El LA Underground Film Forum (LAUFF) es el primer escaparate de experimentación en medios basados en cine, video y audio de Los Ángeles. Se centra en el cine vanguardista, art-house, independiente y de bajo presupuesto, con la quinta edición que tendrá lugar en julio de 2020, en Los Ángeles.
Nuestro programa ofrece un lugar para que los cineastas reinventen y exploren nuevos enfoques, fomenten nuevas formas de arte mediático y construyan una audiencia para este tipo de trabajo. Nuestro objetivo es presentar una amplia gama de trabajos explorando las múltiples definiciones e interpretaciones del concepto de «underground».
Buscamos películas hechas con pasión, obsesión y motivación; películas que vayan más allá de las expectativas y el género; películas, proyectos de vídeo y audio que se esfuercen por superar los límites de la forma y el contenido aceptados. Un fuerte sentido de autoría es una necesidad.
LAUFF acepta todas las formas y géneros: desde drama, documental, experimental, culto, art-house, lengua extranjera, comedia, terror, ciencia ficción, fantasía, animación, LGBT, indígena, erótica hasta cine lento y videoarte...
The first AfryKamera Film Festival was organized by FilmGramm Foundation in cooperation with the South African Embassy during the months of April-June 2006. It aimed to use cinematography to bring Africa to the attention of the Polish public. The 1st AfryKamera premiered in Warsaw and also ran in Krakow, Poznan, Lodz, Torun and Konin. The unbelievable media interest and good ticket sales during the first festival in 2006 confirmed our belief that Africa is a theme of immense interest to a growing number of people. Since the very 1st edition, AfryKamera has been well covered in the Polish media, which confirms the great marketing potential of such an event for Africa in general, as well as, for sponsors and patrons.
As it stands AfryKamera is the first African Film Festival in Central and Eastern Europe as well as the largest African-themed event in Poland and the wider region.
AfryKamera has managed to occupy a niche in the film festival market – although there are many international film festivals, they generally show a limited range of African films. AfryKamera is therefore the only festival in Poland dedicated purely to films from the continent. In the past few years the festival has decided to explore new avenues not only in the art of cinematography, but also in the presentation of African art, music, and culture.
The main events of the African Film Festival AfryKamera take place in Warsaw, Poland, traditionally in either Kino Luna or Kinoteka, the capital city's premier arthouse cinemas. The event in 2018 will last 10 days and presents 15-25 full length features and documentaries as well as some 20 short films from around the continent and from the African diapora. The key motto of the festival is "Made in Africa", as the focus is put on the quality of moviemaking on the continent and the enhanced capacity to make world-class movies.
The Nollywood Travel Festival celebrates the best of Nigerian cinema and will be hosted in Toronto, Canada from 5-7 May 2017. It will be a weekend of special indoor and outdoor screenings, inspiring discussions,meeting,parties and awards.
Now in its 16th year, Ffresh – the Student Media Awards – features the best student work from all over the world, along with masterclasses, panel sessions and workshops with some of the industry’s most renowned and respected figures.
Previous guests have included directors Stephen Frears, Mike Leigh, Sergey Dvortsevoy, Asif Kapadia, Jonathan Caouette, Matt Lipsey, Matt Lambert, and Gaston Kaboré; screenwriters Andrew Davies and Tim Firth; producers Stephen Garrett, Bethan Jones, and Sally Hibbin; highly acclaimed visual artists Lichtfaktor and Semiconductor; international FX companies The Mill and Double Negative; Oscar winning editor Jim Clark; and animators Johnny Kelly, Merlin Crossingham, Phil Mulloy, & Peter Dodd, amongst many others.
The purpose of the Awards is to celebrate the best work being created by the up-and-coming media talent from around the world, and to provide a vital link between higher education and the media industry sector.
Ffresh is a BAFTA Cymru qualifying festival.
Ffresh also runs two BFI Film Academies in South Wales for 16-19 year olds in VFX and Animation.

