With a look to the future of Independent Film, the Cutting Edge Film Festival has officially opened its call for entries for feature length and short length films of all genres.
Our festival is looking for the highest caliber of films that audiences can’t, and won’t forget, films created on the cutting edge of imagination, vision, and excitement while incorporating the best filmmaking into the art of the story.
For our 2018 festival, we shall be accepting all films of all lengths and genres including Documentary, Experimental, Religious/Spiritual, Animation, Comedy, Horror, with Horror sub-genres that include Supernatural, Thrillers, Wicken, Magical, Slashers, Science Fiction, Suspense, Horror Documentary, Horror Animation and all genres of Music Videos and LGBT films for the 2018 festival.
The Cutting Edge Film Festival sees film as an art form that has the power to bridge cultures and illuminate the universality of the human experience. Our festival seeks to enrich, to educate, and to entertain the world through the medium of film, and to unveil each filmmaker’s unique vision as a true masterpiece of craftsmanship and passion.
Our festival is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization which endeavors to promote the best filmmakers and their films to an ever-growing worldwide audience as a powerful medium that inspires creativity, encourages introspection, and compels the exploration of the senses, and expands the imagination.
The Cutting Edge Film Festival brings all the new technologies to bear and offers an event for the next step in film festival evolution. Now in the new millennium of filmmaking, our festival takes a leap forward and pierces the veil between the worldwide film audience and independent films with a cutting edge virtual theater that crumbles the boundaries that have in the past limited those who could partake in each filmmaker’s vision captured on film.
Much like with the digital technology that has swept independent film festivals throughout the world since the early 2000s, for many reasons the virtual theater is quickly becoming the first, best choice for festivals, and the new home of Independent film screening worldwide.
The virtual theater is the future of film festivals, as more and more festivals are now screening films online, and even the big festivals such as the Sundance Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival are moving to online screenings.
Festivals are making the leap to cyber screenings because of many reasons, including that it allows for so much more exposure for the films. It is expected that just like the extinction of the 35mm projectors that were replaced with digital, one day in the not too distant future all film festivals will screen almost exclusively online, with only a few live presentations, if any.
Unlike most other Film Festivals, ours is different because it offers a unique method of viewing films in an online film festival that is totally secure and safe for a filmmaker’s project, and even those that provide online festivals cannot duplicate the safety and security that our virtual theater offers.
Very different from other festivals streaming films online, films in this festival cannot be downloaded, the films HAVE NO EMBEDDING CODE and our HTML code if copied and pasted, the films will not play, therefore they CANNOT be placed on other websites.
The only time and place they can be viewed is in our festival. In short, we have gone to great lengths to set this system up to protect the safety and security of each filmmaker’s film always keeping the filmmaker in mind. Basically, it is just as secure as a brick and mortar theater screening, only much better.
The virtual theater system and screening platform is completely secure and can be viewed from any computer, and mobile device.
The Cutting Edge Film Festival is opening the doors and tearing down the walls between independent films, and the audiences who love them so much, allowing the world to share in their power and passion.
Cutting Edge Film Festival awards outstanding filmmakers and their work with Best of Genre Awards, along with an Audience Choice Award.
Film Selections Will be Announced October 6th, 2018
Our festival will take place October 18th, 2018, through October 27th, 2018
The topic of the work will be the violence of gender, in any of its manifestations, its prevention and sensitization against it, being able to present documentaries and short films of plot fiction.
The jury will have special consideration for those works that address this issue by focusing on the youth world.

And the creation of a network of organizations and institutions that share and promote activities for solving social and environmental issues.
OBJECTIVE
The Festival proposes to convene and disseminating films that contribute, from its significance and its artistic values, the enrichment and reaffirmation of Latin American cultural identity; and catapult new talent as a viable option for the creation and enlargement of the Latin American audiovisual market.
The Flagler Film Festival was formed to showcase the work of new and emerging filmmakers as well as more experienced filmmakers. We believe there are many creative and innovative artists who deserve recognition for their efforts, especially those constrained by low budgets. We believe that sometimes even more creativity is required when a filmmaker has little or no budget with which to create a film. We believe these films should be seen and be recognized for the efforts of the teams that put them together. The writers, directors, crew, actors and all the talented people involved in the production of a film, whether it is a feature or a short, deserve to have a chance to be seen. We are proud to give filmmakers an opportunity to show their work.
