LA Underground Film Forum (LAUFF) è la principale vetrina di Los Angeles di sperimentazione nei media cinematografici, video e audio. Si concentra su cinema d'avanguardia, d'arte, indipendente e non a basso budget, con la quinta edizione che si terrà a luglio 2020, Los Angeles.
Il nostro programma offre ai registi una sede per reinventare ed esplorare nuovi approcci, promuovere nuove forme di media art e costruire un pubblico per questo tipo di lavoro. Il nostro obiettivo è presentare una vasta gamma di lavori che esplorano le numerose definizioni e interpretazioni del concetto di «underground».
Cerchiamo film realizzati con passione, ossessione e spinta; film che vadano oltre le aspettative e il genere; film, progetti video e audio che si sforzano di superare i confini della forma e dei contenuti accettati. Un forte senso di paternità è un must.
LAUFF accetta tutte le forme e generi: dal dramma, documentario, sperimentale, cult, art-house, lingua straniera, commedia, horror, fantascienza, animazione, LGBT, indigeni, erotici, cinema lento e video arte...
The first AfryKamera Film Festival was organized by FilmGramm Foundation in cooperation with the South African Embassy during the months of April-June 2006. It aimed to use cinematography to bring Africa to the attention of the Polish public. The 1st AfryKamera premiered in Warsaw and also ran in Krakow, Poznan, Lodz, Torun and Konin. The unbelievable media interest and good ticket sales during the first festival in 2006 confirmed our belief that Africa is a theme of immense interest to a growing number of people. Since the very 1st edition, AfryKamera has been well covered in the Polish media, which confirms the great marketing potential of such an event for Africa in general, as well as, for sponsors and patrons.
As it stands AfryKamera is the first African Film Festival in Central and Eastern Europe as well as the largest African-themed event in Poland and the wider region.
AfryKamera has managed to occupy a niche in the film festival market – although there are many international film festivals, they generally show a limited range of African films. AfryKamera is therefore the only festival in Poland dedicated purely to films from the continent. In the past few years the festival has decided to explore new avenues not only in the art of cinematography, but also in the presentation of African art, music, and culture.
The main events of the African Film Festival AfryKamera take place in Warsaw, Poland, traditionally in either Kino Luna or Kinoteka, the capital city's premier arthouse cinemas. The event in 2018 will last 10 days and presents 15-25 full length features and documentaries as well as some 20 short films from around the continent and from the African diapora. The key motto of the festival is "Made in Africa", as the focus is put on the quality of moviemaking on the continent and the enhanced capacity to make world-class movies.
The Nollywood Travel Festival celebrates the best of Nigerian cinema and will be hosted in Toronto, Canada from 5-7 May 2017. It will be a weekend of special indoor and outdoor screenings, inspiring discussions,meeting,parties and awards.
Now in its 16th year, Ffresh – the Student Media Awards – features the best student work from all over the world, along with masterclasses, panel sessions and workshops with some of the industry’s most renowned and respected figures.
Previous guests have included directors Stephen Frears, Mike Leigh, Sergey Dvortsevoy, Asif Kapadia, Jonathan Caouette, Matt Lipsey, Matt Lambert, and Gaston Kaboré; screenwriters Andrew Davies and Tim Firth; producers Stephen Garrett, Bethan Jones, and Sally Hibbin; highly acclaimed visual artists Lichtfaktor and Semiconductor; international FX companies The Mill and Double Negative; Oscar winning editor Jim Clark; and animators Johnny Kelly, Merlin Crossingham, Phil Mulloy, & Peter Dodd, amongst many others.
The purpose of the Awards is to celebrate the best work being created by the up-and-coming media talent from around the world, and to provide a vital link between higher education and the media industry sector.
Ffresh is a BAFTA Cymru qualifying festival.
Ffresh also runs two BFI Film Academies in South Wales for 16-19 year olds in VFX and Animation.

