show where so many entertaining films like these take the spotlight and are given full theatrical effect.
Before the "Festival of Animation" it was difficult to see independent, experimental, and foreign animation. Spike and Mike embarks on yearly world-wide film hunting expeditions. They have signed-on animation from the National Film Board of Canada, Cal Arts, Sheridan, Royal College of Art, Annecy, and select studios active amongst the art-house scene that at one time did not have a public venue. This Festival has come to be known as one of the most anticipated touring events on the circuit.
Initially, Spike and Mike produced the "Classic Festival" and later both the "Classic" and "Sick and Twisted" simultaneously- but by the early 2000s, the "Classic Festival of Animation" was phased into hiatus by the Sick and Twisted Festival (mainly featuring shorts venturing into the non sequitur e.g. "Lloyd's Lunchbox"). "The Festival" (meaning the current show) premieres a new cavalcade of adventurous films annually. Spike & Mike's "New Generation Animation" noted as the latest genre in animation, without question is now premiering the most captivating film-set of thought provoking concepts, humor, story, and daring production design in animation.
In animation, it is important to have an accurate gauge on the pulsating shifts in pop culture. Spike and Mike's content has evolved with the changing tastes of our times. The shows in their entirety have toured globally in theaters, film festivals (such as Cannes, Sundance, Annecy), college campuses, and dynamic events such as the Vans Warped Tour, the Winter X Games, and with the nu-metal band Korn.

Der Short Film Slam ist ein zweimonatlicher Wettbewerb von The Madlab Post, der sich darauf konzentriert, aufstrebenden und etablierten Filmemachern eine Plattform zu bieten, um ihre Arbeit zu präsentieren. In jeder Runde wird eine Auswahl von bis zu zwölf Kurzfilmen für lokales Publikum gezeigt, das eine Stimme für ihren Lieblingsfilm abgeben kann. Der am höchsten bewertete Film bei Live-Vorführungen wird im folgenden Monat zum „Movie of the Month“ erklärt. The Topanga Film Festival programs short and feature films that challenge convention and tell stories that inspire new and original ways of seeing and understanding the world. Based in the beautiful, atmospheric surroundings of Topanga, TFF screens films to a unique and engaged Los Angeles community in an intimate setting – attendees include those in the film and music industry, environmentalists, foodies and the eccentric Topangan community.
After the successful launch of the Topanga Film Institute and CoLab space, TFF enters a new phase in its history, offering film makers and cinephiles a unique space to delve deeper into exploring visual storytelling methods and technologies, formats and styles. The Topanga Film Festival is a prime opportunity to enjoy a wealth of international and local content that ranges from creative to educationally empowering. Zurück im Jahr 2015 wurde die Paris Art and Movie Awards, aka „PAMA“, gegründet von Matt Beurois, mehrfach ausgezeichneter Regisseur und Produzent, dessen Regiedebüt erhielt einen Distributionsvertrag von Gravitas Ventures.

This is our 12th Year running Jewish Film Festivals. Veteran Film Festival Directors Wendy Honig, Lesley Rich and Arleen Roberts invite you to join our new International Jewish Film Festival. We started our Jewish film adventure in 2014 at the Palm Beach International Film Festival, moving our group of dedicated screeners and patrons thereafter in 2017 to create the Boca Raton Jewish Film Festival with a commitment to grow the festival into one of the largest in the nation, and thereafter becoming the 2nd largest in the US in 2023.
WE DO NOT CHARGE A SUBMISSION FEE, UNLIKE OTHER MAJOR FESTIVALS IN FLORIDA. One of our purposes is to support filmmakers to get exposure for their films and find distribution opportunities.
We have now expanded to become a new International Jewish Film Festival that will be held in February and March with film programs planned year-round. Our large selection of exciting premiere films will be screened at Cinemark Palace 20 and Movies of Delray and Lake Worth. The Festival is a 501(c)3 charity organization formed as a celebration of Jewish / Israeli cinema. It is a gathering of filmmakers, film enthusiasts, and industry professionals who come together to appreciate and showcase the art of filmmaking. We reach out, excite and bring together our community with and through the power of films that showcase Jewish spirit, culture, traditions and humor.
The Festival features many World and US Premieres. The Festival is proud to introduce new films and filmmakers to distributors and its audiences, including both full length and short films. The Festival is run by Wendy Honig and Lesley Rich