Our fourth annual Flagler Film Festival showcased many fantastic films from around the world, including a short animation which was nominated this year for an Academy Award! Films produced by students from Florida State University, NYU, University of Virginia, Savannah College of Art & Design, Full Sail University, and the American Film Institute were screened as well as films from graduates of many other fine colleges and universities. We were proud to showcase local filmmakers as well as filmmakers from such diverse locations as Luxembourg, Spain, France, Rwanda, Australia, Nepal, Canada, Serbia, Iran, and Peru. As an artistic community, we enjoy including musicians, writers and artists at our festival as well as filmmakers. This year our special guest was Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Steve Boone, of the '60's band The Lovin' Spoonful. Steve met many of our audience and signed CDs, albums and his new book, "Hotter than a Match Head: On the Run with the Lovin' Spoonful." We showcased a short comedy from actor Chris Roach who currently stars on CBS in "Kevin Can Wait" with Kevin James. One of our documentaries, "Daddy Don't Go" was recently picked up by Starz and will be available to the public!
The third annual Flagler Film Festival was proud to showcase amazing films from around the world. We had a film about a Grammy-nominated children's choir from Uganda called "Imba Means Sing" (now in national distribution), a documentary film by an Emmy Award winning filmmaker, a film narrated by the Academy Award winning, legendary actress Olivia De Havilland, two films which won student Emmy Awards and two films which were screened at the Cannes Short Film Corner. We were very proud to be the only festival in Florida to screen "Animals" an independent feature film written by and starring David Dastmalchian (Ant Man, The Dark Knight) now in national distribution. In addition, we had a terrific assortment of low budget, independent and student films which amazed our audience. Over 20 films had representation at the festival with lively, emotional and intelligent Q&As after the screenings. See our website for videos of the Q&As in addition to the list of films, extensive press and awards.
So far, two of our Best Documentary Feature Nominees from our 3rd Annual Festival have announced national distribution deals. Both "My Father's Vietnam" (winner) and nominee "Mount Lawrence" will be seen this spring on VOD platforms as well as other formats, including theatrical. Please see their websites or IMDb for more info and congratulations to them from the festival!
Our second annual festival showcased excellent student and small budget films as well as films with extraordinary credentials, including a film written by two-time Academy Award winning screenwriter, Horton Foote (To Kill a Mockingbird). We were proud to have as our special guest, Laura Tyler, make up artist known for her work on "Face Off" and "Hunger Games." She did a special live demonstration for our audience by turning an actor into a zombie! Also in attendance was actress Evalena Marie (Serena and the RATTS, Dark Haul, Remains) representing the indie feature "Visionary." Our festivities concluded with a champagne awards celebration on our last evening.
We are very proud that several of our official selections from our first two years have received distribution and can be seen on Blu-Ray, DVD and streaming sites. Many of our selected films have gone on to win many awards at festivals around the world. We wish much success to all the filmmakers out there!
Flagler Film Festival announced our new association with Renny Roker, film and television actor, writer and producer. Renny has appeared in or starred in 47 films and over 400 television episodes in his career. He is currently producing new projects in the Flagler County area. He also mentors college students and does charity work. We are thrilled to have his support and through his worldwide contacts in the film industry, we will be expanding our presence in the festival world.
Flagler Film Festival was inspired by the amazingly talented people we have met who perform all the hard work that is required to make a film. We recognize that there are many creative filmmakers who are looking for a place to showcase their work. We are located in a relaxed, pristine beach area with community members who support the arts. Galleries, live theater and now a film festival are part of our small city located in beautiful Flagler County, Florida. Our coastal location is within a short distance to many Florida attractions. If you are a filmmaker who has drive and talent, who is looking for a place to show your work, and is interested in Florida sunshine in January, we hope that you will submit your film for consideration in our festival.