Dal 22 al 26 aprile 2026, si svolgerà a Potsdam la 55a edizione del Sehsüchte International Student Film Festival, uno dei più grandi festival europei per registi emergenti. Offre ai registi emergenti di tutto il mondo una piattaforma per presentare i propri lavori a un vasto pubblico e creare contatti nel settore. Nato negli anni '70 come festival cinematografico della RDT per giovani registi, Sehsüchte si è affermato nel corso dei decenni come festival cinematografico di importanza internazionale ed è diventato parte integrante del panorama culturale di Berlino e del Brandeburgo.
Sehsüchte si considera un luogo di incontro e creazione, un evento di diversità culturale e una celebrazione del cinema, oggi e domani. L'organizzazione e la realizzazione del festival sono interamente nelle mani degli studenti della Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. Ciò consente uno scambio dinamico tra giovani talenti, produttori di media e ricercatori.
Motto 2026: Cosa resta?
Il motto del festival cinematografico Sehsüchte del 2026 è What's left?. Nella 55a edizione di Sehsüchte, vogliamo indirizzare la nostra visione verso il passato, il presente e il futuro. Cosa resta? vuole sapere cosa resta dei nostri ideali, della nostra casa, delle nostre speranze e paure e del mondo in cui vogliamo credere. Con Cosa resta? , vogliamo sfidare il pessimismo implicito nella domanda: vogliamo riconoscere il potenziale di cambiamento e sviluppare prospettive future non nonostante, ma grazie alle sfide del presente. Cosa resta? significa assumersi la responsabilità, permettersi di dire addio e trovare il coraggio per nuove opportunità e visioni collettive, per raggiungere una costruttività oltre la rassegnazione.

Le esplorazioni artistiche e cinematografiche, i workshop e i formati di discussione vogliono invitare sia i registi che il pubblico ad affrontare la complessità di questo mondo. The Festival represents a workshop of the documentary film and a meeting place for the promotion and dissemination of the art, starting from Marcellino's works and his point of view. Through the search for new directors to discovery representative artistic expressions of documentary film. It wants be an opportunity to reflect the contemporaneity through different points of view, to enrich and call into question our gaze.
Leiden International Short Film Experience (LISFE) is an annual film festival held in the beautiful city of Leiden in The Netherlands. LISFE is dedicated to Short Films from all genres and from anywhere in the world. Over the years we have built the reputation of successfully showcasing though-provoking films through a diverse and selective program.
This year the festival will take place from the 7th until the 10th of May in Kijkhuis (Leiden).

Lanciato nel 2008, ENFOQUE International Film Festival, un festival cinematografico annuale che si tiene a Porto Rico e si è stabilito con lo scopo di mostrare film che contribuiranno e cambieranno la vita delle persone attraverso il potere della cinematografia. Giunto alla sua decima edizione, il Festival internazionale del cinema ENFOQUE 2019, torna a Porto Rico dal 05 al 08 giugno con il meglio del cinema. ENFOQUE proietta lungometraggi nazionali e internazionali, documentari, video musicali e cortometraggi che rappresentano paesi di tutto il mondo da registi emergenti e premiati da una serie di premi della giuria e del pubblico. ENFOQUE offre al pubblico appassionato di film l'accesso a registi acclamati dalla critica, professionisti dell'industria cinematografica e talenti emergenti provenienti da tutto il mondo.
La programmazione comprende il festival del cinema in PR, nuove mostre di musica e arte, ENFOQUELABS, eventi familiari e comunitari, premi per registi e un concorso di cortometraggi riconosciuto a livello nazionale.

Il consiglio comunale di Piélagos presenta la sedicesima edizione del suo festival cinematografico, una vetrina per talenti locali e internazionali.
Con categorie competitive per Cantabria, Spagna, Internazionale e il Geoparco UNESCO Costa Quebrada, l'evento celebra il meglio dei cortometraggi (fiction, fino a 30 minuti).
I film selezionati si contenderanno premi tra cui il miglior cortometraggio cantabrico, nazionale e internazionale, oltre a riconoscimenti tecnici e al prestigioso Geopark Award, che premia le opere legate a questo patrimonio naturale.