Tenemos Que Ver – Festival Internacional de Cine de Derechos Humanos de Uruguay, abre sus convocatorias para la 7ma. edición del Festival, a realizarse en junio de 2018, en la ciudad de Montevideo.
En esta edición, abordaremos la temática VIOLENCIA INSTITUCIONAL*
Desde Tenemos Que Ver buscamos promover las condiciones sociales necesarias que garanticen el respeto por la diversidad, proyectando una actitud de cambio en las conductas por las cuales nos relacionamos los seres humanos. El cine tiene la capacidad de colocarnos en la situación del "otro", de hacernos cómplices de su vida, nos ayuda a sentir sus emociones, nos hace partícipe de sus alegrías, así como de sus tristezas, de ésta manera, logramos ver de una manera diferente la diversidad,
comprendiendo y sintiendo la vida de los otros un poco más nuestra. Buscamos conocer en profundidad diferentes historias, analizando juntos la manera más
adecuada de revertir la realidad de vulneración de derechos en la que vivimos,
empezando siempre por cada uno de nosotros, y buscando un efecto de contagio
hacia buenas prácticas en materia de respeto de nuestros derechos.
*La temática central no excluye el abordaje de otros temas vinculadas a los DDHH
Se convoca a: realizadores(as), productores(as) y distribuidoras; de largos y cortometrajes; de ficción, documental, animación, a presentar sus películas vinculadas a temáticas que aborden problemáticas sociales y de vulneración y/o defensa de los Derechos Humanos.
En esta edición el tema central del festival es Violencia Institucional. No excluyéndose otras temáticas vinculadas a los DDHH.
Del 22 al 26 de abril de 2026, tendrá lugar en Potsdam la 55ª edición del Festival Internacional de Cine Estudiantil Sehsüchte, uno de los festivales más grandes de Europa para cineastas emergentes. Ofrece a los cineastas emergentes de todo el mundo una plataforma para presentar su trabajo a un público amplio y establecer contactos en la industria. Sehsüchte, que comenzó en la década de 1970 como un festival de cine de la RDA para jóvenes cineastas, se ha consolidado a lo largo de las décadas como un festival de cine de importancia internacional y se ha convertido en una parte integral del panorama cultural de Berlín y Brandeburgo.
Sehsüchte se ve a sí mismo como un lugar de encuentro y creación, como un evento de diversidad cultural y una celebración del cine, hoy y mañana. La organización e implementación del festival están totalmente en manos de los estudiantes de la Universidad de Cine de Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. Esto permite un intercambio dinámico entre jóvenes talentos, creadores de medios e investigadores.
Lema 2026: ¿Qué queda?
El lema del festival de cine Sehsüchte de 2026 es ¿Qué queda?. En la 55ª edición de Sehsüchte, queremos dirigir nuestra mirada hacia el pasado, el presente y el futuro. ¿Qué queda? quiere saber lo que queda: de nuestros ideales, nuestro hogar, nuestras esperanzas y temores, y de un mundo en el que queremos creer. Con ¿Qué queda? , queremos desafiar el pesimismo que implica la pregunta: queremos reconocer el potencial de cambio y desarrollar perspectivas de futuro no a pesar de los desafíos del presente, sino debido a ellos. ¿Qué queda? significa asumir la responsabilidad, permitirnos decir adiós y encontrar el valor para nuevas oportunidades y visiones colectivas, para lograr una actitud constructiva más allá de la resignación.
¿Qué queda? ¿Qué queda por esperar? ¿Qué queda por hacer?
Las exploraciones artísticas y cinematográficas, los talleres y los formatos de debate quieren invitar tanto a los cineastas como al público a enfrentarse a la complejidad de este mundo. Entre la agitación y el despertar, la tradición y la rebelión, el dolor y la esperanza: en su 55ª edición, Sehsüchte quiere crear espacios en los que los cineastas y el público puedan enfrentarse a crisis políticas y personales para descubrir lo que queda.

El Festival Internacional de Cine y Derechos Humanos de Uruguay organizado por Tenemos Que Ver y Cotidiano Mujer, abre su convocatoria a películas nacionales e internacionales para la Muestra “Cine y Derechos Humanos para Niños, Niñas y Adolescentes” que estén dirigidas al público infantil y adolescente en dos franjas etarias: niños y niñas entre 6 y 11 años y adolescente entre 12 y 17 años.

La promotora del FICIAT, Sra. Alvine KOUAMBO, se complace en anunciar la 12ª edición del Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente y Arte Teatral «FICIAT», que se celebrará del 25 al 28 de marzo de 2026 en Bafoussam (Camerún).
Este evento, iniciado por la asociación Screen for the Renewal of African Culture, abreviada como «ERECA», reunirá a actores del cine y el arte teatral de todos los rincones del mundo.
El tema de esta edición es «DEL ESCENARIO A LA PANTALLA: DESPERTAR LA IMAGINACIÓN, CONECTAR A LOS PUEBLOS Y UNIR LAS CULTURAS». Inscripciones para películas y representaciones teatrales que estarán en competencia y fuera de competencia durante el Festival son bienvenidas. Para este festival, se establecerá una gigantesca plataforma llamada. Aquí es donde se concentrarán las principales actividades del Festival. Habrá espacios disponibles, pero en cantidades muy selectivas.

The Festival represents a workshop of the documentary film and a meeting place for the promotion and dissemination of the art, starting from Marcellino's works and his point of view. Leiden International Short Film Experience (LISFE) is an annual film festival held in the beautiful city of Leiden in The Netherlands. LISFE is dedicated to Short Films from all genres and from anywhere in the world. Over the years we have built the reputation of successfully showcasing though-provoking films through a diverse and selective program.
This year the festival will take place from the 7th until the 10th of May in Kijkhuis (Leiden).

XVI Festival de Cortometrajes de Piélagos "Piélagos en Corto"
El Ayuntamiento de Piélagos presenta la 16ª edición de su festival de cine, un escaparate para el talento local e internacional. Con categorías competitivas para Cantabria, España, Internacional y el Geoparque UNESCO Costa Quebrada, el evento premia lo mejor del cortometraje (ficción, hasta 30 minutos).