The Flagler Film Festival was created by independent filmmakers for independent filmmakers. Wolfe Productions, LLC and Cashback International, Inc. are the co-founders of the Flagler Film Festival.
We will be showcasing feature films and shorts of all genres. If you believe in your film, we will do our very best to recognize your talent and efforts and include your work in our festival. Special consideration will be given to student films.
The Flagler Film Festival is pleased to announce our affiliation with 10th Voyage Studios of Palm Coast, Florida, a full service motion picture production company. Plan to visit a movie studio during your visit to the festival.
Many exciting new events to be announced in the near future, along with prizes for filmmakers.

Zuallererst in Litauen (Vilnius).

FILMMAKER TESTIMONIALS:
"Telluride Horror Show is one of the most exciting fests operating today. The scenery is unmatched and the passion of the programmers is obvious with the killer lineup each year. I'm totally honored to have been some small part of it for two years. I think people will be kicking themselves when the fest becomes this unstoppable giant and they didn't get in on it early. I'm mostly excited because it's a festival that offers so many experiences - it can be a nonstop party or a totally laid back weekend of movies in the mountains - whatever kind of time a guest wants to have, you guys make happen. That's why I pledge allegiance to Telluride Horror Show."
- Mickey Keating, Director (Psychopaths, Darling)
"Great audience and goddamn, Telluride is a slice of heaven! What an amazing place!"
- Greg McLean, Director (Jungle, The Belko Experiment, Wolf Creek)
"Telluride Horror Show is by far my favorite film festival. The scenery is awe-inspiring, the crowds are bursting with energy and the films are handpicked by some of the most genuine fans of the genre. I couldn't recommend it enough!"
- Damien Leone, Director (Terrifier, All Hallows' Eve)
"Telluride Horror Show was fantastic to my film and a wonderful place to have our world premiere. Great staff, full crowds, and a beautiful town. Couldn't ask for a better experience."
- Michael Peer, Director (Doll), Telluride Horror Show Short Film Selection
"If somebody asked me, 'Should I go to Telluride Horror Show?' I would say, 'Go. Now. Don't hesitate. It's one of the best festivals in the country!'" - Jeremy Robert Johnson, 2017 Guest Author
"Telluride Horror Show is known for its tremendous shorts programming, and the fans certainly come out for it."
-Meredith Borders, Birth.Movies.Death
"This festival was amazing. Telluride is gorgeous and the people are extremely friendly. The festival director Ted is a really genuine guy. Everyone is grounded, down to earth, and humble. From Brad to Jeff to Catherine to rest of the employees - I had a fantastic time. Definitely in my top festivals and would love to attend again."
- Nikhil Bhagat, Director (As They Continue To Fall), Telluride Horror Show Short Film Selection
"Whether I have a film playing next year or not I'll be back because seriously, there is no cooler town to spend the weekend watching some fun movies with good people! Not the easiest place to get to which goes to show you how fantastic of a show they put on because I met horror fans that came from all over. Every screening I attended was packed and with some of the best audiences I've encountered. Don't miss this one!"
- Anthony Cousins, Director (When Susurrus Stirs), Telluride Horror Show Short Film Selection
“The festival was very well organized, and the response from the audiences at the screenings was a wonderful experience. Telluride itself was absolutely beautiful, and the organizers treated us extremely well. We can't wait until next year's festival.”
-Tom Holland, 2010 Telluride Horror Show Guest Director (Fright Night, Child's Play)
"A full roasted pig, with the fat-saturated eyeballs up for grabs in the lobby of a gorgeous old opera house teeming with horror filmmakers and fans is how the Telluride Horror Show kicks off every year. And we couldn't have asked for a better festival to premiere our film "The Battery" in. Ted, the festival director and his team bend over backwards to accommodate traveling filmmakers; and the audience is a lively mix of horror and film fans, critics, writers, and rabble-rousing locals. The town is absurdly intimate in a way that makes for near constant run-ins with attendees looking to jaw about movies over a beer or a great cup of coffee between screenings all day. And all of this is to say nothing of the view: a majestic frontier town just begging for a Leone-style showdown nestled in the palm of the most classic, craggy, snow-capped mountains one could imagine. Waking up there every morning is a true privilege, with every window in every building looking out on an Ansel Adams shot brought to striking life. If there weren't enough reasons for a filmmaker to finally finish that movie they've been talking about and send it kicking and screaming out into the world, then Telluride Horror is one more. Just writing about it now is enough to make me long for October again, and has me hoping I've got another film ready in time to enjoy the reception all over again."
