Sobre el FIDBA – Primer Festival Internacional de Cine Documental Competitivo de Buenos Aires
En las últimas décadas, y contemporáneamente a la irrupción de las nuevas tecnologías que han terminado por digitalizar la mayoría de los procesos del cine, el documental ha conocido un crecimiento notorio y sistemático en todo el mundo. En nuestro país, y desde hace ya más de una década, una producción antes ligada casi únicamente a la ficción ha visto engrosar sus filas con nuevos temas, nuevos abordajes, nuevas geografías, nuevos dilemas.
Es en ese marco que FIDBA se propone como el 1er. Festival Internacional de Cine dedicado a este género en el que películas con la misma afición – en tanto creemos que las formas y los haceres del cine documental son diferentes a los de la ficción- podrán encontrarse y dialogar entre ellas y con su público. Si para el FIDBA el documental es un punto de encuentro, lo es en tanto propone una interpelación a las memorias poco reconocidas, los presentes perturbadores y (nuestros) futuros en suspensión. FIDBA será entonces un acercamiento no sólo entre espectadores, cineastas y pensadores ligados al documental sino también con relación a las posibilidades siempre estimulantes que permiten abrir este espacio a otras manifestaciones fronterizas y heterodoxas encuadradas dentro de lo que llamaríamos la “no ficción” y que nos incitan al diálogo para con las expresiones contemporáneas que trascienden incluso el ámbito de lo cinematográfico.
FIDBA prestará especial atención a aquellos cineastas para quienes el cine está ligado a una forma de investigación y conocimiento del mundo que nos rodea como al retrato de seres humanos cuyas condiciones de vida, en contextos históricos y sociales determinados, permiten interrogarnos sobre las nuestras. Se trata, por eso, de autores que no solo reflexionan sobre la realidad sino también sobre la relación ética y moral que implica filmar al otro.
FIDBA aspira a convertirse en un punto de apoyo para cineastas que buscan ensanchar la percepción de la realidad y para películas que suponen un paso adelante en el esfuerzo por comprenderla y por anticiparse a ella. Así, hará foco sobre films cuya originalidad estética ponga en riesgo no solo una idea del documental sino también un pensamiento sobre el cine mismo y sus posibilidades. Ya que esa focalización supone interrogar el status de lo real frente a la cámara o del film en relación a la realidad, en tanto ésta es inseparable de las mediaciones a partir de las que se presenta.
El 20º River Film Festival es un festival internacional de cine que tendrá lugar en Padua (Italia) del 3 al 20 de junio de 2026.
El festival está organizado por la Asociación Cultural Investigating Movies y cuenta con el apoyo del Ayuntamiento de Padua, la región del Véneto y el Ministerio de Cultura italiano.
Padua ha sido incluida recientemente en la Lista del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO gracias a la Capilla de los Scrovegni de Giotto y a los ciclos de frescos del siglo XIV de la ciudad, lo que la convierte en una ciudad artística verdaderamente especial que atrae a turistas y mentes creativas de todo el mundo.
Todas las proyecciones son gratuitas y están abiertas al público, sin necesidad de entrada.
Las películas seleccionadas volverán a proyectarse en una pantalla flotante situada en medio del puerto fluvial del siglo XVI, en Porta Portello, la histórica puerta de entrada de la ciudad que antaño se utilizaba para el comercio entre Padua y Venecia. Este escenario mágico es solo uno de los muchos motivos por los que el público vuelve a RiFF año tras año.
Durante los 18 días que dura el festival, los directores y sus equipos tendrán la oportunidad de presentar sus películas y participar en sesiones de preguntas y respuestas con el público después de la proyección.

El Film Tracks Film Fest quiere ser un punto de encuentro entre los amantes del lenguaje fílmico, proponer obras de calidad.

L’associazione culturale La Guarimba ha come obiettivo quello di riportare il cinema alla gente e la gente al cinema. Questa motivazione ci ha portato a riparare un vecchio cinema all’aperto di 938 posti in Calabria; ad organizzare un festival del cortometraggio internazionale con ingresso libero; a creare La Scuola Delle Scimmie in Puglia, un processo di formazione di cinema e di illustrazione indipendente per 45 ragazzi; ci ha fatto creare La Guarimba On Tour dove ogni anno portiamo la nostra selezione di cortometraggi in giro per il mondo; e infine, ad agosto 2015, abbiamo organizzato la prima conferenza europea di Vimeo, il più grande distributore di cinema online diretto.

Experimental Forum is an international performance, film and video art festival showcasing experimental film and artists’ moving image from new directors and innovative video artists from around the globe, with the third edition taking place in Los Angeles in November 2018. Our aim is to provide a supportive platform for the exciting and challenging work that is outside the scope of mainstream film festivals and art galleries.
We welcome experimental cinema pieces (abstract, narrative or documentary), video art works, essay films, artists’ moving image and media art, as well as documentary and narrative films that seek to expand, redefine or reconfigure the means and ends of their respective fields. Experimental Forum exists to provide access to, and develop audiences for, artists’ moving image work and is committed to engaging local audiences with new and/or unheard voices in film.

We provide a collaborative platform for moving image works made for the gallery and for the cinema with the aim of building a community across disciplinary and institutional faultlines.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The growing need to champion GOOD has never been more apparent. In the face of this, we, especially storytellers, are not powerless. Stories are powerful. Stories plant ideas, thoughts and emotions into an audience. Telling the story of a real person, for example, can humanize an abstract issue, or a far-distant conflict and convert it into something relatable. Science proves the brain synchronizes with the subject of a well-told story. Stories move people in a way that facts and figures alone never will. Film works to enhance this power of storytelling by touching our hearts over our rational minds.
As you look across your world and your immediate community, are there stories that matter to you? Can you shed light through a story that could inspire people to take interest, care and take action towards positive change?
We challenge you to tell these stories in your own way to, first and foremost, make your viewers feel. Whether it’s a strong sense of compassion, empathy, inspiration, outrage, awe, or all of the above, many of us have experienced that moment where you wished you could do something after watching a powerful film.
We then challenge you to take this a step further to harness that very moment. Come up with specific actions, big or small, so your viewers can be a part of that change you envision and mobilize for you as they watch. We are looking for short films that have the potential to go viral. Films that you just can’t help but share to have more people be informed and engaged. There is a magic quality to this type of content. You know it when you see it. Will you be able to capture this magic in your film and harness it? Storytelling combined with social actions can lead to impact. We are ultimately looking for short films and campaigns that have the potential to exemplify this power of storytelling to create more GOOD in our world.