DoKer è stato creato 9 anni fa per portare al pubblico russo meravigliosi documentari indipendenti provenienti da tutto il mondo e fornire una piattaforma di discussione per autori, esperti e spettatori.
I principi di DoKer sono:
- Quando diciamo «film documentario» poniamo l'accento sul «film».
- Ci sono innumerevoli modi per realizzare un documentario, ma crediamo che debba essere drammatico e interessante.
- L'immagine e il suono sono importanti tanto per i documenti quanto per i film di finzione. Il linguaggio cinematografico è universale e lo usiamo per raccontare le nostre storie.
Attention to all film talents: From 21 November 2017 until 31 January 2018, filmmakers will have the chance to apply for the LET’S CEE Short Film Competition 2018. Not only are two main prizes waiting to be won, moreover, ten finalists will receive an invitation to participate in the second edition of the LET’S CEE Talent Academy in Vienna!
Between 21 November 2017 and 31 January 2018, filmmakers up to the age of 35 from Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus region, Turkey and Austria will have the possibility to submit their short films to the Short Film Competition of the LET’S CEE Film Festival 2018.
However, filmmakers of all ages and from all over the world are welcome as well to send in thematically fitting contributions. Due to the festival’s geographical focus on CEE though, these short films will not be included in the main Short Film Competition, but will very well have the chance to win the Audience Award in the Short Film category and be screened at the festival in the section Short Films | Out of Competition. We furthermore cordially encourage international makers of virtual reality films, 3D productions and avant-garde pieces to apply as we will be offering these genres a stage at our festival as well.
The theme of the Short Film Competition 2018 is TOGETHER OR APART.
Great Britain voted for the Brexit last year and in doing so decided against a EU membership; most recently thousands of Catalan people went to the streets demanding independence from Spain; under the presidency of Donald Trump, the USA is seeking to withdraw from the Paris climate protection agreement and renegotiate various other commercial treaties – these are only three of many examples demonstrating the recent shift of the political mood in numerous countries. A growing migratory pressure, an increasing gap between the rich and poor, as well as justified and unsubstantiated fears – of the consequences of digitalisation, of the loss of jobs and stability and of social change – have discredited globalisation and encouraged a comeback of nationalist and isolationist tendencies, which seemed utterly unfathomable only a few years ago. Even on a national scale, societal cohesion appears to be threatened more and more. How does the growing division of society influence both the community and individuals? Will political agitation, hatred, egotism and greed for profit become the new normal? Well, the situation is critical, but not hopeless, neither on an international nor a national level. There are still representatives of the civil society who make no effort to surrender to the threatening eroding solidarity. Fortunately, there are numerous instances proving how people still advocate for the poor and disadvantaged with great optimism, dedication and empathy – people who rather pay attention to what we have in common instead of what keeps us apart.
The competition’s theme, TOGETHER OR APART, may be manifested in the submitted material in various manners and methods. Interpersonal aspects, such as family and relationship dramas, trials and tribulations, moments of success and happiness or the joint overcoming of challenges can be taken into account just as well as social, political, juridical and/or cultural matters. In other words: everything is possible, as long as it touches on the topic and is done well!
An advisory board chaired by the renowned Austrian-Iranian filmmakers Arash T. Riahi and Arman T. Riahi will choose the best contributions from the submissions for the LET’S CEE Short Film Competition. The short films, which will be screened out of competition, will be selected by the Bosnian-Dutch producer Denis Mujović and festival director Magdalena Żelasko.
After the presentation of the participating productions at the festival, an international jury will decide on the winner of the competing short films and, thus, who will be awarded the main prize – 1,500 Euro and a Urania statuette – at the Awards Ceremony in the Urania Cinema on 20 April 2018. The remaining short films presented during the festival will have, without exception, the chance to win the 1,500 Euro Audience Award in the category Short Film.
All filmmakers who will take part in the main Short Film Competition will additionally profit from their participation. At the expense of the festival, one of the involved filmmakers of each short film will be invited as an official guest*) to Vienna in order to present their work. Those persons will, furthermore, have the opportunity to join the second edition of the LET’S CEE Talent Academy.
15 remaining free seats for the Talent Academy will be filled by Out-of-Competition filmmakers. The most important items on the one-week Academy agenda include the attendance of LET’S CEE Master Classes and LET’S CEE Industry Days, the collaborative finalisation of a short film about Vienna, and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pitch a film idea to Raindance film festival director Elliot Grove (and win big!) at the Pitching Competition. Of course, all invited filmmakers will enjoy several Get-togethers, where they can get in touch with successful distributors, directors, producers, actors etc., exchange experiences and new ideas and thus strive to new projects and international collaborations. In order to enable as many filmmakers as possible to visit LET’S CEE and present their work to the festival audience, all participants of the section ‘Short Films | Out of Competition’ will receive free festival accreditations and discounts for the official hotel partner on request.