-Jeremy Gardner, Director (The Battery), 2012 Telluride Horror Show World Premiere

Feature films included "ABCs of Death 2", "The Babadook", "Creep", "Spring", "Suburban Gothic", "The Houses October Built", "The Boxtrolls", "WolfCop", and many more, solidifying the Telluride Horror Show's role as an important stop on the festival circuit for major indie horror films. Four dedicated shorts programs saw capacity crowds as the festival continued its tradition of treating our shorts programs as major events. Over 33 short films were selected for the 2014 festival. Many of the talented cast & crew behind both the features and shorts were in attendance for lively Q&As. All in all, our best year yet, with incredibly enthusiastic attendees and guests.
In 2013, attendees flocked to Telluride from all over the country for an incredible line-up of films, including the World Premieres of indie horror features "All Hallows' Eve" and "Chemical Peel", a sneak peek of Lionsgate's "Hellbenders", Bobcat Goldthwait's "Willow Creek", closing film "Beneath", the US Premiere of "Across the River", and indie festival hits such as "Delivery", "Septic Man", "The Midnight Game", "On Air", "Pinup Dolls on Ice", "The Seasoning House", and a special presentation of the hit doc "Rewind This!" Guest Director Frank Henenlotter was on hand for a special screening of the cult classic "Basket Case" and visual effects legend Phil Tippett joined us with a sneak preview of his latest stop-motion animation project "MAD GOD". Our three dedicated shorts blocks saw record crowds, with 34 short films from all over the world, proving once again that short films will always find enthusiastic support at the Telluride Horror Show. Over 30 filmmakers & guests were in person for Q&As and presentations. 2013 sponsors included Dread Central, Revolver Picture Co., Colorado Office of Film, Television, Media, Well Go USA, and many others. Reviews generated at the festival appeared on Dread Central, All Things Horror, and Yahoo!
In 2012, attendance numbers saw another strong increase, with Quiet Earth, Dread Central, and Screen Invasion publishing reviews of the films. New sponsors included FEARnet, 20th Century Fox's Wrong Turn 5, and Sony. Our third festival showcased 17 features and 34 short films. Highlights included the world premiere of the ultra-low-budget zombie hit "The Battery" with cast & crew in attendance, the US premiere of "Inbred", the North American premiere of "The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh", a special presentation of "ParaNorman" with Laika Studios, as well as 2012 festival circuit favorites "The American Scream", "Grabbers", "Excision", "Errors of the Human Body", "Game of Werewolves", and many more. The 34 short films showcased at the festival represented the best of the best, from all over the world, and spoke to our mission to support and foster the art of short filmmaking. Out of all these superb shorts, Australia's "Perished" was chosen to be shown on FEARnet.com, alongside the rest of FEARnet's horror, thriller and suspense programming.
In 2011, the Telluride Horror Show saw a massive increase in festival attendance. November 2025 in Puno, Peru, stattfindet.
Experimental Forum is an international performance, film and video art festival showcasing experimental film and artists’ moving image from new directors and innovative video artists from around the globe, with the third edition taking place in Los Angeles in November 2018. Our aim is to provide a supportive platform for the exciting and challenging work that is outside the scope of mainstream film festivals and art galleries.
We welcome experimental cinema pieces (abstract, narrative or documentary), video art works, essay films, artists’ moving image and media art, as well as documentary and narrative films that seek to expand, redefine or reconfigure the means and ends of their respective fields. Experimental Forum exists to provide access to, and develop audiences for, artists’ moving image work and is committed to engaging local audiences with new and/or unheard voices in film.
We are particularly interested in works made by early stage filmmakers and artists whose work is underrepresented. We provide a collaborative platform for moving image works made for the gallery and for the cinema with the aim of building a community across disciplinary and institutional faultlines.
